deadie: I completely agree with you. Almost seems like sane minds are rare here. . Each time I hear things like this, I get a kind of rage like raining hell on them. The good thing for these lecturers is I never got a chance to school in a Nigerian University, I probably would have raised a campaign against all these sadists called lecturers, and that's after a few of them are out of job. |
Education › Re: Can A Lecturer Actually Do This? by ceononi: 2:33pm On Jan 27, 2016 |
pesty100: I was in afternoon class yesterday when my biro stopped working, so i decided to go and collect the biro I gave to my friend before the lecture. I stood up and went to the where my friend was sitting meanwhile the lecturer was in at the back of the class receiving call. I thought to my self that I would collect the biro and explain the reason for my standing up to him but before I could do that; he called me and asked me the reason I stood up, I explained to him and he said I should get out of his class. Before I could reach the door he asked me to come back and give him my name and matric no; which I did, then he sent me outside and said I should never come for any of his other lectures or test. He conducted a test for us that same evening which true to his instructions I didn't come for. He would have said I shouldn't come for exams if not for the fact that the course is being taken by two lecturers so he only has 50% on grading us.
So does the punishment fits my crime?
And what steps can I take so that this man won't bully me.
am nt a girl. For God's sake he has no right to tell u not to attend his classes, try and get high authorities of the school involved, if this does not work then get a lawyer and then he should produce the school code conduct where his actions are based on.....I mean I just don't understand why lecturers in this part of the world will be acting as God |

Highcuerayte: I think I have to, at this moment, as a neccesity make an educative obbligato note on the OP's view on the present contemporary subject of discussion, rephrased, Forgiving A Cheating Girlfriend.
First and foremost, I will like OP or anyone who cares to,explain how a 'girlfriend' can be cheating on you, having in mind the realistic definition of a girlfriend not in the unrealistic context of Oxford dictionary which defines it "an inamorata" but the consistent realistic definition, opined, is your female friend with no string attached; "string attached" here is "Engagement or marriage".
That in mind, if defined correctly, mutatiamutandis, accept my perspective, why won't you forgive someone who hitherto is nothing but a female friend to you and not yet be,if soon may, under any agreement of marriage with you when you can easily forgives your male friends?
I think we should learn to learn and acknowledge, appropriately,if necessary, distinctively draw the difference between a "Girlfriend" and a "Wife." A girlfriend I submit cannot cheat only a wife can. .........You just dey confuse urself wit grammar... |

