I don't like generalizing, I know of an igbo guy that squarts in a church with two Yoruba guys for over three years. It was after he joined that he started learning how to play the keyboard, I also taught him, he learns from others too, all for free. Now he can play at least to a standard, he now collects 20k monthly from the church, he said it's because he no longer lives there. The other guys too no longer lives there, but one plays the drum while the other is their lead singer. He is the only one collecting money. I'm not saying it's bad to collect money but if he wants to be paid, he could have seeked such in another church, but he knows his level is not up to 20k yet. The day is level reach there, he would go seek a church that will pay higher.
Now, I'm not generalizing, cos I have Igbo friends that are instrumentalists and they would never do such. However, igbos on Nairaland are pathetic, they turn someone into a bigot.
