The 5th round just ended and he hasn't landed a good punch yet. His face is getting swollen already. He promised ending the contest in the 6th round. Guess he's being called out now to walk his talk |
If he wants positive comments, he should fight like a boxer - not just running around the ring holding his opponent I don't see him winning this contest, unless one of his swings connects - which is doubtful, since his reach isn't up to Klitschko's face. I pity my brother who went to the stadium to watch the game live |
honeric01:Klitschko has won the first 3 rounds - so you do the math yourself |
End of Round 3 - Klitschko yet to be challenged. Guess I should switch to watching Tennis - Federer against Djokovich, might be a little more entertaining than this boxing match |
The end of Round 2. Klitschko having the upper hand - so far. Samuel needs to get a bit closer before attempting his "aboki" hand swing. 3rd round beginning now |
can someone tell Vladmir Klitschko to stop holding and fight |
The Nigerian Anthem is being played now. The bout is about to begin - let's hope The Nigerian Nightmare can pull this one off and shut the bug Ukrainian mouth |
Sagamite:I am not saying that the CNN Job for the former disgraced New York Governor is a job in politics. I pointed that out just to show that politicians take care of their own. I am in no way supporting Alami's appointment (if it's true), but I wouldn't be surprised if it's done. It's done the world over. Nigerians have the shortest memory in politics and bringing his name and face up to national limelight will help in erasing his negative image - if in doubt ask Babangida |
The best way to stop the rot at NFA (or is it NFF). We would definitely be banned by FIFA, while investigation would be carried out on the activities (financial and otherwise) of the NFA officials. Those indicted would then be shown their files and forced to stand down or risk going to jail, while Nigeria makes a case to FIFA to let it reorganise it's house and "follow" FIFA's regulations. The idiots would have been cleared. I see Segun Odegbami taking over the NFA afterwards and Siasia and Oliseh appointed to head the rebuilding efforts of the Super Eagles |
There is what is called rehabilitation in politics. It's practised the world over. Alami has been in political wilderness for almost 3 years now. So there's nothing strange in trying to get him back into the mainstream politics - though I may not agree with the decision, but it is a common practice. Watch out for Balogun soon. The former New York Governor is also being reintegrated into state and national politics of the US and is even being rumoured to take over from Larry King at CNN |
Meanwhile Lulu and Ogunjobi are already plotting on how to "engineer" their re election so they can continue destroying Nigerian football from where they left off |
that Aboki federal character quota. Who even brought him? |
have the Nigerian players gone to bed after their 1 goal? They should press on and utilize the uncertainties of the Greeks |
The Koreans are home and dry with this game. At least, it was more entertaining than the french game |
what a strike |
Becomrich0:Becomerich0 where is your google map to substantiate your claim? |
Bankole should go and kiss President Jonathan's "ring", else he may not survive the plot. Remember the role he played while Yar'Adua saga lasted. Ogbulafor has gone, he may well be the next |
It's not too fair to lump the actors and actresses together and try to rank them. Better would have been to name the top 10 (or 5) actors and same for the actresses. Actors 1. Kenneth Okonkwo 2. Pete Edochie 3. Kanayo O. Kanayo 4. Chidi Muokeme 5. Bob-Manuel Udokwu 6. Nkem Owo 7. Chinetalu Agu 8. Emeka Ike 9. Clems Ohameze 10. John Okafor (Mr Ibu) Actresses 1. Genevieve Nnaji 2. Rita Dominic 3. Stella Damasus 4. Chioma Chukwuka 5. Patience Ozokwor 6. Stephanie Okereke 7. Hilda Dokubo 8. Clarion Chukwuka 9. Tonto Dike 10. Rita Edochie |
Looking at the 30-man provisional squad released by the Coach, he named 4 goalkeepers, of which 3 must go to the world cup. So already, we have 3 slots filled and from those 4 names, one person must be dropped - leaving out 20 spaces to be filled by field players. Of those remaining 26 names, 9 are classified as defenders, 9 as midfielders and 8 as strikers (Kanu Nwankwo included). The coach might decide to prune down the list by removing 3 names from the defenders, 2 from the midfield and 1 from the strikers or 2 from defenders, 3 from among the midfielders and 1 from the strikers. Judging from the above, my take would be: the coach would take all his strikers to South Africa, drop 3 each from defence and midfield and one goalkeeper. So those that might not make it (in my opinion) to South Africa are: Shittu, Terna Suswan, Ejide, John Utaka, Ideye Brown, Kaita and Anichebe |
