It depends on the city you are at. If in Houston go to the gallaria downtown in the Macy's (if I am not mistaking) there is a stand for that. You can ask around in shopping centres where you are if not Houston. Swisstk: Someone kindly help out please.
How does one go about tax returns on items bought?
Is tax returns only done in the airport before departure or can it be done before heading to the airport?
How soon can one process it?
Thank you. |

Well said Shawbabe: Read through the thread, as it's "urgent"
Texas is the most discussed and used State on this thread. Not to mention Tx is big. There's El paso, Dallas, Houston, Arlington etc. These places have all been discussed here with prices and quotes. Put in work and READ THROUGH THE THREAD. |

What about a situation where the airline of choice doesn't go to the city you mentioned you're going to at visa interview. Oloye12345: I will STRONGLY advise you use the POE of the city you told the VO you are visiting. Except where the city doesn't have airport, then use the one very close...
Most people have encountered issues recently using a different POE compared to what they stated on their application. If you are straightforward, all POEs are easy. |

I don't think it can be notarized without date. However the document is valid for 90 days. It is better you do it very close to the day you leave so that it will still be valid at the time you will use it. ashedzi: Good Day all, pls from previous parts, Mummies here notarized their forms(without date on it) right from 9ja b4 going on their Missionary journey for those that DH won't be around when baby comes and some states accepted it. Is this still acceptable? Or I would have to wait for baby's arrival then DH books an appointment @ the Embassy and he sent to me thereafter?? |

@ ladee1 could you please see the attached nefertitiram: Congrats on your twin babies. God bless and keep them.
As your mind is already made up I don't understand what you want from us here. People with experience have chipped in.
Travelling at 36 weeks is a no no with multiple pregnancy. No doctor in this world should declare that fit to fly. God forbid if you were turned back at the POE which grammar will you speak? As your doc hubby was on board meaning what? He will be able to deliver you abi? It is as easy as that?
You did not sign the contract with Ben taub for the cheaper self pay rate before delivery hence you lost that window of opportunity.
Why are you arguing WIC and Medicaid with nairaland members? Save the argument for the Visa officer during renewal.
You simply did not plan well for this journey and it was God that took control if not it would not have been a funny situation.
Congrata once again. |

Yes I advice you do (it makes the process one step faster) but don't pay online if you like.go there with the money. I usually fill out forms and pay the official then go to the office with the extra which we know is file carrying" with this procedure you will do biometrics before noon. I promise you if you get there very early biometrics will be next morning this in Port Harcourt though . This from experience. jesufifunmi: Ah Chibertha, you want me to fill the form myself for this naija? Na after 5years dem go call my baby for biometrics. I tried it in 2008 when the Epassport was introduced, after 4 months of filling the form and paying online myself, na beg and and series of bribes i take do biometrics for Ikoyi. I would't advise anyone to go that route again. It just heartrending to see and accept how things work in our country. |

Go online fill the forms And print Then go to the passport office in your state with the following:- 1) Baby passport photo 2) Birthday certificate 3) Consent letter from father 4) Father's current and valid passport bio data page copy If father doesn't have no 4 Then add local government identification of baby and dad (I don't know which will be used but one is needed) Any other form of Identification for father. Also go with mother's identification too. jesufifunmi: Thanks. I was actually asking about the process for applying from Nigeria for minors who came in with their blue passport. |

You are very correct by 4pm of that samw 17th you should have the passport with expedited. Get the money order ready then go to the FedEx just 2 streets in front send it to your contact if you pay for next day delivery it will be with your contact before noon and he or she will put the visa and return immediately. So by 19th close of business the passport with visa is with you. That is what I did. nomanicole: pick the 17th date, morning appointment . it's possible to get the passport same day once expedited or you just have to let them know u are sending the passport out for visa , they will give you the same day. u can get approval for visa on arrival or make a 24 hr visa arrangement with Eddy the visa agent. it's a small. matter |

