Caseless: God forgive and deliver me from this nairaland inflicted disease/madness.
I just checked their names! It's your right to check the names. NL encourages that. But please do check the names too when a thread is posted about a 3 year old child cut open and her heart ripped out. Or a headless young girl that was raped. As a confirmed Igbo man, I would rather be associated with 'hard working' dope dealers than those disgusting and cowardly Yo-robbers who butcher innocent people for money which they will never get anyway. Are you 'name checkers' aware that someone invested millions of naira in this deal that went wrong. By the end of the day it's a business. It's not like they went to Dubai to steal the drugs. They simply chose to run a very high risk biz hoping for higher returns. Something these "Ofe"people are too chicken to get into. |

bibelo: I agree with you in some aspects but disagree with you on the ethnic capital of some people. Lagos is pure Yoruba land, and very accommodating, show me any south east state that ever appointed a Yoruba man in its executive cabinet? None. .... But Lagos appointed Ben akabueze as commissioner for economic planning and budget for 8years, a post that has approval limit for expenditures above the approval limit of the deputy governor. The slogan is now "Itesiwaju Eko lo je wa logun". Sorry to disappoint you. Lagos is NOT pure Yoruba land. Ibadan, Ife, Akure, Ondo etc are pure Yoruba lands. Lagos is not. Accept it and move on. If you wish to compare SE states with Yoruba states, then compare them with Oyo, Ondo, Osun etc. Not Lagos. There are millions of non-Yorubas born and bred in Lagos since the 1930s. What the Hausas did at Mile 12 should be a reminder to you that Lagos belongs to all Nigerians. Even the British separated it from the Western region back in the day. |

I am very angry over what they did to this child. What kind of stoopid superstition is that. I'm also pissed off about the fact that many Nigerians in Hope's neighbourhood saw him like that and did nothing. It took the intervention of a foreign woman(White and Danish) for Hope to be rescued. How much does baby milk and bread cost in Nigeria. A Big Shame to all those that saw Hope in his hopeless situation and did nothing.
Many thanks to this Danish woman. |

Adaure4ever: No. I wanted to counter this lady whinning with facts. Nollywood has yoruba actors/actresses who have excelled in the industry. People may mistaken Olu Jacob as an Igbo man due to his regularity in playing Igwe but He is a yoruba.. You see my point now. ...or Sam Loco RIP who knew all the nuances and punch lines in Igbo language. I was amazed to find out he was an Edo man. Nollywood is Igbo. Period. Mercy is complaining about Yoruba actors, what about Hausa actors. Do you hear them complain, despite the fact that they have their own channel on DSTV. Mercy think say she don open eye. Yoruba movies are for Yoruba people.. Chikena. They should not expect any mention from Nollywood. |

engrchykae: my dear am from imo state but col joe achuzie from delta state is my best fighter of the war. I respect his flexibility to withdraw and counter saving us men and materials. Also Conrad nwanwo did well too infact the deltans such as achuzie made sacrifices for the igbo hinterland by not allowing 2nd division under murtala to cross into the hinterland which frustrated the rabid dog to almost wipe out asaba. So dont try to discredit all because of a few. Remember General phillip effiong too made sacrifices, when ojukwu fled, most of the people who prepared the surrender documents were niger deltans such as achuzie, effiong,Conrad.then igbos like sir Louis mbanefo and others so that i won't say what i dont know.but give the deltans credit.they shared in the pain. There is no tribe in Nigeria called "the Deltans". You guys need to get that into your thick skulls. All the people you mentioned are IGBOS. |

legendte: No tribe is more Nigerian than the Igbos. We own properties at every nook and cranny of this country. how many yorubas or hausas own a property or participate actively in Igbo land? We go to other zones, develop it, speak their language, pay tax, live orderly despite the civil war memories. Igbos are very peaceful, their flaws sometimes is the extreme love of money and ambition. Very competitive, very diligent and accommodating. I just don't know why the hate on Igbos. Remove Igbo and Nigeria would be at par with Niger Republic or Cameroon. If only other tribes would stop the prejudice they have about Igbos, Nigeria would be great. 90% of name recognition of Nigeria outside Nigeria come from the Igbos. Whether good or bad, Igbos are the ones that make Nigeria known abroad. It's not just about UK and USA here, also about Malaysia, Vietnam, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Indonesia, India, Angola, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea and almost all nations on the planet. If money is to be made in Antartica, Igbo man go go there. Nigerians need to appreciate that. Igbos are definitely the most 'Nigerian' of all tribes. Show some respect. |

abdulwastecx: People make a lot of generalization without visiting any part of the country proper.
How do you know that igbos have the highest middle income class in Nigeria? How do you know that igbos have the highest literacy group in Nigeria. How do you know they have the lowest poverty and even distribution of wealth? Without any statistics to back your assertion, you are just another tribal bigot.
Igbos are quite hardworking and very industrious, same can be said about yorubas and hausas. Igbo dominate retail industry in Nigeria, yorubas dominate artisantry, technical work ( hand work).
I have been to a quiet number States in Nigeria and I can see poor people e be everywhere, bad roads, lack of proper sanitation, epileptic electric supply, illiteracy etc. I am presently in anambra and I can see anything different from say ondo or niger state There are also dirt poor people in USA and Europe. So what's your point. Every Igbo man cannot be rich. Why don't you carry out a research and come up with the statistics. There is no doubt the Igbos have the lowest poverty rate and even distribution of wealth in Nigeria. You do not have to go to Igbo land to do your research. Take Lagos for case study. Or even Kano before the Boko boys came. |

jmichlins: I hope my Igbo brothers will see that many people are giving up on tribalism yet we sulk over an election done and dusted almost a year a ago. Imagine an hausa man as an appointee to obiano be sure he wants to islamize anambra or okorocha, he will be called a bastard who found his way here. Yet our people are appointed all over the country and do not tell me we are efficient and hard working cause last time i checked hausa and yoruba men are the richest men in africa. Make you no kill me cause am still son of the soil that is telling you the truth I cannot stand snakes like you. A gutless coward who cannot come out straight with his real ethnic id, but claim to be Igbo. We can smell the "mmanu"(red oil) all over you. There are ethnic Igbos in Kogi and Benue states. So appointing an Igbo man there cannot be that strange. May I also remind you that the wealth of a people is not measured by the richest man- that one man wonder- but by the richest group of people. Only kids like you measure the 'hard work' of a group of people by the wealth of that 'one man wonder'. Igbos are without doubt the richest Tribe in Nigeria. It's a law of averages..F00L. |

You sound bitter. Too bad ya Igbo folks don't have the same business IQ for incremental growth in net worth when it comes to flipping, apart from making noise everywhere and chest beating. I'd rather put my money in a fixed deposit account than invest in an Igbo man - FACT.
All ya Igbo folks who made a lot of looted money during GEJ's era especially via waivers and theft are soon going to be broke again. However, the Yoruba ones would end up turning the money into wealth. That's the difference between the business IQ of a Yoruba man and an Igbo noise making trader. No problem bro. But we are talking real businessmen here, NOT co*ck suckers. Though I would agree with you that Adenuga is a shrewd businessman. He managed and invested the money he got very well.
