PoliticsRe: Why Do We Still Have The Arabic Inscription On Our Higher Currency Notes? by cfours: 1:06am On Jan 08, 2013
tomakint: The crux of the matter is, 'Nigeria is not an Islamic State' why still having the inscription on our higher denominations is that not a sign of arrogance and self-centredness from our northern brothers?
This is an ignorant statement.
Move to biafra and print your own christian(english) currency. kapish.
since you clearly are intolerant of co-existence.

I'm not surprised that it's mostly the ibos who have a problem with the north being represented on our (NIGERIAN) currency.

PoliticsRe: Why Do We Still Have The Arabic Inscription On Our Higher Currency Notes? by cfours: 2:35am On Jan 07, 2013
ezeagu: Why?
tomakint: You sef wonder why I am curious because where the Arabic Inscription was placed tells you there is more to it than the ordinary! Besides, it's the same with what you have on the #100, #200 #500 and the question still comes, WHY?
If you southerners can't understand the arabic parts. how do you expect the northerners to understand the english part.
stop embarassing yourselves with your ignorance abeg. Nigeria is not made up of south only.
PoliticsRe: Why Do We Still Have The Arabic Inscription On Our Higher Currency Notes? by cfours: 2:28am On Jan 07, 2013
tomakint: @outrage, I have heard you but you have still not explained the real meaning of the inscription as I expected you to!
^ can you read at all!! huh

outrage: Its the amount written in arabic caligraphy but in hausa pronounciation..

It has nothing islamic about it, so fear not.

CFCfan: ^^^
Tinubu don become Ghandi? shocked
Hahahaha grin. I think say na Oluremi Tinubu dey think like Ghandi. As OBJ would say, "I dey laugh".

#OluremiTinubu2015.
did you live in Lagos while he was governor? you should have seen all the billboards.LOL
it was composed of a picture of Tinubu, Ghandi and Awolowo wearing similar looking eyeglasses. and then a quote next to the picture that says "great minds think alike"

Do you understand what I am saying. He is using Awolowo's name to get power which would have been good if he was working but rather he is just acquring more and more wealth for himself and family rather than the people he is leading over.
LOL I remember his "great minds think alike" campaign. where he ( Gov. Tinubu) put billboards all over Lagos to show that he, Awolowo and Ghandi look think alike. hahahah grin
I think there were TV ads about it as well.

afam4eva: you can pass your message without resulting to insults
So, in what context should it be used. We learn everyday...
you can pass your message without it resulting in insults
you can pass your message without resorting to insults
wink

it's pretty obvious that "resorting" is the word you were looking for based on the grammatical structure of your sentence.
the two words have different meanings by the way. 'resulting' and 'resorting' do not mean the same thing!!
PoliticsRe: Nairaland Igbo And Yoruba New Years Peace Convention by cfours: 3:58am On Jan 02, 2013
Metalgoong: This peace convention is a Greek gift being offered by yaribas people. . .
Wise Igbo men and women should reject this proposal right away . .
Yoruba people are betrayers - trust them and they will back-stab you and splash their polythene bag packaged corrosive shyyte on your face!
where is Afam!! grin
PoliticsRe: Nairaland Igbo And Yoruba New Years Peace Convention by cfours:
MegaMan2020: But lagos is in Yorubaland. Period. All the people of power in Yorubaland are Yorubas for a reason. Sop Igbos such as yourself should stop acting like you own the place just because you run there by the millions. It's not even just Lagos any more is it? it's even spread to villages in Ibadan and Ogun state. Respect your hosts for a change!!!
LOL abi o grin
I think they are confused because they assume that yorubaland functions the same way as igboland
They don't know that pretty much ALL of SW is YORUBA. infact, part of Benin (the country)sef and even extending toward Togo.
but you don't see us claiming Porto-Novo or Cotonou which are pretty much almost yoruba cities. grin we just see them as kins sharing our language and culture that's all. we yorubas see our ethnic group as a cultural unit. I think igbos see it more as a political unit hence their aggressiveness and our laid-back ness. we let our strong culture work for us and relax. while many igbos feel the need to play (unnecessary and sometimes destructive) power-tussles to flex weak muscles. lol

the funny thing is that even if million igbos live in Lagos, we will absorb them and assimilate them into the yoruba culture. we have been doing it since time memorial and we will continue to do it. 90% of the so called igbo people in lagos, ibadan or wherever are wearing iro and buba complete with gele and singing "oti se o bab ti se o" in the redeemed churches. Most of the younger generation can speak yoruba but can't speak a lick of igbo.
the stubborn ones that want to remain attached to SE can move back to igbo-land if they're not happy.
PoliticsRe: Nairaland Igbo And Yoruba New Years Peace Convention by cfours:
Ikengawo: Igbos are greater in number in Port Harcourt as a percentage than yorubas are in Lagos.
Yoruba people need to stop acting as if Lagos is strictly 'yoruba land' because igbos are ok with saying Port Harcourt isn't completely igbo.
who cares if PH is Igbo? huh I have never seen any yoruba tearing his/her hair out arguing that PH belongs to yorubas. most yorubas have never even been anywhere near PH. that's between you and the minority tribes to fight out. But of course if they come to us to side them in the debate (ex. secession/biafra border dispute etc) then we will gladly oblige.
if PH is igbo, then claim it as Igbo. If you have restraints in calling it igbo. then it's your guilty consicience working in you.
No yoruba has any guilty consience about calling Lagos a yoruba state. because it is!!
Eko O ni baje. the history, the traditions. All yoruba.

I thought Jarus resigned because Seun gave him a public tongue lashing for allowing Achebe to be voted 2012 hall of shame inductee grin
