Wetin we dey come up North come do ?!!. Na Camel we wan use bring in the container ?. Old boy, you are totally irrelevant in the scheme of things. Just keep sending us the tomatos and yams. Yorubas should be very grateful to God for giving them such a territory and very very thankful to Igbos and other Nigerian ethnic nationalities for helping them develop it to what it is today.
Instead of being jealous of the Igbos, they should be thankful. The Yoruba people I know could never have made Lagos what it is today if left on their own.
I know the mantra " No man's land" really pisses Yorubas off, but there is an element of truth in it. You guys need to do a detached analysis and evaluation.

You have point though, but no need of any insult or name callings. But that you own a home or properties in Britain ,does it makes u a British?
Dumb analysis!. No Igbo man is claiming to be Yoruba. Igbo remains Igbo no matter where he lives or buys property, including in the UK. The British man will never use the word "Accommodating" to refer to the man to whom he sold his property. It is purely a business transaction.

So, In Lagos, no body is 'accommodating' anybody. Every Nigerian has the right to buy and own property anywhere in Nigeria. You reserve the right NOT to sell. Igbos are in Lagos to STAY.

I read this crap in the Vanguard. Who made Bose Adelaja a journalist? How could Vanguard employ such an illiterate to cover stories. The level of bias in her reporting is stomach churning.

Shame on Vanguard Newspaper for even publishing this nonsense. The name Bose Adelaja is noted. I will lead a campaign to ensure that she is sacked for the sake of Nigerian unity. Vanguard, take note.

Not a Biafran. But proudly Igbo. Does Buhari have a Nigerian accent ?. Does OBJ have a Nigerian accent?. Maybe you should try to answer these questions. Maybe you will understand what I mean.

Dr. Omalu would speak with an Igbo accent.

Terrible accent.

Don Cheadle can do flawless Cockney but Will Smith cant even be bothered to learn the accent?

Why didnt they just give it to Chiwetal who is BOTH A-List and Igbo?
On point. Chinwetalu Ejiofor's accent on the movie ' Half a yellow sun' was 98% Igbotic. He would have played Dr. Omalu very well.

You mean an IGBO accent. A Nigerian accent does not exist. Dr. Omalu is Igbo.

PoliticsRe: FG To Slash Federal Lawmakers’ Salaries by Chinom(m): 8:29am On Aug 26, 2015
Long overdue. Besides, why pay them monthly salaries at all. They should be paid sitting allowance, and be made to live in their won houses. Politicians must be discouraged from seeing the NASS as a bounty. Most of them see the money they spent to get there as an investment that has to be recovered.

Let's give the NASS back to the people. Slash the allowances deeply.

This shows how ignorant you are about Lagos and what goes on in it. A good look at the picture and the location of the incident ( olodi-Apapa) will tell that those guys doing the burning are Igbos. The car thief will most likely be an Edo, Delta or Yoruba man.

Olodi-Apapa is heavily populated by Igbo car dealers, clearing agents and importers. Igbos are more likely to burn you to death. If you steal at Obalende or Ikorodu you are more likely to be beaten to death by Yoruba thugs. This necklace treatment is a speciality of Igbos. However, ALL forms of jungle justice is barbaric.

PoliticsRe: Too Much Talk About Probe, A Distraction, Kukah Tells Buhari by Chinom(m): 9:36am On Aug 13, 2015
He can probe or investigate GEJ and his ministers, but any probe that excludes OBJ, Atiku and Tinubu is a sham. If Buhari does not bring these people to court, then his whole anti-corruption stance is a fraud.

In China, people who left office 20 years ago are still being sent to jail for corruption. In Isreal, a former PM was sent to jail several years after he left office. OBJ and Atiku must be included for fairness and equity. Otherwise the boys in the creeks will rise again.

If the lecturer can provide the used condom or if the girl admits that a condom was used, it's case over. No rapist takes a break to put on a condom and no "Rapee" would stand and wait for the rapist to gently wear his condom.

The condom is the key to this case. It may be consentual sex afterall.

Oga, Since when has someones personal opinion become an offense? If you run a legitimate business and your government wakes up with a policy that puts you in a very awkward and difficult position how would you feel? Which bigger picture are you talking about here anyways? Coming up with a policy that totally cripples legitimate businesses who rely solely on outsourcing almost everything without succor to those people all in the name of tracking down money launderers is a no no! I believe your opinion will be totally different when a very close family member of yours dies simply because you need to deposit @5,000 for surgery abroad and y'all have the money and more but simply cannot send it out. Make sure you dont even shed a tear because like you said: ''endure for now and enjoy later'' NONSENSE!

