You can both start now especially if you have not gotten a US visa before so that you can get early appointment and start all the other preparations after your visa is issued. August looks far but it is not. My view though. Wifeysist: Hello ifylicious I'm an August mama, i want to know how soon I can start processing the visa too, can we talk via mail? |

It is a pity what you are going through. Check Google maps to see if there is a bus route from the hospital to where ever you will move to.Riding the Metro to your prenatal Dr visits and other places will save you a lot of money. So that you will only need a cab when It is absolutely necessary. Be strong. Chanbaby: Pls my people how are we doing? Pls I currently have an issue at hand. I was met to use houston methodist sugarland but my sil said it's abit far from her place. Then I contacted an old friend and referred me to her sister but she said it's also far from her end that there is houston northwest medical center close to her. Then I asked if I could stay with her she said no problem. Because of the flexibility of her job she said she could pick me from the airport. I Went with plenty of African food but couldn't buy garri cos I was really stressed out doing the shopping alone. The first thing she she was did I bring garri? I said no. Then she said u were coming Nigeria u couldn't ask what I wanted. I realized I made a mistake there and I apologized and said I will make it up to her when my DH is coming. After 2days she called me and sat me down and said I offended her 3yrs ago and i didnt apologize. That I booked a flight without asking what day was convenient for her to pick me up and I also booked an appointment at th hospital without asking when was ok for her(i can remember I asked her before accepting the appointment date given). Then she said my husband knew I was coming to her and he couldn't call to appreciate her. I apologized on my DH behalf cos he is offshore. Then she said I used to be very proud and rude even though I was staying with her sister. May while she just described herself . I didn't say anything then she asked how old I was I told her she asked me to guess how she is. I knew but pretended not to know. Then she said she is 15yrs older than I am that I was messing around with her then. That I will soon be a mother tha is it with this my attitude I will raise a child. I felt bad in my mind with my attitude a man could marry me at a very young age and has never complained about me but u 40yrs+ no boyfriend. She now said do u know people pay 4 accomodation and utility bills to give birth here. That she is sacrificing a lot for me. That she could have refused me coming to her place but she didn't. She then asked but why ain't i staying with ur sil. I told her the reason being distance but she said that's not true that there is something else. She ranted and said a lot of nonsense. Then I told my DH to call her and she spoken to him without regard my DH was hurt but he just held himself and kept apologizing to her as she was talking. Now she is giving one kind of attitude. I really can't take it cos at my last appointment my blood pressure was a bit higher than the way it used to be back home and I really don't sleep well. Cos her own sil is around to give birth and she asked me to move out from the room for her into her own bedroom but she keeps saying she likes her privacy so I end up laying on the floor in the sitting room or sleep for like 2hrs in her room and come out. Even when she sees me on the floor she doesn't say anything she will just enter her room and lock the door. I don't really eat as such but wen she makes food, is after her and her sil had taken theirs she will now ask if I'm interested in eating. I must say she is doing a lot for me but d attitude isn't good at all. I want to move to my sil place and don't mind the distances (It's about 45mins drive) is it something I should consider? I really don't need all dis I need to be joyful for my baby. Pls my sil lives at southwest and the hospital is at cypress. Pls people that know houston pls advice me on how I can be getting to the hospital at a cheaper rate. Thanks a lot |

Documents for USA can only notorised by a USA authorized notary public. Just walk into the consulate in Lagos from Monday to Thursday between 10 am to 2pm. All the forms you need are there free fill the one you require and it will be notorised for you. I don't know how much it is right now with the dollar increase just go with NGN 100k you will surely come back with a lot of change. You can also check the website and send mail to LagosNIV@state.gov for the must up to date information. fatima04: Please where can i get notary lawyer in Lagos to help sign for passport form . thank you ooo. |

Well this one is tacky but if they intend to apply again they shouldn't go to the same embassy or consulate used in the previous 2. My take though KaptainAfrika: Guys, I need your assist here, thanks.
1st interview: The interview was coming to an end. VO: Are you going to use this visa, for anything else? (I guess they are tired of change of intent letter grin ) HUSBAND: No, Just for vacation. VO: Madam, are you pregnant? WIFE: Yes, I am. VO: How far along? WIFE: 3 Months. VO: Sorry your visa has been declined/rebuked/rejected.
2nd interview: I advised my friend to attend without her husband, for medical visa. This is two months after the first interview. She says the interviewer was the same dude that interviewed, her and her husband. VO: Why do you want to go to houston, texas? WIFE: For childbirth, I will be on maternity leave. VO: But in your last application, you said that you were going on vacation!? WIFE: Yes sir. We were going for vacation, but we have changed our minds and would like to have our child in the US (Probably should have apologised here instead and come clean sha I.M.H.O) VO: Your credibility is at risk. Two months is too short to change your mind. What do you at your place of work? (I guess he just asked this to fulfil all righteousness) WIFE: I do xyz. VO: Sorry your visa has been denied/rejected etc.
Guys, I suggested they come clean about their intentions. What would you advise? Also is there a place in the form for such? Thanks. I am not an expert and I would sincerely appreciate your inputs. Shalom! |

@placebo B1 is for tourism and business while B2 is for Medical That is why they usually give B1/B2. It is at POE that what ever you are there for will be written on your Passport[/quote] |

