Triciana gal: That's untrue, with today's economy more and more women are becoming the main breadwinners. Women are constantly marrying men who make less than them as long as those men can show that they are not lazy. Talking about dating unemployed men, truth is most men theses days also won't date an unemployed woman. It is because everyone wants someone who adds value. So on your own world once a woman had more money the man becomes a wifeWoman breadwinners in Nigeria ?No, once I financially take over the responsibilities of a man, then to me he is my wife. Even if I earn less, he still needs to honour his responsibilities. I wouldn't take over a mans responsibility, as I would be denting his ego. He will eventually go and look somewhere where he is useful. |
buchito1: Blood of jesus!!Apparently it washed our sins ![]() |
Triciana gal: My dear don't get it twisted, the man us the head but not because of material things he can give me. It is because I choose to follow God's word and accord him that respect. So bride price or no bride price, rent or no rent a woman he is the head. So I agree with you that a man is the head but never because of the things you stated. If a man fails to provide, or is not gainfully employed, woman are the first ones to cry foul. They never dare date that man, talkless of marriage and you are telling me that does not matter. That absolutely untrue. No woman can date a man who is unemployed and who cannot provide. Hence some men postpone marriage until they are financial stable because they are meant to provide You yourself wont date an unemployed men ![]() Personally I dont want to marry my wife, I wanna marry my husband ![]() |
gothrones: There is no equality in the Nigerian culture; in particular, there can be no equality if a bride price is paid. Where I live, you simply marry anyone you want to. You don't buy them. How can you claim equality if you are paying? In some marriages there is equality, hence I said men should not be deprived of that last right left of them. Men are not our wives, They are our husbands and should be given that opportunity to be husbands. ![]() |
Triciana gal: Yes he is the head but not because of bride price or shelter, Yorubas do not collect bride price and in today's world most women contribute to the rent or house building in fact some women are the full breadwinners. Those are not the things that make a man the head."There can never be two bulls in one kraall" - African proverb. In any company there is one CEO. If you can provide all those things for yourself, marry yourself then. If you go with that mentality in marriage, u will divorce earlier than Kim Kardashian ![]() |
I am a self proclaimed feminists, but I am against woman turning man into their wives ![]() A woman is married to a man and therefore takes after his surname, so man should not be deprived of that last right that is left for them please. ![]() Yes we are equals, but he paid the bride price, provided shelter and name to be used for that house. So please, this is Africa. ![]() |
cynhamscakes: If the child belongs to the man totally, so the woman is just an incubator and baby pumping machine?Who pays the dowry and provide shelter and a surname to be used for that shelter ![]() |
Secularist: LOL okay oooo |
Secularist: Thank you, Thank you!!Whats a PM. I am not education. Hope you understand |
Paroman: what a waist?? iyanya, is that you??No. Do I talk like iyanya ![]() |
Heeeeeee, Op like your spirit ooo. ![]() You sound casual and funny and lively How does one apply for the pozison ![]() |
Im not Igbo.
Thank God ![]() |
you are trash yourself.
If you are Igbo, your parents didn't do any justice to our tribe. ![]() |
Joshthefirst: My parents are igbo and yoruba. The problem is not that the child cannot or wont be exposed to both languages. Their problem is marital peace because the wife neglect Eson. This little thing shakes their peace. The child will pick up Yoruba at school and around friends and his mom. The child should embrace his identity first before his moms. For peace, wife should stop resisting and teach the child his language. Yoruba will definitely follow by virtue of their current location and little injection from the mom. |
Is there no Yoruba man out here to defend his sister? Can you bear a man from another ethnic group bed your sister/daughter, and then prevent her from speaking/allowing her child to speak his/her language? I can never allow anyone from my tribe to marry outside. Ill disown them. TUFIAKWA! ![]() SAY NO TO INTER-TRIBAL MARRIAGES! LET US SAVE OUR KIDS FUTURES! LET US SAVE OUR LANGUAGES, CULTURES AND TRIBES! LET US DO OUR HUMAN DUTY!
