anonymousmum: A middle ground is to spend pre-delivery period in private accommodation, and then move to family accommodation post birth when you need support and more space etc.
That way you don't overburden your guest (max spend 1 month) and you also retain your own dignity. Very true |

FabioRomani: Please I need help. My wife travelled to the US with my one year+ son for visit on a b1b2 visa, but while they were there, my son fell I'll and was taken to the hospital. I was advised by an immigration lawyer to apply for mass health or medicare for him cos of the bills. But I am scared of the implication. Please can someone with knowledge advice on the implication. Thanks I feel you shouldn't except he is a US citizen, if he is not then look for a teaching hospital or public hospital. They are usually very cheap |

People that knows Texas very well is houston methodist so far that we can't work something around. Cos this dollar wahala can't spend extra dollar oh. Sugarland is a little distance from Houston city limits and the metro doesn't go into it it stops at a park and ride close by. I've found a doctor whose fee is 1700 and the hospital is 2000 for vaginal delivery. But don't have an idea of pediatrician fees
Please I would love to get any information especially with regards pediatrician fees and also cost and time frame in getting baby's documents. Thank you so much. In either part 4 or 5 someone gave us full details on how she went about it in this same hospital |

Rebarobyn: I witnessed a couple of weeks in this particular case so it's not hear say or gist. I observed with my own eyes.
Unless you see with your own eyes people will never tell you the full story. The story you posted seems to have another side...why would you stay to be subjected to such if you've paid rent elsewhere...to My people I tire for all these host talk. See if you ask me you could actually avoid all these issues either from you or your host (na see finish dey worry both parties ) When planning for this journey please Make accommodation rentals no 1. To cut cost get a hospital that is close to roads that you can take the bus or train to cut cost. If you are going to Houston for example Stay close to Westminster or Richmond avenue from there you can get the metro bus to any interesting spot. Cost $1.50 cash or $1 if you have a Q card. As for staying alone you can. I did it I was alone until my DH and left 1 week after I put to birth then baby and me stayed for 3 weeks before I returned. That was my first baby and C-section. MY dears we can do it |

freshtestimony: Good morning mamas, pls @ what weeks will airfrance fly me? I've decided to go alone, hubby will come with the kids later.
Thanks all for you contributions. 36 weeks or less for single and less than 26 weeks for multiple. Carry a medical report from your doctor stating you are fit to fly. Also go to airfrance Website and print the page that mentions travelling when pregnant So you can and be ready for all those people who talk without reading at airports |

chloe7: After B.C he still wants consent letter, anyway he knows we Nigerians are gangster?! Lol due to the recent issues of child trafficking i'm sure that's why they sat up seriously, but our immigration is very lax very very lax, I remember in December when this David o and baby mama ish came up I mean they were taking the baby to Dubai without the mother and that wasn't the first time and we have immigration hian! If the babe didn't call everyone's attention the baby for go like that o fiam BC doesn't cover for consent to travel. The rules is that whom ever ( mother or father) is travelling with a minor(s) should get consent from the non travelling parent. Also if there is no mother or father (ie means passed ) then carry a death certificate of the late parent. To avoid any issues |

I beg @Chiowerri, damsell, bambambig, una be LA mom, are you staying with someone or you rent an apartment. If you rent an apartment can we share please. Am making this request because I want to have a second plan in case if my host disappoint me. Don't want to be hanging in a strange man land.
And BY the way I know about the website airnb or so but I can't just pay like that without seeing what's on ground.
If you have any plan, please let's hook up. Will be in LA next week. Look for an extended stay hotel their weekly rates are always good. and if you stay for a month your tax will be refunded and you won't be taxed again in the subsequent stay. E.g studio 6 |

chloe7: Yes o, immigration in Nigeria can be funny o, I read a story like two days ago where a woman wasn't allowed to fly with her children, her own children o they said because no consent letter from husband, the narrator of the story said woman was stressed and crying and they didn't even look her face at all. Very true. Because of child trafficking.so it's actually not only in Nigeria that you might be asked such questions A lot countries do.If you are not asked it was an oversight by who you met at the airport when travelling out. |

firsttymum: it's like naija na... Not like u will carry d bags on ur head. U come out of jfk u see a cab which will take u to the other airport. There r always "chauffeur " some how u will get one. Or u use a cart which is readily available. You take a train an air training heading to Jamaica station and stop over at terminal 2 or so it is free. But I must warn not easy for an expecting mum or with baby due to the transit times at different airports. When I did it 2010 I used emirates, i was all alone and very free but the stress still got to me |

Thank you so much I have done this trip before in 2010. I promise you wont be too easy for a pregnant woman or doing it with a baby. My rout was JFK-Charlotte-Houston had to wait 3 hours in Charlotte the flight gets to JFK late in the Night you have to look for where to sleep till wee hours in the morning before take off from JFK. I promise you it is better to do Houston direct I did it in 2011 it was sweet. |

Egonne1: Hello e-fam, posted about my luggages missing with Emirates. Finally all 5 of them have been found. Thank God o. So I learnt some things from this experience and thought to share. It took over 3 weeka for them to find the last luggage which was a Ghana must go. Apparently, the hand where the name tag was, cut off. If I had a picture of the bags, I would have gotten it a long time. Luckily, the bag contained weavons i got for some people that I had pictures of, amongst other things. They used the pictures of the weavons to find the bag. Please let us either have pictures of our luggages and even contents of our bags as no one knows what may happen with all these airlines. All the best to everyone. Wow that was great. Thank you for this timely information |

Zocken: 10:27am On Oct 30 Grateful we are in part 5. Let me reproduce my burning issue here for help. Good day great people of this platform. Please, I need some clarifications on how I can send about $2000 from Nigeria to my DW in the US. DW
To give tips on how i transfer money to the states. Go open a first bank account if you don't already have one the from the account create a paypal account Then tell your wife to open an account in the USA if she doesn't have one already and also create a paypal account linking that account so all you have to do is sign on to your paypal account put her paypal account email and the amount wala the money is in her owun paypal account then she can transfer from her paypal account to her bank account. Always use the daily limit for POS transactions. |
