For those looking for where to watch subsequent matches, FIFA has a live stream of all the matches (excellent quality too), though only available in certain countries (All European countries, the Americas and some Asian countries). For the rest, you can watch NTA international by downloading "Readon TV Movie Radio Player" (search for it using Readon from www.download.com or google it) and instal it. Thereafter, when readon opens, under country, draw the list down and select Nigeria, and leave the Genre in all and you'll have about 7 TV stations from Nigeria on display, the last one there is NTA (the rest are religious TV stations). It's amazing and you can watch NTA 24/7

Great game our boys played today.
PoliticsRe: Al-mustapha Needs Psychiatric Attention – Ige’s Son by chidexy(m): 6:43am On Aug 04, 2011
Mustapha has got nothing more to loose. So just watch as more mouth opening revelations come out. Those who are defending Adesanya and Ige should hold their fire first until the evidence comes out. The prosecution had all the years to state their case, now the defendant has the court to himself - and he must be heard. Who knows, it could be that Ige and Co did collect money after Abiola's death. After all, all the wealth that the Iges and the Adesanya's have been enjoying did come from somewhere

BusinessRe: Listening To Sanusi, I Am Proud To Be A Nigerian! by chidexy(m): 12:41pm On Jul 28, 2011
Find attached the CBN guidelines on Islamic Banking.

Islamic Banking while a form of non-interest banking, is being promoted by Sanusi and Co. as a stand-alone form of banking. While in principle it's a line of banking product being offered in so many countries, its promoters in Nigeria are rather not addressing the fears of those who are against/opposed to it.

Of interest in the guidelines are sections 4.1 and 4.3. Section 4.1 makes it mandatory that the operators must have a technical agreement with a reputable islamic financial institution (read: uncensored funds coming from mostly middle east into the country). In section 4.3, most operators will apply for a regional license to operate in the North (as a possible instrument of development of the economy of the northern zones).

Sections 6 and 11 handle the issue of Profit (read: Interest). It's erroneously assumed that both profit and loss are shared in Islamic banking. Far from the truth: only the profits are shared while losses are singularly borne by whoever takes out the loan (see section 11.2)

I hope the propagators of this form of banking get their acts together, address the concerns of those who are opposed to it before carrying on
PoliticsRe: Muslim Leaders Vow To Defend Islamic Banking by chidexy(m): 1:58pm On Jul 25, 2011
Interesting. Yoruba Muslims are beginning to arise. Who knows, very soon, we'll start having SW Boko Haram outpost also on account of this Islamic banking wahala. Just watching

TravelRe: Turn Off The Light: The Daily Life Struggle Of Nigerians In London by chidexy(m): 5:59pm On Jun 24, 2011
I think Europeans (and all living in Europe, ditto America) are more conscientious consumer of electricity and energy in general. Cost most times is not the determining factor, but the need to use resources in a more (environmentally) sustainable manner.

I pay 50 Euros monthly for my electricity bill, but at the end of the year, when the bill for the actual consumed electricity is sent by the electricity company, either pay some more money or get something refunded and my monthly payments for the next year adjusted accordingly.

Besides, nobody wants to pay more to these gigantic over-bloated energy monopolies. In Germany it is not out of place for people to light candle and turn out the lights - after all it's more romantic
SportsRe: Nigeria 3 Vs Tanzania 0 (3-1 on aggregate) by chidexy(m): 5:31pm On Jun 19, 2011
Countries that have qualified for the last stage mini tournament to select the 3 African representative at the Olympics (the fourth will have a play off against a Team from Asia for a possible 4th slot for Africa) are:
Senegal
South Africa
Ivory Coast
Morrocco
Algeria
Egypt
Nigeria
Mali or Gabon

The 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups and the first in each team qualifies automatically, while the better of the 2nd positions from the groups qualify also automatically. The other 2nd in the group will then play against a team from Asia to go through

Goodluck to our boys for a job well executed
SportsRe: Nigeria 3 Vs Tanzania 0 (3-1 on aggregate) by chidexy(m): 5:00pm On Jun 19, 2011
It's still 2-0 for Nigeria. 4 added mins to play

This isn't the last stage before the Olympics. The 8 finalist will play in a mini league format to get the 3 qualifiers
SportsRe: Nigeria 3 Vs Tanzania 0 (3-1 on aggregate) by chidexy(m): 4:42pm On Jun 19, 2011
How is that a bad news? We should have more depth in the team and any player should easily be replaced by another competent player
SportsRe: Nigeria 3 Vs Tanzania 0 (3-1 on aggregate) by chidexy(m): 4:36pm On Jun 19, 2011
we need 1 more goal as insurance before the boys start relaxing

End of 1st Half. Nigeria leading 1-0 against Tanzania. We've been wasteful though. We should have been at least three Nil up by now

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Woman Shot Dead By German Police Over Welfare Allowance by chidexy(m): 7:53am On Jun 01, 2011
The lady in question stabbed a policeman not a policewoman, as wrongly stated in the original report. His colleague, the policewoman, then shot the Nigerian lady (who by the way was married to a German man and recently relocated from where she used to live to the more cosmopolitan city of Frankfurt) in aid to her colleague. The question then is: why should a sane person go to an office with a kitchen knife in her handbag?

Don't forget that the police officers were called after she disturbed the peace of a work place and they came to escort her out of a public building before she acted irrationally.

Most Africans in Germany react violently to normal police control. Sad for the woman and her family though