Romance › Re: My Affair With A Generous Aristo by ceononi: 8:02pm On Jun 08, 2015 |
Naijasinglegirl: NCC had issued a deadline to all Nigerians to register their SIM cards before a certain date or risk being disconnected from their various service providers.
I happened to be one of those found wanting a day to the stated deadline. That Thursday, I abandoned everything on my schedule with the aim of registering my MTN sim card before the end of the day. When I got to their office, I was the 370th person to join the longest queue of my life. From my calculations, it was going to take nothing less than three hours before they got to my turn.
Just when I was beginning to lose hope, the security personnel assigned to maintain order on the queue took me to the front where I was attended to promptly.
I thought it was sheer luck only for me to receive a phone call from one of their senior staff that night. Apparently, he had been my knight during the day and I didn't need to interrogate him on how he got my contact details.
He said the only way I could thank him for his help was to pay him a visit.
I was a bit sceptical to meet up a total stranger so I lied I was travelling out of town the next day and I'd return in five months time.
In the weeks that followed by, he kept tormenting me with his incessant phone calls with a promise to stop only if I come to town to see him.
Tired of playing mice&cat games, I told him I was going to come the following weekend.
He suggested a Sunday at his office since he worked 7 days a week and the time was fixed.
When I got there, the strange man sneaked up behind me, grabbed me by my waist and placed me beside one of those mainframe computers MTN uses in typing their annoying spam sms.
He stood at an intimidating height of 6'6.
Initially, I was nervous and scared at the same time.
I told him I won't be spending more than two hours with him as I had to travel back to my base in the afternoon. He didn't object to that.
When he caught me staring at the MR biggs across his office, he offered to buy me 'food'.
Well, I'm not the type that says no to free food from Mr Biggs.
I was expecting him to return with their signature yellow/red polythene only for him to shatter my heart by sending this very sad text message.
'Shaki or Pomo?'
I panicked when I read it. When did Mr Biggs introduce shaki and pomo to their menu? I wondered.
I was still trying to make sense of his question when he returned to the office with one covered 555 stainless plate and glass bottled fanta.
''*Naijasinglegirl* you didn't reply my message in time so I got you one shaki and two boiled eggs to go with your rice&stew." he said.
Look at this stingy man oh. Supposing I had truly come in from another town, it means I came all the way to eat dirty mamaput from God knows where.
I didn't say a word but deep down, I knew there was no way I was going to touch that 555 plate with the star&moon spoon he was holding.
As if that was not enough insult, he took one of my eggs (the larger one) and ate it in my presence! Such disrespect! Then he opened my fanta and drank directly from it. When he placed half of the fanta on the table, bits of eggs yolk were swimming in my drink.
I was so disgusted. At that point I regretted not using etisalat network. LoL.
Then he came over to where I sat and attempted to give me a peck with his smelly egg mouth.
That was when I saw his wedding band...
"Your ring is fine." I said.
"Thanks." He replied in a slimy nonchalant way.
There was a deafening silence for some minutes. Then he got talking again.
"You see...I am very attracted to you and it would be nice if we get to know ourselves intimately...you never can tell where it might lead us to."
Being the outspoken girl that I am, I had nothing to lose so I said, "Lead me to some place as your second wife? So you want me to be your extramarital affair partner? So that I will be having sexual intercourse with you? How long have you been committing adultery sef?"
Surprisingly, he burst into laughter.
When the laughter had subsided, he went on to tell me how he was disappointed I couldn't appreciate his honesty.
In his words, the fact that he revealed his marital status showed he cared and he is serious about me. *sigh*
It was no use arguing with him. Maybe I would considered his aristo offer if we couldn't afford shaki in my house or if I had not eaten pomo before.
One hour had passed and I was more than anxious to leave.
When I made my announcement. He handed me one N500 note and one packet MTN tshirt from his office cabinet as if I am one of those MTN marketers that use to dance shoki in front of computer village.
Just imagine the insult.
He got my message clearly when I turned down his MTN shirt, his N500, his fanta, his mamaput rice, his egg, his shaki, his peck, his aristo offer and his peepee.
The generous aristo never bothered me again.

Family › Re: Was I Wrong To Have Moved Out Of My Parents' Place? by ceononi: 7:35pm On Mar 23, 2015 |
masonkz: So I recently moved out of my parents' place at Ajah to my own mini flat at Oniru. This happened about 2 months ago, January precisely. The problem is..my parents have been angry ever since I took the decision to leave.
The facts: I'm 24 I'm the third child of five I've been working for four years in the corporate world. Intelligent, smart, very nice, the dream of every parent, except for the last part... I'm gay.
Reasons I moved out:
1.The traffic from Ajah to my work place in VI can be killing and I have not intention to continue that way into the future, whatever number of years my parents may feel I should stay with them more for. I hate spending time in traffic, to and fro, and it can be very much frustrating for the most part.
2. I need my privacy. My parents are the very clingy type who wanna know every thing that's going on in your life. Who visits you, who you visit, the state the person is from and even down to the person's local government. If I dare stay a night out of home, even after giving them an excuse, na quarrel the next day be that. My mum feels i should actually "marry" her first, before thinking of marrying any other girl.
3. I actually wanna start distancing myself a little from my parents, to slowly let the know the real me..and the fact that their expectation of me may not hold, especially with me being gay. I feel if I start distancing myself, I won't have to be totally depressed, along with them, in the event that they finally get to know about my sexuality...which they may soon come to know about.
Apart from that I just feel i need some space at this time of my life. Just staying on my own. I probably don't have enough time before the talks of marriage starts creeping in and the pressure starts coming from all angles to get married to a girl. So I just wanna have the pleasure of actually living my life while visiting my parents and siblings occasionally. So far I've been enjoying staying alone. Finally feel I'm free from just so many ropes. I can invite anyone over without having to explain myself, keep late nights at the office without having to feel the need to report at home why I'm staying out late, or even party out late in rare cases.
Like I said the whole concept of staying alone doesn't fit in well with my parents and I often see the sad face my mum wears whenever I visit, and it's starting to make me feel guilty. But again, don't I also deserve to be happy on my own?? I've tried talking to them but they still feel I'm too young to be staying alone, and that it's just not right. I mean this is four years of me being financially independent. Why should I continue staying with them.
While all these may be too late since it's been 2 months already, I'd still like to know people's opinion on this. Maybe I'm the wrong one, or maybe there are just some things I still need to discuss with them. Dunno . What do you guys think? You know when to leave when this happens:

