The truth of the matter is that; it can be done by the road side SIM Registration outlets and if I were you, I would walk up to any to have my SIM re-registered there and probably give a token as low as #100 considering the stress one would go through at any of MTN walk-in centres.

I thought so too but discovered they didn't yesterday. Everyone has to go to the MTN offices now.

What an hospital really needs are medical/surgical consumables.

Some things that can however be customised are bedsheets and pillow cases. Here the bigger the hospital (number of beds), the better.

If it's a teaching hospital, there will be professional associations which hold events from time to time. You can then make many different souvenirs for them.

I went there today @11 am, saw a mammoth crowd (in port Harcourt, heard only 2 centers are working) and they expect me to join that.... I left their, I will NEVER go their for any registration, if they deactivate it, I get another line (I do not even think they will risk loosing a customer like me) ...

MTN Please Stop This Torture In Zaria!!!

I registered my MTN sim early last year.

I heard people say MTN sent them messages to update their registration. They talked about the inconveniences they faced but I didn't really understand.

Just last week MTN sent me the dreaded message. I panicked because that number is on all important forms I've ever filled. It's the number I also use for business.

I cancelled every engagement for this last Thursday and went to the only MTN Connect store in Zaria at Tudun Wada. Tudun Wada is about 30 minutes from my place but can take an hour when there's much traffic. It took me about 50 minutes.

The crowd there was big. I was told there was a very long waiting list and they were no more taking names for the day. I had missed important activities yet couldn't register.

I got an MTN text last night just like many people did saying their offices would be open from 7am to 10pm today.
I planned to spend the whole Saturday at their office if I needed to. I just wanted to get this thing done.

I left home some minutes past 7am and got to their Tudun Wada office a few minutes to 8am.
I joined the queue to write my name. I stood for about 3 hours till 11am when the workers said they would not take any more names even though we'd waited for hours. Weren't they supposed to close by 10pm?

People were very angry but we were peaceful maybe because of the armed soldiers present there.

What was annoying was that some people were smuggled through the back door on arrival with the consent/help of the soldiers.

Now to MTN,

1. Why tell me to register again after you had acknowledged my previous registration?

2. Why threaten to deactivate my number when I had no fault?

3. Why put me through this inconvenience because of your inefficiencies?

4. Why not monitor your agents and ensure they do the proper thing?

5. Why not engage more agents? Kaduna is the third most populous state in Nigeria with over 6 million people. About 1 million of these people are in Zaria which is the sixth biggest city in Nigeria. Why only one incompetent agent huh

I don't want any bonus from you. Please keep it.
I just want my peace of mind.

Seun, Lalasticlala please let MTN see this and help us.

Since you've said you go out of your way to look for threads by women, I can only encourage you to continue.
Fairness is not giving equal opportunities to different groups. It is giving opportunities that will put different groups on an equal footing even if those opportunities are not equal.

Anyone that takes nl very seriously does so at their own risks. I'm a lady and most times I'm not bothered by whatever makes fp on nl because nl isn't reality. Lalasticlala can approve any post he wants to make fp, I take it all as a pinch of salt cos the posts do not add or subtract from me, rather they're amusing and add colour to an otherwise dull, dry and humourless day in our beloved Nigeria with its plenty issues. Where's ur sense of humour op?

I just feel there's this whole psychological genocide against women in Nigeria with the attackers and victims not even aware of their roles. The women I've known are not at all close to the stereotypes being humorously created.
Maybe I'm getting old sha, maybe.

What you forget is that those that run those companies mostly graduated with good grades. They earn real money and added perks not some two-year endorsement deals.

And stop assuming every entertainer had poor grades in school. Falz did well and you can sense the intelligence in his music.

Those grades were created for a reason.

Yes there are people who graduate with poor grades and eventually become successful but the majority end up achieving limited success in life. Those who become successful put in the hard work they neglected in school.

Good grades in school are not due to brilliance alone. They're also due to hard work, diligence, self-control, discipline, responsibility, good planning, focus, tenacity and other qualities.

Outside school, these qualities also make good employees (and employers) so it's only rational for recruiters to prefer graduates with such grades to others.

So if you're still in school make your good grades so that things will likely be easier for you outside school. A strong foundation is always a good thing.

The number of threads mocking or insulting women is alarming. There's no day we won't see a derogatory thread on women on Nairaland.

Is there a systematic campaign to run women down. The fact that these threads make the front page encourages more people to create similar ones. Why do these threads interest the moderators so much?

What is the percentage of female moderators on Nairaland?

Isn't there a limit to humour? Are people not accepting these stereotypes subconsciously?

Don't the creators of these threads have ethical values? Do they respect women and womanhood? Should they be applauded or chastised?

These threads used to amuse me but now they alarm me.

There are many teenagers and young adults here who groom their minds with things they pick here. Is it not ethical of Seun and his moderators to try to promote good values in this country?

I created a thread showing what a talented young lady did and it never made front page.

You want to commit suicide because of academic failure. That will only confirm that you're all round unintelligent rather than just not good academically. Do you want people to think of you that way after you're gone? I guess not.

Thank God your mother knows already. Here's what you need to do.
1. Keep your money and stop the Father Christmas in the name of "runs".
2. Face the courses you spilled squarely and pass them. If you have to turn the personal assistant of the guru in the new final year class, do it. No shame in it.
3. At this stage, it's likely you've lost passion for your course if you ever had it that is. So you make new life goals and plan how to achieve them from your present status.
In no time, you'll be a happy person again. Good luck.
