TV/MoviesRe: Nigerians Are Cowards (Half Of A Yellow Sun Casting) by cfours: 9:01am On Jan 31, 2012
It really all comes down to money at the end of the day and how best to capture the most audience.
nigerians are likely to watch it even if the film is made for a primarily american viewers. but the opposite is not the case.

I like you.
At least you are blunt in your opinion that marriage should be used as a trap to keep hold to someone.
don't misquote me abeg.

marriage is for the more mature minded. it's not for those who just want to have fun without any serious responsibility attached like a dating relationship.  OP should learn her lesson and move on to a more eligible bachelor. Her fault for staying with the guy for 8yrs. She should have left long before.
PoliticsRe: Michelle Obama's 22 Aides Vs Gej 24 Aides. by cfours: 2:36am On Jan 30, 2012
@shy-one, this is not a classroom. There is nothing wrong with quoting wikipedia on a forum. Also, plenty of students use it despite your belief. The key is to cite the reference at the bottom of the wikipedia page rather than wikipedia itself.

in fact, wikipedia is much more reliable than the blog quoted in the original post claiming Michelle Obama has 22 aides.
no one on this thread has any factual information concerning the number of Ms. Obama's aides. we are relying on a random right-wing blogger's opinion. isn't that funny?
Music/RadioRe: America Idol: They Sing Their Music, Nigerian Idol: We Sing Their Music Too. by cfours: 4:57pm On Jan 29, 2012
Ozegbe:
my problem is why cant we sing our own song in our own idol. MUST WE SING AMERICA MUSIC. has anybody notice this?
don't you see the fallacy in your statement? Is the show really ours?
why do we have "nigerian idol"? is it not because we are trying to emulate "american idol"?

i'm sure you have seen the SA idol with the lady putting an African twist to her song. she got ridiculed off the stage by millions.
lesson: when on an "idol" show, sing like the Americans! It's an American show originally afterall.

CultureRe: Why Are The Hausas And Fulanis Co-joined In One Tribe - Hausa/fulani? by cfours: 4:51pm On Jan 29, 2012
this is why i say that Nigeria will be a mess if we break up. then all the formerly un-discussed differences among each "tribe" will start to show up.
Even the Igbos are not as homogeneous as we think. neither are the yorubas.
people say there are 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria for a reason. let's stay united under one Nigeria abeg.
PoliticsRe: Michelle Obama's 22 Aides Vs Gej 24 Aides. by cfours: 4:47pm On Jan 29, 2012
there is nothing wrong with GEJ having 24 aides as long as they are being productive for the country. Otherwise, he needs to get rid of them.

Silly man, Sudan is a bad example to use. The East does not suffer from poverty like other parts of Nigeria or even South Sudan. So don't compare south Sudan to the East. Igbos go elsewhere because of the economic opportunity. The compeition is very tough in Ala-igbo. An igbo man knows that he has a good chance at succeeding in less competive enviroments where other groups don't have the brains and/or the hustle like he does. This is the reason we go to other parts of the country. I will not go into the economic might of Igbos overseas. You should know by now so I do not need to go there. When Biafra comes we will be able to create jobs after we regain control of OUR oil in Ala-igbo. It is simple economics.
The east most likely suffers from worse poverty than South Sudan.
competition is very tough in ala-igbo to the extend that thousands risk death to escape it. hmm is "competition" a code word for "poverty"?

and igbos do not have economic might overseas as you say. they are mostly known for spare parts and 419. the ones that are successful are integrated into their host society that they do not even associate strongly with igboland. the rest are rare exceptions.

even if Biafra comes tomorrow. 80% of it's citizens will still be living abroad. this is caused by poverty combined with lack of sense of society. they historically were never organized anyway.

please don't deceive yourself.

Lmao at "we command respect". . .

What respect do you command? More like always coming off as brash and abrasive.

Living in fantasy doesn't make "it" reality; its still fantasy!!!
I'm speaking from my experience interacting with Africans abroad. we are held in high esteem and it's just a perceived power that's self perpetuating.
. . .but of course if you are an asshole you will be treated like one. so your experiences may be different from mine.

Regarding why the negro worships the white man, everyone admires power and success
what comes first? the chicken or the egg?
are white people powerful because blacks look up to them?
or do blacks look up to them because they are powerful?

for example, look at Nigeria's position in relation to other countries in Africa.
we certainly don't have the highest gdp per capita
but we command the most respect because of the way we carry ourselves and look down on other africans

You are so so ignorant about the facts. BTW, Igbos aint leaving until Nigeria separates. So if you want Lagos left alone by Igbos, you know what to do.
Igbos still won't leave the north and south west if Nigeria separates. this is a no brainer as any place (no matter how violent) is better than the east.

ask the south sudanese. they got their independence almost a year ago but up to a million of them are still in North Sudan refusing to return to their poverty stricken country. what gives?
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/26/us-sudan-south-idUSTRE80P24A20120126

we really need to follow their situation closely as it's in a way similar to ours.

I agree! If you have watched the video of police raid after the first Boko haram onslaught in Maiduguri where innocent and unarmed civilians where randomly selected and shot in the head and in the heart, you will agree that the nigerian security forces cannot be trusted. They surely would want to make a statement by killing unarmed civilians and lied that it was the BH that did itm They have done it before and they can do it again.
this is why many northerners are indifferent toward BH. If the govt is committing these kind of acts against the northern people, then what other motivation does a northerner need to join BH?
PoliticsRe: Should The World Help Break Up Nigeria In Order To Save It? by cfours: 10:42pm On Jan 28, 2012
how are we sure things won't get 10x worse if Nigeria disintegrates?

we should start slowly by going back to regionalism and then break away from there. Otherwise, things are going to be very chaotic like Sudan and South Sudan are right now.
RomanceRe: How Do You End An 8 Years Old Relationship? by cfours: 9:12pm On Jan 28, 2012
Married couples daily lives can be more intertwined,
this is the difference between dating and marriage. You can't easily just call it quits on marriage esp with children and other social and financial investments. couples will usually try to make it work whether the relationship has become boring or not. unlike dating where people can break up over silly things without any consequences.

Now that she's approaching 30. it won't be easy to find a new partner. She has wasted her years on the guy.
this is a lesson for young women out there. get out of the relationship if after 2-3yrs the guy hasn't "put a ring on it"
and get out even faster if you feel your time is running out. women supposedly have a "shelf life" after all.

It would make sense if the husband also wore a crazy outfit.
but with the esoteric wedding gown and conventional groom' suit and tie, the whole thing look off!

the husband should have gone with the flow like these couples. weird but cute:

Pick your choice:

A.  marry a girl/guy who is boring but your relationship is likely to last a lifetime.
B.  marry an exciting girl/guy but this relationship will be short lived.
C.  marry a mixture of A and B where your relationship will last longer than B but not last as long a A.