babyosisi:
LONDON OWHOFASA AKPANOKO What's the bounty on his head , the earlier the better, if they truly want to catch this man, they better put something so I can join them in the chase ....Who knows maybe he has been roaming the street of Lagos unnoticed.
Akpanoko speaks English and a Nigerian language, possibly Yoruba. He resided in Atlanta, Georgia, and had ties to the New York City, New York, area. He is known to have crossed into Canada in February of 2013, and then flew from Canada to Germany and then on to Ghana in West Africa. In the past, he has visited Nigeria, Ghana, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
CAUTION From approximately February of 2007 until October of 2012, London Akpanoko allegedly participated in an advance fee fraud scam that targeted dozens of individuals in the United States and elsewhere as part of an African Criminal Enterprise. The victims received e-mails and phone calls informing them of a sum of money that they would receive. The reasons for receiving the money varied between victims, but the most common reasons were an inheritance or some type of investment scheme. In order to receive the money, the victims were informed that they had to pay a fee. The fees were sent to numerous bank accounts and individuals located in the United States and overseas. The investigation has identified approximately forty victims and approximately five million dollars in loss. Akpanoko was allegedly an active participant in tricking victims to provide money as part of the scam. On January 8, 2013, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Akpanoko in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, Newark, New Jersey, after he was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.

Family › Re: I'm Confused: My Wife's Pressuring Us To Relocate To Another Apartment!!!!! by ceononi: 1:26pm On Feb 20, 2015 |
dein77: Good evening, my able people. I initially wanted to post this thread on RELIGION section, but on a second thought, I considered it will make more sense to post it here. The issues to be discussed cut across FAMILY and RELIGION, hence my confusion over which section it should be posted.
My wife's been having recurrent nightmares. Seriously, she hardly have a smooth night. Its all screams and screams, and incessant dreams of death hovering around us. We have prayed and fasted, but the dreams keep coming. Whenever I'm on night shift, I'm also worried about her safety back home. Its either she dreams of our kids having serious attacks or herself being under attacks. Its really challenging.
A few weeks ago, we visited a pastor, and after some discussions he suggested we should relocate to another apartment/place. I pretended like I didnt hear him. When we got home, my wife brought the issue up again and I told her we werent going anywhere. I told her we should continue praying and believe God to see us through. We've been in our current apartment for a little over 5 years. Now she says shes no longer comfortable with the house and that we must relocate. Honestly, she hardly enjoys the place. Whether or not it got anything to do with what our pastor told us, I couldnt tell.
Today, she brought it up again. She had gone to see her business colleague, and according to her they zoomed off into religious stuff, and the issue of our house and the bad dreams came up. Of course, her pastor friend also suggested we relocate. A little argument came up and i had to leave the house. I'm typing from the office; night duty things.
My stand is this: being a Christian over a decade, plus knowing the fact relocating to a new place may not necessarily stop the attacks, I still believe we should ask some of our pastors to come over to our house and join us in prayer. I believe a Christian shouldnt run from demonic attacks, but should instead fight back and withstand these foes. Its my belief shaa!
I just renewed our rent for the year a few days ago. But my wife is still insisting we relocate. Her health and happiness, needless to say, is very important to the both of us, and I dont want to appear insensitive and selfish. What should I do? What if she is right? Should I stand my ground? What if I'm wrong? Too many thoughts crossing my mind. That will be the third place we will be relocating to within our axis.
Whats the best way to handle this situation? Please, I will appreciate all meaningful suggestions and advice....
Thanks, in advance. Why do I find something fishy about this .... I believe if any of are dreams had been about your demise all through, I'm sure you will be miles away from that house, or is there something your benefiting that we don't know of? Bro. if you truly value the and love your wife, and you really want her to be happy then you should find accommodation some other places... |
