mike404: Please, learn how to use Nairaland. Stop wasting space. You didn't have have to quote all that. You quoted all that just to drop the "comment" above. Quote only the relevant portion of a post you want to respond to. OK? Rather than quoting that lengthy post only to respond to a line of it, you could have just quoted something like this: lalaosky: Dr.Nnamdi Azikiwe:President (Ceremonial)1960-1966 - Born on November 16, 1904, he hails from Nnewi in Anambra State...... or, You can respond without quoting at all, just prefix your comment with @OP 1 Like |

Career / Re: Any Hope For Oracle Professionals In Nigeria? by charlsecy4(m): 6:38pm On Sep 27, 2012 |
ekt_bear: I am a bit surprised that MSSQL seems to be more relevant than Oracle in Nigeria. The opposite is true in most other places, no? Oracle is the top dog in most markets. In Nigeria, most things work the other way round. For examples, in more advanced countries, Insurance Companies normally own Banks, but in Nigeria, however, most Insurance Companies are Subsidiaries of Banks. If you steal in billions of Naira, you will be set free, but if you steal in hundreds or thousands, you will land in jail. 1 Like |

Jobs/Vacancies / Advice: Customs And Immigration, which is preferable? by charlsecy4(m): 8:03pm On Sep 26, 2012 |
A friend of mine called me this evening, asking me to make a choice for her. She has been asked to choose between Customs and Immigration. She is yet to make up her mind. She wants to know which of the two, Customs and Immigration, is better in terms of pay, security and other factors. Which of the two has better prospects, and why? Thanks for your informed suggestions. |

abhosts: I truly believe that God Prospers indeed. I now Earn a 7 digit Monthly Income and have all the good that life has to offer. That's good, but that's NOT the primary purpose of Christianity. Having the "good" things of life does not necessarily indicate holiness. 1 Like |

There is nothing wrong in people selling vultures. The only problem is when they make you believe they are chickens - "chicken impersonation." Just let people know they're vultures so they can make an informed decision. |

The people in government who are capable of providing standard healthcare in Nigeria, but have failed to do so will continue to die as they fly abroad to get that same thing for themselves that they have denied the masses, until they do the right thing. 3 Likes |
Politics / What Manner Of Political System Do You Think Nigeria Needs This Time? by charlsecy4(m): 9:08pm On Sep 19, 2012 |
Autocrat! Yes, I am of the opinion that what Nigeria needs at this time is a well-intentioned, strong-willed, powerful autocrat. In an autocratic system, provided the leader is well-intentioned, intelligent and have the political zeal, he can turn things around. The problem with Nigerian democracy is that even if the leader is of good reputation, too many people in the government could spoil his good plans because of their selfish interests, and trying them could be problematic because of their "power" and some imperfection of the legal system. If, for example, the president wanted to upgrade our electricity to optimal specification, strong cabals that benefited from the electricity failure could sabotage the good plan. However, if he were autocratic and wanted the electricity fixed, no man could stand on his way. Assuming our democracy is not working, what do you think is the way forward? |
Food / Re: Divorce Celebrated With Cake (pic) by charlsecy4(m): 9:50pm On Sep 18, 2012 |
The rate at which marriages/relationships collapse now is assuming a social symbol status in our society. In few years' time, people will be throwing divorce parties and inviting friends and well-wishers to celebrate their divorce anniversaries; they will choose aso-ebi, hire a hall and popular musicians. Even a question like "So when are you getting divorced?" will become commonplace. |