What a waist ![]() |
yellowpawpaw: To some of us saying the guy has a complex problem, I wonder why such comment. I hv seen igbo, yoruba, edo, or rivers men insist their kids learn their language first. In this case the husband is the wife and the wife is the husband. He is basically married to the woman. ![]() |

In this case the husband is the wife and the wife is the husband. He is basically married to the woman. ![]() |
PasD: I dnt get it. Why? What's wife league with children. ?Meaning the wife is the thief with her kids. Stealing his cellphone, thereby paying big big phone bills. ![]() |
Wrong!! My brothers and I, even cousins were born and bred in Lagos, we don't speak Yoruba. Anyway, these are part of the challenges of inter-tribal marriages. Its just safest to marry from your tribe irrespective of what people think. I won't use my marriage to unite Nigeria abeg. Let Jonah and Co do that!!
![]() |
masonkz: Hmm. So I guess they consistently have to be on treatment even after the whole transplant.Well the woman is informed with regard to both his conditions. The problem is making a decision as the condition may affect their se..ual health, life expectancy, loss of fertility, lack of libido, future plans even depression when all thing are not going accordingly etc. We are talking about two conditions here. Diabetes and kidney failure. ![]() Lets see, i may move it |
ireneidiva: are you sure you are not sick again? Op, he can learn both languages at the same time. Just talk to your hubby. The baby is ur kid too.If you refering to me being sick, No. But I was thinking you may be sick ![]() |
obyrich: PasD ask uncle how he would feel if his wifey puts a secret password on her phone? Any man or woman who passwords his phone is a suspect. However, I know someone who did that to prevent his children from stealing airtime from his phone. In that case, it is justifiable to lock the phone with a secret password if the wife is in league with the children in the game. @ wife league with the children. I have also heard of man who was paying $1200 per month on phone bill because of wife and kids ![]() |
ileobatojo: What a nauseating thread.Abeg, stop being condescending to her hubby. Its still her hubby. We are trying to fix things here and you come with your bad attitude. ![]() Households have different surnames because they are different. I the Ileobatojo does it in a certain way does not mean the Achebes have to do the same. Go sleep jare. ![]() |
kendraloops: Trust me, I've been doing that. I can make 1 or 2 sentences with his language. His parents even praise how fast I've learnt some words.Continue luv. Stop resisting as well. You cant divorce because of this ![]() |
PasD: mum is loving ya swagPlease help uncle join Nairaland, abeg. Make me talk to uncle ![]() |
kendraloops: I even try to give him the example of Segun Arinze (yoruba n igbo names) but he's quick to dismiss it.Teach his child his own. While injecting a little Yoruba. Make him feel that his is important. . Show interest in his language yourself. If you resist he will persist and more fights. You don't want that do you ![]() |
PasD: wish you were here to hear comments. Infact uncle wanna join nairaland now so that he can blast chinelo (the lady above)Tell him am waiting. I have my garri next to me ![]() |
5 months ? ![]() Some people got big liver, eeehn |
PasD: hehehehe mum says you're a smart gyal. Good for daughter inlaw (bolded part)Tell your mom I said Ask uncle, how am I selfish ![]() |
masonkz: But the guy should also understand. He should have known such issues would come up before marrying from another tribe. Most people that marry from other tribes always have their children bearing names from the two tribes, even though the child may be commonly known by just one while the other is silent.See now, we want man to marry us. ![]() If the child bears his surname, he has all the rights over the name of the child. Even when they divorce, the child will continue bearing his fathers name not his mother surname. Just that some guys are very nice. She was suppose to ask him nicely. Especially for boy kids, as they grow up they want to belong and a sense of belonging is first determined by the name. ![]() |
PasD: my uncle with his friend are just hail u......Its true. Skeletons nothing else. Why would one hide a phone with a list of phone numbers and sms's from MTN and the bank ![]() Personally I cannot marry someone I don't know. NO |
