Very funny story. They got so drunk and the he-goat Abada decided to give out his grandchild. However, if Ugwu did not return to Lagos, he would and could live a normal married life with this child. These things happen in almost all villages in Africa. These 'Child rights' campaigners should take their campaigns to the rural areas. Not sit in the comfort of their city homes collecting aid from local and foreign donors. Ugwu and Nneka would be a married couple if he chose to remain in the village.

Yes, but the people washing dead bodies in Nigeria are NOT university graduates. They are usually old, semi-educated mortuary attendants. This is the point most of you are missing. Some Nigerian mortuary attendants in the West are masters degree holders in Nigeria. One might be earning Dollars, Euros or Pounds in the west, but Nigerians doing such jobs have zero job satisfaction and are mostly frustrated. Same goes for Cleaners and street sweepers.

The 'Myth' about washing dead bodies came about because the people who do it in the West would rather die than do it in Nigeria. We have to be honest to ourselves. It's not the job itself, but the fact the you have to stoop so low to do that in a Western country after all your dreams. Dead bodies are being washed daily in Nigeria by happy mortuary attendants.

It's the average wealth of a people that matters. Igbos have the largest spread of all Nigerian ethnic groups. I have never heard anything as funny as "changing the land use law for non residence". Who are the "non residents" if I may ask. Is it people from Benin republic, Ghana, Togo or Niger. Even an Igbo, Hausa, Edo or Warri guy that arrived Lagos yesterday is a resident as long as he can produce an address.
FYI the non-residents may end up being all you immigrants from Osun, Oyo, Ekiti or Ondo.

Igbos don't like Yorubas. You can argue all you can, the record don't lie. Igbos only tolerate Yorubas, while the Yorubas accept the Igbos as equals and fellow citizen.

And there's this disturbing fact that always come about when misunderstanding between these two arises; the "biafra" issue. They always put in the "we should have our own country" bs.

Again, Igbos are angry people. Always referring to the Yorubas as dirty at the slightest opportunity. I think Buhari should give them Biafra for peace to reign. Igbos fight Hausas, Yorubas and any tribe that is non-Igbo. Very indrustrious peole, but too greedy and unwelcoming.

You may have a point on the bolded, but have you tried to research why?. There is a real reason for that feeling. It has to do with the very unreliable nature of the average Yoruba man. If you live in Lagos and have to deal with the average and everyday Yoruba in a business relationship, you will go crazy. All the stereotypes of them being lazy, dirty, unreliable, not trustworthy and snitches come to play. The best way to know the true nature of a people is when you deal with the not so educated artisans of each group.
I once gave several Yoruba furniture makers a contract to build some furniture for me. They collected 50% money in advance and never delivered. I got so pissed off that I consciously started looking for an Igbo or Edo furniture man. Finally got an Igbo guy, gave him just 5% advance payment and the work was done and delivered at the agreed time.
Same thing applies to Mechanics, brick layers, carpenters etc. When it comes to these artisans, we have no choice but to use Yoruba people. They are virtually the only tribe you can find in these professions in Lagos. So my friend, Yorubas have contributed a lot to this "dislike" by other tribes. Their mentality will drive a serious minded person nuts. I don't even want to discuss the attitude of the Yoruba woman. There is a reason most other Nigerians in Lagos will rather starve than visit a typical Yoruba restaurant.

@Cribpark, a nice way to advertise your business. Some relatives a not reliable, but many building contractors are also big thieves. It's risky to channel money directly to them. A trusted somebody is needed to monitor them. Could be a relative or a good friend.

You will know that Lagos is NO MAN'S LAND when your ratchet azz is deported to Osun or Ondo state first before 'Chidi' and ' Adullahi' are deported to Enugu and Kano states respectively. Better reconcile with the fact that Yoruba's don't own Lagos. You own Oyo, Ogun etc.

Before 1914, Lagos was a small community trading route used by Bini empire to trade with Portuguese and also ship the captured slaves to North America, The Bini empire called lagos, Eko and white colonizers changed the name to lagos. Before the defeat of Bini empire in Eko, Eko is just a riverline community inhabited mainly by Aworis, Egun, Yorubas and Ijaws. Before the advent of oil, the British developed lagos with money from, Cocoa, Coal mining in Enugu, Rubber plantation from Ondo, Bendel and Abia, Palm oil sales from Ondo and Eastern Nigeria. The entire lagos Island was sand filled by British and they built lagos for more more 100 years from 1851 when they seize it and annex it from Binis, and they built lagos with money from all their colonizing territories in Southern protectorate which include the present day SW,SE,SS and some part of NC (former middle belt) part of Nigeria before the amalgamation in 1914.

Thank you for educating all these migrants from Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti and Ogun who think that Lagos belongs to them. Lagos remains a "No man's land". It belongs to us all. Lagos and Abuja are actually the main reason why it will be difficult to divide Nigeria. They will always have special status.