@ poster, you never told us what and who started off the latest bout of quarreling. Could it be that you Mom knows that your dad has a bad temper and doesn't take words lightly, and sets him off that way? Taking your mother out of his house will never solve the problem. If you are in your 30s (I assumed so, since they've been married for 33 years) and you still doesn't command the respect of your father (parents), then something is wrong with you. I can't imagine most parents using abusive words on their spouses if their 18 year old child is there, talk less of a 30+ male adult |
Those images are found in all developing countries. It shows that even in unexpected places, money could be made. If we have a very sound waste management and disposal systems, we wouldn't be finding such. The people shown in those pictures are just trying to survive against all odds |
hotlips:There's nothing wrong in his attending, but he shouldn't disturb the peace of Nigerians when he does that. Afterall, before he absconded to Saudi Arabia, he never made any news about his Jumat prayers. Methinks that he's long dead and buried |
Bought my MTN SIM for 23K in Nov 2001. |
Acting President Goodluck Jonathan adds five more names to ministerial list. They are Dora Akunyili, Shamsuddeen Usman, Emmanuel Iheanacho, Musa Sada and Prof Sheikh Abdullah, http://thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=169355 More names are being added. But the outlook isn't good, except for the guy from Goldman Sachs |
This is election year (sorry it's actually 2011), so we expect such "kitchen-sink" politics. Overall, I think Fashola has been above board in his management of Lagos state and he's insisted on quality in most things he has done - which is a plus to his management team. I read sometime ago that he refused to commission a shopping complex built by the State government somewhere in Ikeja citing the poor finishing by the contractor. If costs are reviewed upwards so that a better quality job gets done, I see no reason calling that corruption. Besides, someone must be selected to do a contract - and that means others will lose out and sour grape will set in. So accusing him of awarding contracts to his friends and cronies doesn't hold. If Lagosians doesn't need him, I think Nigerians would want him in Abuja |
Do you measure achievement in governance only in terms of concretes and asphalts? He's laying some credible foundation that subsequent administrations may build on. I read something about the Anambara Integrated Development Strategy which even the world bank and USAID has praised for its comprehensiveness. That's what's lacking in most states in Nigeria. Besides, Gov Peter Obi shouldn't be judged based on the achievements of other Govs. The funds accruing to the state is limited and he's been able to prudently manage what he gets to serve the needs of his state - and the citizens are not complaining. Ask Abia State or Imo State residents when in doubt. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. Much of his first term was spent either being impeached or having to fight off the threat of impeachment. Though I am not from Anambara, but Gov Obi has earned my respect and admiration in the way he's piloted the affairs of his state. Much of the state roads are in good conditions (except for the Federal roads), he's investing much in schools and health care (primary level) |
For those with the guts to look at more grotesque pictures of the massacre, take a look at this link. It's really horrible. http://community.vanguardngr.com/photo |
The sack was announced on NTA 24 18:00 Hrs news update. The next update would be at 19:00Hrs (Nigeria Time) if you are interested in hearing it from the govt's megaphone NTA http://www.watchnta.com |
bodejohn:I heard it on NTA 6pm News Update. Aondoakaa was reassigned (demoted) to Special Duties while Kayode Tokunbo (SAN) promoted as the new AGF |
mama-gee:didn't quote you. I only attempted answering your poser |
mama-gee:Aondoakaa and Tura'i |
The only way to test if Jonathan is "in charge" and discharging the functions of the president, is for him to announce the sack of Aondoakaa with immediate effect so we see what their reaction would be - whether or not he would accept his authority and step down |

please explain.
