Please explain.

Foreign AffairsEritrea Now Asks Men To Marry At Least Two Wives Or Face Imprisonment! by Chartey(op): 9:52am On Jan 26, 2016
Kenyans have received the news of mandatory polygamy
by men in Eritrea with a mix of bewilderment and
excitement.
Activists have posted a memo allegedly by the
Government of Eritrea asking men to marry at least two
wives due to acute shortage of men occasioned by
casualties during the civil war with Ethiopia.
In the statement written in Arabic assures of government
support to the polygamous marriages.
The activists translate it thus, "Based on the law of God in
polygamy, and given the circumstances in which the
country is experiencing in terms of men shortage, the
Eritrean department of Religious Affairs has decided on
the following .”
First that every man shall marry at least two women and
the man who refuses to do so shall be subjected to life
imprisonment with hard labour.
“The woman who tries to prevent her husband from
marrying another wife shall be punished to life
imprisonment,” alleges the activists in their translation.
And Kenyans have reacted to these announcements with
bemusement with some suggesting if they could change
their citizenship immediately and take advantage of the
new laws in the country.
“At this rate, I can see the Eritrea Government spreading
new embassy outlets in Kakamega, Embu, Siaya and
Busia counties to help hasten visa processing,” said one
Kenyan on facebook.
“He is so so considerate of women! That's good of him,”
said another.
The Standard could not immediately authenticate the
document nor the translation and it was not clear why the
statement was not in the other two national languages,
Tigrinya and Tigre.
The May 1998 to June 2000 Eritrean-Ethiopian war saw
150,000 soldiers killed from either sides but having a
bigger impact on male population in the tiny Eritrea nation
who were then just 4million people in total.

worst part of the whole issue is that you appear to have decent academic education. too bad you didn't acquire humanity and commonsense to go along with it.

irony of your argument is that you think one set of foreigner is better placed to make your country better compared with another.you don't even have the decency to apply the rubbish to your own people so that we rationalise your thoughts to mean nationalism or some other variant of Bullshit.

I don't think a thread is necessary. It will give some sellers undue advantage as someone pointed out. What's scary however is that it will build people's trust in them enormously and it will be a disaster when they turn bad and run with people's money.

Nigerians and copy cat.

Why should this make front page. The original writer is writing about American medical schools.
First year medical school in Nigeria is very different. Americans first have to obtain a first degree before medical school, then proceed for a 4 years Med. School.

In Nigeria we do 6 years straight. This article has no relevance to Nigerian medical schools/ students.
The standard text book for pathology is not Robbins(that's for US schools) and our first years don't do H&P until 4th.

Copy and paste with no relevance to the intended readers; and gbam it makes front page.

Interesting!!
Reallyhuh In which medical school please? It's standard in the Nigerian schools i know.

I'm find it hard to believe you're either a medical student or doctor. There's no way a medical student will not RELATE to these whether the author is American or not.
And FYI, medical students here write USMLE too and therefore use First Aid and many HY books.

PhonesRe: Sim Registration: Crowd At Zaria MTN Office by Chartey(op): 7:42pm On Jan 10, 2016
og2711:
My pleasure. The reason most people find it hard to switch mobile networks is because they don't want to lose their unique phone number, which most likely has been given out to numerous contacts.

Porting, or Mobile number portability (MNP) is a way to switch networks without losing your number and possible access to contacts. What it does is to take your phone number from your old network such as MTN and assign it to whatever new network you may need. That is why sometimes you call A GLO line and the ringtone will sound like that of MTN. such a guy has 'ported' from GLO to MTN.

All you need to do is go to the office of the new network you want to use (eg Etisalat) and they will give you a new sim. That's all!
Thanks very much. I just wish the minimum time to spend on the new network was less than than 3 months.

Nigerians with their crowd rush ignorant mentallity, you are the customer MTN should be begging you to come to them, when some mad man blows himselves/people up there in the name of allah You will have yourselves to blame. For queueing outside MTN office
Many people there had registered last year.
PhonesRe: Sim Registration: Crowd At Zaria MTN Office by Chartey(op): 11:54am On Jan 10, 2016
og2711:
You, like all other Nigerians, are only on that queue because of the free credit. Why you cannot just port to another network is beyond me..
I use more than that promised credit in two weeks. I don't need it. Can you explain the porting process step by step? I'm sure others can also benefit.
PhonesRe: Sim Registration: Crowd At Zaria MTN Office by Chartey(op): 8:24am On Jan 10, 2016
khadaffi:
As painful as this may sound, you cannot port that number to another network because as it stands now you are not the owner of the line. The evidence that you own the line is when its registered in your name. This affected me when etisalat blocked my line then for this same purpose.
Na wa o. Which kind trap be dis?
