Normally if they do not reply to you it means they are not interested in you many times never the less put a call through to them for the last time. Dreamsss: One of my applications is for a PhD program and I emailed the profs before applying, because it was advised on the school's website. However, up until now, no response from those people and the school will not let me rest from constantly bombarding me with emails about deadline and how all their profs have plenty extramural fundings. Of course, they want my application fee, I know. I asked an alumni and she told me to email profs like I'd done, but if they don't answer me, I should still go ahead to apply because some of her friends succeeded that way. So I have done so...Whether it will bring out anything meaningful, me and her can't tell for sure, but I have sha applied to three other schools for masters, jejely. |

Yes, it is always necessary to get in contact with a lecturer whose interest aligned with yours except the university says otherwise but nevertheless still. Another place you can speak with them is by attending open days. Capitalbase: Hi everybody, Please, for those who are currently applying for PhD, did you have to email one of the faculty members whose research interests aligned with yours to facilitate your admission process. I applied for 3 PhD positions since September and this were open positions for Fall intake. However, I just felt like doing a follow up with graduate departments and one of the response I received seemed to suggest they are "ONLY" accepting those candidates whose "would be" mentors has approved for their applications to move to the next stage. If anybody can throw more light to this, it would be much appreciated.

remove the bolded Elizabethomolar: Hello everyone, I'm new in and I just want to share my interview experience and hoping to get some advice on it... I was denied of an American visa. It was F1 Visa, I planed on going as an undergraduate. My first attempt. The questions asked are; Why USA: Told them it's because of the great educational system, the universal laungauge is English which isn't a problem for me cause I can speak fluently in it as I won't have a problem settling down also the distance isn't far from my home country
School: Montclair State University
Why I'm leaving my current study in Nigeria to start all over afresh in US. This is where I think the problem is, I told them it's because of the educational system in my country which has given me set back, the strike and [b]also because the course given to me by my uni isn't my choice of study[/b and I want to go study my most preferred course in the country that has best educational system.
I intend on going for it again before the resumption of my school which is Jan. I don't know what happened and I just need advice on what to do or say and what the problem could have been |

My bad, sorry Nitta08: Thanks for the response but I’ll like to make it clear. 1. I am not an agent. I was on this thread months ago asking questions about my brother’s situation and people said I was an agent which was disappointing. 2. I benefitted from this thread in 2018 when I had my interview, posted my transcript and I tried to give back as time allowed me then till life got busy here. 3. I am aware of all the rules of a student visa in the US as I was a student. I was just trying to figure out what the issue could have been as to why he was refused a visa on talking about the job he did in Ukraine. 4. The only F1 admission and visa application I’ve ever done was mine back in 2018. I always refer people to this thread to read and do their research as I did, when they indicate interest of coming to the US. So I am not a pro in anyway which is why this situation may have gotten messed and that’s why I came back here again hoping to get answers and not being called an agent a second time. I will appreciate it if you refrain from addressing me that way. Thank you |

Mr/Mrs Agent see how you have complicated issues for your "brother" You can work in USA on student visa if you work on campus Or off campus during CPT or OPT Please always do your findings well for you clients. Good luck As you try to rectify it. Nitta08: Hi everyone, My brother was denied a visa twice in Poland. He was studying medicine and surgery in Ukraine before the war. And got admitted for Public Health at Sam Houston State University Texas. He wasn’t asked any questions today just if has been refused before and if he was working which he explained that he did a remote job when the war started while applying to further his studies. The first time was the same issue about job. Now I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have put it in his DS160. I also just got to find out that working while on a student visa in Ukraine is illegal just as it is in the US. Could that be the reason? Is there a way I can rectify this? I didn’t take it out this second time because I was told to be consistent since they have records. Should I take it out and he can say it was an error? Please I need advice on what to do and how to move forward. Thank you |

asking this kind of question here is unwise. you do not know who is who doyindeda: I'm in a tough situation and need assistance choosing. I've worked with my EMPLOYER for 2 years, and he's willing to act as my sponsor and offer an affidavit of support for me (as requested by the school where I got admission). He is willing to do the same as my UNCLE because of the relationship we have.
Which do you think I should choose—employer or uncle (given that I'll be selecting the same choice for my visa application/interview)? |

thanks Helpout12345: Good questions.
1. I think the first person in those interview scenarios was in a good situation so far that online job is in their field of expertise where they claim to have exceptional ability
2. The second person was in a tight situation because of taking a training or trainee position. Anyone in that situation must be prepared for lots of drilling by the VO. I will not advise anyone to show trainee position going to interviews. It's better you have interviews and communication with US employers about top positions in your field than go with a job contradicting what you claimed to be. Honestly, the person must have really done a good job to convince that VO that he or she is not just a medical doctor like millions of doctors around the world or the specialized area must be very important to the US.
Concerning other reasons that EB visa might be denied. This falls under many factors that make an intending immigrant inadmissible to the US. Please find below full information on inadmissibility. Some of them have waivers opportunities while some don't.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/waivers.html
It's a long read but it's worth it because I have seen people denied based on one or two of these grounds before. |
