PoliticsRe: Obi Wins Nigeria’s Most Trustworthy Gov Award by chidexy(m): 9:11am On Feb 01, 2010
smallboy2:
@Bike
you made a point there but lets just pray that Soludo will keep and fulfill his promise of transforming Anambra to look like Dubai. If he fails then he is not patriotic. He has lived and worked abroad for years now. At least let him have empathy on the deplorable nature of anambra. This is his opportunity to show his love for Nigeria and Anambra. I learnt he had two jobs waiting for him in USA and UK but he dropped them and went for a call on leadership and politics. Pls God let him be the chosen one. I also heard the election will be a transparent one, cheers
Making someone a governor of a state should not be based on the hope that he keeps his promise. What are Soludo's concrete, well-thought out policy plans on how to effect the "Anambara-to-Dubai" transformation in 4 years? Does he have any blue prints (and resources of course) to bring that to fruition. We shouldn't be carried away by rhetoric. Dubai was not built in 4 years and it wasn't built with Abuja monthly allocations - but with real heavy money investments over decades - that money, Anambara doesn't have.

Living abroad or having lived abroad does not guarantee that a particular candidate would perform. The Nigerian political space is littered with carcasses of governors who lived abroad, yet performed woefully - Just ask Chimaroke Nnamani, Gbenga Daniel and their irks. Fashola and Chime, to the best of my knowledge, lived and worked in Nigeria before assuming the mantle of leadership, yet they are above board in bringing ideas into tangible projects that can better the lots of their states.
RomanceRe: How Often Do You Call Your Partner ? by chidexy(m): 9:23am On Jan 27, 2010
Once daily (guaranteed) when I am away from home, but hardly calls when I am at home. We see in the morning and in the evening after the day's activities
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Zambia: Super Eagles Win On Penalties (Nations Cup) by chidexy(m): 11:18pm On Jan 25, 2010
CONGRATULATIONS!! The Super Eagles have done it. Though it wasn't easy, but a win remains a win and we are in the semi finals. I hope though that Yakubu won't feature in the semi-finals

Congrats once again
PoliticsRe: Sule Lamido Is Performing Well {pics Incl} by chidexy(m): 12:02am On Jan 13, 2010
procurement is not the same as performance. I don't know if someone else noticed the dust collecting on most of those equipments (including the so called keke NAPEP assembly plant)

If you waste resources in procurement and there is nobody using them, at the end of the day, the politicians will carry them off. The low cost computers and books are also collecting layers of dust
FoodRe: Tough Meat. How Do I Make It Soft? by chidexy(m): 11:41pm On Jan 12, 2010
freshly pressed pineapple juice or pawpaw will do the job or you soak the meat in Cola (coca cola, pepsi or any of the generics) for about 5 mins before boiling.

A nice strike by Obasi. Hope they keep up the good work rate and score some more goals

THE_AMAKA:
40 days out of office

only God knows where he is, weather dead or alive
He may long have been dead for all I care and buried in Saudi Arabia. At best, he's in a vegetative state. Unless a documentary (video) evidence is shown to us proving otherwise, he is presumed dead and should not be allowed to rule Nigeria from "anywhere" including a graveyard in Saudi Arabia

coolier:
28houses! Abeg nah inside which one she dey live?
Have you heard of investment in real estate. She's a business woman. The report never said she lives in Dubai, just that she owned the said property(ies). Cut her some slacks. EFCC is at it again. If they are serious about a financial crime, they should investigate and go to court with a water tight case and get a conviction. Not the one that will lead to acquittal like we witnessed in Ibori's case. No case has ever been won on the pages of Newspaper (PM News being the least of them all). Character assassination should be stopped.
EducationRe: Lagos Teachers can't speak English language by chidexy(m): 1:24pm On Dec 19, 2009
We've identified the problems. What's the way forward? Most people will be traveling during the festive period - would you be so kind as to buy a pack of chalk or some school materials for that primary or secondary school that you attended? - Thanks
Jobs/VacanciesRe: How To Introduce Urself During A Job Interview by chidexy(m): 10:17pm On Dec 12, 2009
I met with a HR consultant involved in hiring for Nigerian companies and I asked him this very question. Here is his answer on what they expect from people: Simply and briefly tell them exactly what you have on your CV - not much details - just name, age and a concise history of your employment record/experience. He mentioned that you should never go as far as telling them about your family or such personal details unless specifically asked
PoliticsRe: Dr. Goodluck Jonathan Comes Under Pressure To Resign by chidexy(m): 9:46am On Nov 30, 2009
There are so much manoeuvrings going on behind the scene. The South-South shouldn't just stop at issuing statements and threats. Now is the time to engage some of their respected people to reach out to other segments of the Nigerian federation and start serious rapprochement. The establishment in the North probably knows that Yar'Adua's days are numbered (I don't mean it in terms of death, but the strength to carry on ruling) and are jostling for power.