You will have an over sized luggage. The reason why they recommend 23kg or a little over is for ergonomics so as not to injure the handlers at loading and offloading (by giving them occupational injury ie back injury) Posh404: Good morning mamas in the house. please can i pack all my load in 1 place instead of having two 23kg bags. i would rather go with just 1 bag but surely weighs more than 23kg. i will be flying with lufthansa. |

I believe the loop hole is you not mentioning change of intent. Reapply and this time try to drop it in at the interview. MamaP003: Good evening all. Just joined nairaland but I have been following the thread as a guest.
I had my son last year in Elpaso. Got the visa for vacation but didn't use it until I went to give birth. Though I was asked if I pregnant at my interview and I said yes. Wrote change of intent email before I left.
I just applied for renewal via Dropbox and was called for an interview and was denied.
Transcript below.
VO: Good afternoon Me: Good afternoon(with a smile) VO: I see you gave birth in the US. Can I see your itemised bill. Me: (passed all my receipts to her) VO: How much did it cost in total Me: About 6k plus but there are other bills like hearing tests etc that I did but not included in the package. All receipts are here. VO: I see your bill shows more than that. Me: There was a package for self pay cash paying patients so there was a discount and it's shown on the receipt. VO: Why did you get your visa for vacation but go and give birth. Me: I couldnt go cos of work. VO: Why did you choose Elpaso. Me: My cousin in the US recommended it and it met my budget. VO: Did you have any complications Me: No. VO: According to the US immigration law, your application is not qualified for a visa. (hands me the yellow paper). This paper explains it.
Please house, has any one had this experience?
Gurus in the house, where did I go wrong and what do I do next. I've been to Dubai twice and UK three times. I forgot to mention to the VO that I informed the embassy about my change of plans. Don't know if this could have made a difference.
Plus what does itemised bill mean? Should I have had all my expenses on an excel sheet or what?
Please help. |

Very true drafrican: @ chan baby truth is this America thing is a big sacrifice especially in dis Buhari administration and trust me the last thing you want is to be stranded in the USA (that's when you will know to do moneygram you must be at the bank 6am only 2 transactions per day you may get 1 or 2 people but trust me you won't get 10 pple to queu 6am to 8 am for you also people have their own plans for their time allocation and after money gram charges the difference is slim and very few banks still do it a lot have stopped and for those that do Na serious stress and connect ur hussling with traders too)or for CBP to ask for ur cash and you don't have something substantial. What was your budget at the embassy ? Most mothers have noted they like to hear you have $10,000 cash on you or in ur American account. It's not easy but I advice you take at least 75 -80% of your money on you except you have paid the hospital bill and then you can say hubby is doing moneygram. Just avoid POE issues but if you can close eye buy it and hold ur cash .....I hate stories that touch!! |

That is possible. I have been interviewed in Paris enrout to the usa by their officials in 2011. Anything could have happened. fatima04: Hello house. Please i want to confirm from the experienced pple here, is it possible for visa to be revoked with /without prejudice at stop over's like Istanbul by USA officials. An agent just informed me that 3 of there clients were affected at Istanbul not there POE oo!
He said they got it for conference but using it for vacation was the reason stated.
Is this possible cos am not understanding ?? |

This confirms what i have been saying my dear. Send your friend the money to help perhaps semilore12: @chloe7 @Hopesprings @chibertha @TeeteeK...I appreciate all responses. so I sent my reservation to my friend in US with my access bank card details and still no luck. Immediately she selected nigeria as the billing address, it gave an error that the search should be done in country of residence. Unfortunately naija is not on the list for that when trying to search....serious headache. Who has another idea on how to book local flight again abeg, help a sis. |

but if you have a forex account with any of the foreign banks in Nigeria try them e.g standard chartered and stanbic ibtc try using them chloe7: Exactly what I was going to write, the billing address matters a lot, once it's a naija card the billing address is a naija billing address, the best alternative now is PayPal |

Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by chibertha(f): 11:42am On Dec 03, 2016 |
Answer 1. Buy your ticket ahead of time make sure it is at least 5hrs after landing at JFK to give room for immigration. From my experience it is usually tacky buying at the airport if you don't have a card that can be charged. The shortest route from JFK to Houston is usually Charllot ie JFK-Charlot-Houston with a 2 hours wait time at Charlot 2. Book one way incase you have to change your international leg so you don't have to start changing that leg too to save money 3 it is not compulsory to get both but ensure you get the usa passport from their first then use either an emergency travel certificate or Nigerian visa to get your LO home. Then when you get to Nigeria you go get Nigerian passport 4 for the car seat buy it in the states it's cheaper and go with it on the day of delivery. I hope I have been able to help out funmikay: Good morning mama's, FTM here. Please I'm trying to understand a few things.kindly assist . 1.When traveling and say JFK is my POE but final destination is Houston, can I get a flight at the airport or do I have to book ahead of time? 2.Which route would you advise to book at that point(one way or round trip)? 3.I noticed mama's processing both the US and naija passport for the LOs.Is it compulsory to process the naija passport and why? 4.As regards the LOs carseat,do i buy it from Lagos or in the US.Because I could tell from the forum that some hospitals require you to provide one before leaving the hospital.
Thanks so much. |
