Herein lies the contradictory nature of some of you atheist ,this man clearly does not belief in the concept of a "God" but thanks same "God" he is an atheist ,in essence he is thanking a being he does not believe in for not believing in same being .

you don't believe in God so what God are you then thanking for been an atheist .shouldn't you be giving your thanks or appreciation to whatever else atheist thank for whatever good in their lives ?.

You simply cannot not believe in a God and make statements like "I thank God I am an atheist" ,it simply betrays a state of confusion .

Makes me think most of you atheist do not even understand the concept of been an atheist .Maybe it's fashionable to not believe in God or maybe there is an inner insecurity been an atheist helps some of you escape from but that's your fish to fry .

I am not here to foist any belief on anyone ,I could not ignore your posts after several post from you debunking the existence of a God .

Finally I have very liberal views when it comes to the subject of religion .I happen to be born into a very strong catholic family and naturally I became a Catholic but my decision to believe in a supreme being came out of very hard questions life has asked of me .

There comes a time when a thinking man asks hard questions like why do I even believe in God ,personal experiences help shape beliefs and my personal life experiences has led me to come to peace with the fact that there just had to be a God To make the things that have happened to me happen and there lies the reason for my belief .

Hopefully you also have an informed reason why you choose to not believe in a God ,your statement I quoted says contrary.

If you do not believe in a God you should not thank same or allude to same or even recognize same in any way or form wether seriously or even jokingly.

Let everyone seek greater understanding, life is filled with mysteries .

As a Nigerian Christian that recides in the West, I respect people and their Choices as we have many Atheist here. Still, when ever I see Nigerians back home say they are Atheist I truly wonder about that. Cos am like Are there really Nigerians that doesn't believe in The Supernatural, Spiritual realms, Powers.. etc.? I mean all the Ritual Killings are for fun and not real? Even on YouTube you could Watch videos of. Shango Festivals, and see things defying mother Nature and western sciences . Do not publicly and outrightly criticize God, lest you attract contempt and disdain for sacrilege. Remember how highly you also believed in this system?
Rather engage in a tolerant coexistence even though it is ddifficult watching others constantly try to shove their belief system down your throat. Only engage those with open minds who themselves are in search of the truth.
At work try as much as possible to play it down, to avoid being victimized by your colleagues in the name of fighting for God.

The atheophobic nature of our society is the major reason why most atheist are silent and will remain silent forever.

Just few days ago, my Christian friend was telling someone in disgust that i said i don't believe in god, that the way i argue about non-existence of god, he feels like slapping me (i know deep in his heart he means something grave).

I had to beg him not to let anyone else know about my non-believe before they team up and see it as service to their god to eliminate me.

I think it's wise i remain outspoken only online before some folks help their god to kill me
