Please Nairalanders I need a sound advise on how to securely and profitably invest my N100 million in Nigeria. Anyone knowledgeable in investment matters should please give me an opinion.
Mods, please push it to where it can be seen.
run from all this people promising you 40% gain in one year, it is hardly feasible in this administration. you can look for students lodges around and buy, or cheap public houses with a good % of the money and renovate and rent out, while the rest can start up something small, you won't make gains in millions immediately but be rest assured you won't loose your capital.

CrimeRe: Customer Robbed Of N1 Million After MTN Allegedly Gave Access To Her SIM. by Chidonc(m): 12:39pm On Aug 10, 2018
QuickStandard:
Similar thing happened to me two weeks back.

So, two weeks ago been wednesday 25/07/2018 i came back early and went straight to my wife's shop, I dropped my Phone on top her table, carried my baby and decided to get noodles to eat from a lady who prepare noodles just across her shop.

When i came back I was like swht where's my phone, she looked at me and said she didn't see my phone that she only saw the ear phones and brought them inside.
I told her that the earphones were with the phones when I left.

That was when she remembered that a guy came to the shop immediately I left and wanted to buy almost everything, he requested for soap, tea, drinks, milk and some other things, and after she arranged everything the guy said he want to take cash from someone overthere to pay, and she (my wife) happy that she's gonna sell lot of stuffs was unsuspecting of anything.

It was after the guy left, she waited and the guy never returned before i came back.

That was when it dawned on us that the guy must have taken the phone while she was busy arranging his requests.

We dialed the number and it was already switched off.

I tried calling MTN to block my line, but the answering machine kept talking, i couldn't talk to any costumer care Rep.

Later in the night at about 7.25pm precisely we tried the number and it was ringing but the thief kept busying the calls.
that was when I realized something must be fishy because;

1. My Phone is pass worded, meaning my phone can't be accessed unless he's gonna flash the phone that night, and even if he does meaning all the info in my phone would be gone, so I wasn't loosing sleep

2. I have two sim in the phone, the second sim was still switched off.

my thoughts, why will my mtn sim be on and the second line off?

so we started dialing the number, the criminal kept on cutting the calls.

I was worried, does it mean these guys want to commit fraud with my line? why will someone still a phone and instead of throwing away the sim card< he still kept the sim.

I decided to go online to see the easiest way to talk to mtn costumer care service.
until i saw this;

"How To Easily Reach Any MTN Customer Care Rep? Dial 180. Press 9 to go the main menu. Press 6 for support. Press 0 to speak with a Customer Care Rep.".

I followed the procedures and finally i spoke with them to blocked the line.

after asking me a couple of questions and answering them successfully, they promised to block the line.

we kept on calling my line afterwards and it kept on ringing, till someone with well spoken English picked and sincerely i rained curses on him, the guy cut and i called him back he picked, He now told me to calm down that he's a police officer, and that the person that stole my phone was already arrested, that i should come to the station 8.am the next morning.

I told him to give me his number that i have already called mtn to block the line, He declined giving me his number saying there's no need, that his name is Osas, once i get to the station I should ask of him.

After I dropped to my surprise he called me back and said I should call mtn not to block the line, I said ok, but I decided not to call MTN back.

first thing in the morning the following day, I went to the station to complain but I was told there's no officer with the name osas in that station, that I have been deceived.

So i went to MTN office to retrieve my line.

But decided to check my account balance, lo and behold, the some of 15k had already been deducted from my account.

How did they manage to do that i don't know, but thank God for the timely intervention of MTN agent that night.

But all I know is that the line is the line linked with my BVN number and that's what i use to receive alert.

immediately my sim cad was active yesterday all the alert were just pouring in, and to my surprise they were removing, 1000, 2000, 1000......
but thank God that they didn't remove everything once, towards the end before the line was blocked, they even checked my balance to know how much was remaining.

Only God know what would have happen to my account if the line wasn't swiftly blocked.

Am sharing this so that others can also learn. These fraudster are real and ready to wreck havoc.

My advice to everyone that encounters this, is that he/she should call mtn customer care service to immediately block the said line.
actually they recharged with your line, if they where able to transfer it would not have been 1k, 2k etc,

Curiouscity:
While I abhor domestic violence in any form, I have a question or 2 about the said loan. Where did the woman borrow the money for the husband (abi horseband)? Bank, friend, relative or herself? Was the husband carried along during the loan procurement?

Some spouses are in the habit of telling their partners that the money is a loan from somewhere, whereas, it is their money. If the partner discover this, then that money is gone. Men and women alike.

Be it as it may, it shouldn't lead to physical abuse.
even at that , a loan is a loan whether the money belongs to your spouse or their relatives, let the man pay back the loan given to him period.

Chommieblaq:
There's nothing wrong with how was your night.
One of the interpretation can also mean "hope you had a sound sleep".

If something is wrong with asking how was your night, then something is also wrong with these; "how was your day", "how's school" and many others
learn pls and stop this act of justification of what you don't know,
how was your night is only OK when used in hospitals by doctors or other staff to patients about how their night went as most deaths occurs in the night and patients usually have rough nights ,other than this, the phrase has an underlying connotation of sex buried within it. to the native English speakers, that question is offensive.

OgaInnocent:
Point of correction. Doctors can disrespect other health professionals because they are not their rivals. But if there is disrespect by nigerian doctors to JOHESU, it is simply reactionary due to their (JOHESU) continued challenge of the doctors. Imagine a graduate of medical laboratory science hanging stethoscope on his neck and saying he is a diagnostic doctor. Can u imagine that? Does that happen in your civilized setting?