I guess a compromise might be reach in which they agree to let Jonathan finish Yar'Adua's term, should he throw in the towel, in exchange for the South allowing them a fresh start to 8 years reign from 2011.

PoliticsRe: Abia State 1st Lady Most Wanted By Efcc by chidexy(m): 9:18am On Nov 20, 2009
Aloy~Emeka:
Is it that you don't believe Abia governor, Theodore Orji and his wife are capable of doing such thing or what?
Are they? Being capable doesn't mean that they are guilty as alleged. By the way, Aloy~Emeka, were you once in Ihiagwa?
PoliticsRe: Abia State 1st Lady Most Wanted By Efcc by chidexy(m): 9:11am On Nov 20, 2009
These are still mere allegations - the authorities should supply more evidence to the public, if they are sure of what they are talking about. Unless they are waiting for the State Govt to engage their own propaganda machinery and muddle up the information out there.

Claiming that a Gov's wife is laundering money and his son, a cabal won't stick.
PoliticsRe: Abia State 1st Lady Most Wanted By Efcc by chidexy(m): 7:09pm On Nov 19, 2009
don't be fooled by these stories. Election season is here again and unsubstantiated allegations will be flying around to see if any will stick in the public's perception.

PDP is out to secure a base for their chairman - and what better way to do it than to use EFCC to harass state officials over alleged corruption case.

The case report sounds fake to be taken seriously - how can someone sign a contract with state officials without contract papers stating the terms and you go ahead and present samples of what you are to supply - and I thought vehicular specifications would have been included in the contract papers.

If they want me to believe this case, then they should supply more tangible evidence
CultureRe: Why do Nigerian Women Bear Their Father's Name, After Marriage? by chidexy(m): 3:19pm On Nov 17, 2009
The ladies have earned certificates, recognitions etc before getting married. For ease of identification, they hyphenate their maiden names - no qualms about that and shouldn't concern or threaten anybody

@poster, Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, has a partner, but doesn't bear his name. Merkel is her father's name
SportsRe: U-17 World Cup Final: Switzerland Vs Nigeria [1 - 0] by chidexy(m): 12:07am On Nov 16, 2009
Okoro wasn't the cause of our losing the match. Left to me, he was our best player in the whole tournament including today's final. Just that being Nigerians, and lacking the sportsmanship spirit of losing some and winning some, we must make a scapegoat of someone.

He was very inspirational and the Swiss goalkeeper was at his best, if not, we would have won by a wide margin.

Our error in the game was actually starting Sani Emmanuel - we failed to prioritize. We wanted to clear the whole stable of prizes alone. He was effectively checked up there and Okoro was left with no option than to be taking long shots - and almost all were accurate shots. So those who are calling him names should spare him.

Okoro and Kayode were the best today

I think we should bring back Jo Bonfere to manage our side during the World Cup. Preparations should start now.

Now that TB Joshua has been made a liar, can we concentrate for at least 15 mins and see our victory through? I hope Yobo wont go to bed again and forget to mark his man and organize his defence

scrappy goal, but well needed. If Martins started this game we wouldn't have been in this position
SportsRe: WCQ: Kenya vs Nigeria - (2-3) by chidexy(m): 3:10pm On Nov 14, 2009
If Amodu should please do us a last favor before he steps down, by bringing in Kanu to hold the ball and distribute, Martins and Nsofor to run down the defence of the kenyans (and that should be before the 50th minute). Afterwards, he should go on exile
HealthRe: Guys A Brother Is In Deep Pain! by chidexy(m): 10:52pm On Nov 06, 2009
Forget those cure all herbal nonsense (and poison?) that some will recommend to you. Premature ejaculation affects about 20% of all men (that's even a conservative figure). You may increase your staying power by training with your partner. She has to see reason to help you out and there are loads of information online on how to gradually but effectively train yourself to stay longer.

However, it's not how long you thrust that satisfies your lady, but in knowing how to go about it. Explore better ways on improving together with her
HealthRe: Which Fruits Can Be Best Conbine For A Juice by chidexy(m): 10:46pm On Nov 06, 2009
All fruits, so long as there is juice in it. It all depends on your taste and what flavor you want. So try expressing the juice of various fruits and you'll be surprised at the result you get.

My son used to like grape fruits mixed with Orange and carrot juices

Please does anybody know the reason(s) why Ijebu Ode and Bauchi are hosting only 1 match each during the group stage? Thought with extensive preparations to host the events, these cities deserve at least 3 matches each