Your post is very educative thank you. ammielee: Good day house. I've been a silent reader for sometime. In the spirit of giving back, I have come to share my experience so far. I applied for my visa before I joined nairaland. Luckily I stated my intention, a friend encouraged me to.
My visa interview.
I'm sorry I won't be able to write the visa interview word for word. I was already showing during my interview. I was asked reason for applying, I said childbirth (I applied alone). I was also asked where I work, what my husband does for a living, how much my budget is, I answered 15k dollars because then I booked an apartment on extended stay, whether I have correspondence with the doctor, I said yes. I had from 3 different doctors. why I chose Houston, I answered that it was based on a recommendation from a friend and colleague. It was only my doctors correspondence he asked to see. He then said congrats, pick up your visa in 3days and was handed the white paper. Not to forget to add, I prayed wella and asked God for favor.
My flight.
I finally booked airfrance using travelstart after searching and searching because they gave me the best combination though quite expensive. I needed the shortest possible flight. Lagos - paris- Atlanta. My final destination is Nashville in Tennessee. So a friend helped book the connecting flight. The direct flights I saw were too long. Wasn't sure I could manage that but next time I will manage o. Spent plenty money on ticket but considering my health and big tummy, it was worth it. In-flight entertainment from Naija was just there but the air hostesses were on pointed . Showed me free seats to lie down and sleep well. So I slept through out to Paris. The flight to Atlanta was on point. 10hrs but no free seats to stretch my legs. Had to manage somehow.
On Pta Got pta of 4k on the 28th of Feb from gtb after many denials from other banks because my accounts there weren't up to 6months old. Applied the day before. Twas favour working for me. On my visa application I stated I was going to Houston because then I've not been able to reach my uncle in Tennessee. I cancelled the hotel reservation after the interview. When I finally reached my uncle. I got hospital correspondence from a hospital in Nashville. He helped me with the name of the hospital in his neighbor hood. Contacted them via facebook, Nashville is not very popular. The y replied and sent me a number to call for their bill. I called and was sent one via email a day before I travelled on the 28th of March. God answers prayers. So I was armed with my burden of proof.
Poe experience (Atlanta). I completed a form I was given while boarding d plane to Atlanta. Was sent to the self service machine. I declared food cos I carried plenty things but all dried. Printed my completed form. Joined the queue. Before then I had gone to d rest room to pray for favor and to thank God for a safe flight. When it was my turn. This was the discussion.
CBP: Hello Me : Hi ( smiling cos he was looking at my intimidating tummy) travelled at 34wks CBP: Wow, are you having twins? Me :no just one CBP: can I have your passport, Me: I gave him the passport, printed doc from machine and the one I completed with a pen. CBP: where are you headed (still smiling) Me :Nashville. CBP: how long will you be there? Me: 2 and half months. CBP: how much do you have on you? Me : 6k usd CBP: stamps my passport for 6 months. Do you have food. I nodded. CBP: do you have meat and vegetables?. I said yes I have dried vegetables. CBP: hands me my passport and d printed doc where he wrote A. Meaning Agriculture. CBP: Enjoy you stay smiling. Me : thanks. It didn't last up to 5 mins. That was God. Saw my boxes as soon as I got to baggage claim Went to agriculture. They asked me to open the box with food. I did. They checked . I labelled every thing. I had them packed in a ziploc bag. He checked and asked me to close my box. That was all. Nothing was seized.
Got to Nashville on the 2nd at night. So I'm still resting from my trip. Will be back with my hospital and delivery story soon by God's grace. I looked though this thread for anyone with Nashville experience but didn't get any. This is just to encourage someone. My uncle and family are so sweet. I will do my part. Just as I've learnt here. Sorry for the long post. |

Absolutely right in the highlighted. Apart from getting affordable health care it is good to also consider the time it will take to get all documentations when booking your return leg and if you have to return fast fast to avoid ticket re-booking in this high exchange rate season. Shawbabe: Oh and ssn they told will take 10 days. I think it came like 5 days later. All this is possible if you're in a city with fast process. This was part of my choice for still sticking with Atl this time around. Oh and I forgot to mention, I opted for an induction at 38 weeks coz I was tired of waiting for nature lol . So it helped me plan accordingly coz I already knew when baby will arrive. But this is me oh....I'm weird like that. |

Print this information direct from thier website and go along with it on your day of travel. Meet all requirements and go ahead and fly. Find out how to get medical clearance from Emirates health department and go to them. My take because that is what I would do Maymum: Ah !!! I am beginning to panic. Another link on their websites states the below, this clause was not stated. I also confirmed from their rep at their office in Lagos before buying my ticket and they confirmed same.
Please has anyone traveled beyond 33 weeks for journeys more than 8hrs ?
Travelling while pregnant
If you are pregnant and plan to travel once you have entered your 29th week of pregnancy, a medical certificate or letter signed by an appropriately qualified doctor or midwife is required, stating: the confirmation of a singleton or multiple pregnancy the pregnancy is progressing without complications the estimated date of delivery the date up to which you are expected to be fit to travel that you are in good health that there is no reason known to them that would prevent you from flying Please note that if you choose not to carry a valid medical certificate, you may not be accepted for travel if there is any doubt about your ability to complete the journey safely. If yours is a multiple pregnancy, no air travel is permitted after the 32nd week of gestation. For single pregnancies, travel after the 36th week of gestation will be permitted only after prior clearance is granted by the Emirates medical department. |

I have done something close to it. Left from Lagos and returned to phc. I did it in the airline office though. So call the airline of your choice ticketing line they will help work you through and send the ticket ref which you will use to pay. Remember to get her information handy because it will be needed. mimimum: Please, please, please. Who has booked a return flight before and had a different airport as the return airport? I am trying to book a flight to JFK for my mum, but I want IAD, Washington to be the airport of return. Is it possible? The agent my mum spoke to is not helping with any useful info. |

True especially if they stated the exact amount you paid in it. Mine just has that my account and my sons account has paid all bills hence not indebted to the hospital. nefertitiram: If you ask me, that zero balance statement does more harm than good, especially if you got a discount. So just take your rexiept, agreement and itemized bill and make sure they all tally. |

Answer A If the document states that you have paid your bills and not indebted in any way then keep it well. B. Use 000000 to get the passport you don't need to change it for now untill the passport is due for renewal then you put the number. fatima04: Hello house, please what can i do in a situation where the hospital i gave birth just gave me an agreement between the hospital and myself stating the fees i paid and not issuing a zero balance statement?
B. Pls which one can i use for SSN on the US passport application between 4 or 5 zeros and will i need to change it on the application when the actual number comes?
Please urgent response needed abeg. |