In Nigeria, every one working in the hospital is answering a doctor. Doctors can't just fold hand and watch them. So any action by the doctors is reactionary. Otherwise, what does a doctor gain by victimizing a nurse who has done him no wrong. But when a nurse starts claiming he /she can do what d doctors can do...I wonder!! My brother, just reason that.
hey, shut up.

I think some women exaggerate it...they probably never get help from their husbands on a normal day and are trying to punish him cheesy.

I hardly had cravings i couldn't control. I never woke hubby up for food. I still did things myself...still cooked for him most times. And if i didn't feel up to cooking, i would tell him to get food.

An older friend said he drove to abule egba from surulere to look for masa (i think it is a Ghanaian food) and he once went to a mango sellers house at almost midnight because his wife wanted mangoes.

The question is...what do single pregnant women do? With no husband or man to send around. From experience i realized that this cravings can be controlled. Not the one that one pregnant woman will go and beg for jollof rice where they are cooking as she is passing by cheesy cheesy

I won't go into any long sermon on this I'll just speak from personal experience.

No Nigerian woman is worth the trouble ahead. Infidelity is a serious Nigerian girl issue and it won't leave after marriage rather it will only get worse since her lifelong ambition has been fulfilled and she is now at peace.

Nigerian girls are materialistic and selfish. They do not truly understand the term "love".

Every Nigerian girl 25 & above has engaged in prostitution of some sort be it openly or 'coded'. There are corporate oloshos now sef. By prostitution I mean sleeping with a man for financial gain.

They are just not worth it.

I seriously doubt if I'll ever get married to a Nigerian girl. I'll have two kids from 2 different women & that's it.

Quote me & bash me but kindly produce counter-points or disprove my points while you do so. Oh & lest I forget I have no sisters & my mom is late too.

Goodnight.

CareerRe: Should I Dump My Bsc Degree To Be A Mechanic Apprentice? by Chidonc(m): 1:26pm On Apr 15, 2018
ewa20buredi100:
Hi,
I need your advice or counsel on this issue that has been giving me sleepless night.
I am sharing this on nairaland because i feel there are men and women of mature minds and who have lots of experiences on here from diverse walks of life who can be of help.

I have been unemployed for almost 10months now, though before now i worked as a Chemistry teacher for some years until tragedy struck early last year(lost a very vital person in my life). I had to quit the teaching job (because the incident happened at the time where the senior students were preparing for their WASSCE) and as the first born i had funeral rites to perform.
After the burial things weren't too pleasant with me, so i had to re-locate from Lagos to Benin (to stay with an Uncle). My plan was that after everything i would go for any professional course or do one of these HSE courses to boost my chances of getting a job, but due to re-location and financial constraint i had to think of something else.

It happens that where i am currently staying in Benin; along Benin-Agbor road, close to NNPC depot before Benin-Agbor by-pass; has this influx of trailers and heavy duty trucks transporting goods and PMS/diesel/coaltar to and from other states.
Hence the availability of lots of truck's spare-parts markets in the area as well truck mechanics with shops everywhere dealing in repairs of different types of truck (Scania, MACK, M.A.N diesel, etc).

Being that i have been idle for a while now, a thought just came to me that instead of staying idle why not apply to be a Diesel Injector engine mechanic apprentice.

I want to know if that thought is worth giving a try and what are the things that may likely happen being that i did not read an engineering course from the University and what may become of my life. I am 28years of age.

Please help a brother by pushing it to front page mod.

Divorce or accept his wishes only?
No other option?

What about persuasion and discussion?
Nigerian in laws have a way of intruding into other family members marriages and they can persuade the man to chase her out and seize her children.
I don't get why many Nairaland men have a strong anti women mentality.
And by the way it truly isn't about money. Not to brag but our dad worked in SPDC for over 30years and amassed millions of naira and cats and properties for his children. We can all sit down comfortably for the rest of our lives without working, we have enough. And my parents sponsored their wedding because he was still a struggling up coming young man. I can assure you she does not want his money.
He doesn't have a quarter of what she has.

I disagree. You think Nigerian farmers can afford that chemical. You are off point. The only few companies I know who go though this processes are Starcek in Kano, Imperial Grains and the like who supply grains and PKC to poultry mills all over the South. They don't use gas chloride to dry corn and not ripen. The average farmer will just store the products inside a wooden silo with zinc roof that will turn the brain of the prouduct so it can ripen fast. Abeg ignore this write up and enjoy your food. Only imported foods are the killer here not the local ones. Most of the fruits in shoprite are total poison. Stay away from that shyt. Just buy their wine and gadgets but not the edible

Removed your rose colored glasses and admit that the man has a physical disability. 90% of people who meet him will not have an opportunity to assess him based on his personality and character, they will at first assess him physically, and that is where he will encounter road blocks.

Liberal thought is great, but sometimes, one has to say things the way they are. If you had a choice, will you give out your daughter to a physically deformed man?

Every other thing is secondary to my impression of him. Yes, he could be a great provider, a great father, and the richest man in ten local governments, but it doesn't subtract from the fact that this man is deformed, although I should add by no fault of his.
I see nothing wrong if my daughter comes home with such a man for a husband, the only thing I look for in a man is his ability for him to take care and fend for his family, a good father and husband , we don't have it all in life, I have seen marriages, I can confidently tell you it her choice