---- 'E bulu ozu onye ozo n' isi odi ka ebu Ukwu nku' (When Another man’s corpse is being carried, it looks as if it were a log of wood)
No body's personal opinion is an offence. Including mine. But a situation in which a Nigerian will go to a Nigerian bank and demand to be paid in Dollars from his dom. account is crazy. I have travelled all over the world. Even in the most shitty countries in the world, the only way you can get dollar or pound sterling is through forex. either through the banks or the BDCs ( parallel market ).
If you do not know how to transact foreign businesses using Naira, then you're a novice in the business world. We cannot allow a situation in which someone will pay in Dollars into a Nigerian account and still make withdrawals in Dollar.
If I'm not mistaken, I think Western union has even started outward transfers from Nigeria in Naira. I can bet that this new policy of the banks, though temporary now, will become permanent with PMB in power.

ALL CASH BANK TRANSACTIONS IN NIGERIA SHOULD BE DONE IN NAIRA. Chikena !!

Most of your comments are from a very selfish and egocentric view point. You need to look at the bigger picture. Are you aware of how many millions if not billions of dollars that was wiped out of Dangote's fortune as a result of the recent crash in Naira. Such business men really understand the importance of a strong Naira. If you are truly a business man, pray for this policy to continue, endure for now and enjoy later.

Do you know that a Nigerian could buy a house in London for N20,000 in the early 70s ?.

Antiparticle:
Chei, why you finish me like this na? And why all the abusive words? Why is your commentary so angry huh

Anyways, while I agree with your statement that Emefiele likely used the word "arrested" purely for emotive reasons, it is still very unprofessional and cringeworthy of someone of this role. Someone who is responsible for the monetary policy of a large country as Nigeria should always try to avoid blatantly false statements because the markets are very sensitive to his utterances. Also, some people will mistakenly believe falsity that comes out of his mouth, regardless of his emotive intentions. False statements by Emefiele can have catastrophic consequences to investor confidence in our economy, which could further erode the Naira; this is fact.

Have a good night.
....you did not have to call the man " Clueless". To be a CBN governor no be beans. You took his words in a very simplistic manner. One more thing; don't you ever 'WEEP' for your country. Help to make it great. I do not know Mr. Emefiele and I have never met him.
Anyway, no hard feelings. Peace !!.

teeowl:
Bank cannot close all domiciliary accounts. Some companies (especially exporters) need domiciliary accounts to receive wire transfers from the U.S and they need it to cash dollar checks issued by U.S banks.
Wire transfers in Dollar will be converted into Naira and paid into those company's account. Face value of checks will also be cashed in Naira. Only the CBN should hold foreign currencies on behalf of money deposit banks.
You can't even hold an Euro dominated account in Great Britain despite it being a member of the EU. So why should we allow people to operate Dollar, Euro and Sterling accounts in Nigeria. We are killing our currency.

[[s]quote author=Antiparticle post=36575165]While I'm somewhat indifferent about the tactics that Emefiele and the banking industry employ to protect the Naira, I am disappointed that he (Emefiele) spoke like an uninformed illiterate on a topic he should know more about.

It is absolutely not true that you will be arrested if you try to pay Pound Sterling or Euro into a US bank account. I really can't believe that this guy is the CBN governor! How clueless.

Usually if you try to pay Euro or Pound Sterling into a US bank account, the bank will either refuse it or convert it to US dollars at a rate of their choosing (and with your consent). I have done this before!

Wonders shall never end. Emefiele needs to read or talk to his counterparts abroad so he can learn. I weep for my country.

[/s]

I was really not in the mood to post any comment on NL today, but your choice of words really pissed me off. In your simple, naive and moronic mind, you made a very intelligent statement. In reality, what you posted is complete garbage. Emefiele's use of the word ' Arrested' was just intended to drive home his point to stubborn Nigerians who insist on paying in Dollar into their accounts and withdrawing Dollar whenever they wish despite the fact that our national currency is the NAIRA.
What Nigerian banks are doing now is exactly what obtains in US and Europe. If you bring in your dollars or Euros, the bank will just convert it to Naira and credit your Naira account. If you do not like that, take your dollar to the parallel market, change it to Naira and come and deposit in your Naira account. That is a brilliant decision. It's the only way we can save, as well regain respect for our own currency.
I would like the banks to even go a step further and close all domiciliary accounts in foreign currencies.

Emefiele knows what he's doing. You, my friend, is just a phony dickhead.

I meant well by my statement, for all those attacking they can go to hell. I said I like hardworking men, does it means that it is material?

men always criticise women for anything so I'm not surprised and I'm not bothered.
I've seen guys with nothing on them, but they struggle everyday to make it. they go out to do odd jobs just to put food on their table, they invest what they have and keep pressing against fate. that was what I meant when I said I like hardworking men. did I said anything about money? did I said I needed a rich man?

all those men attacking are just on low self esteem, hard working guys rocks my boat any day anytime and I will say it over and over again.
I advice people to be their best, I advice them on learning work. I hate anything that will make me beg a man, I'm dependent and in control of myself.

so all those talking, make a life. hard work pays, dont think all women are after money, some women are hardworking just like some men.

everybody should be hardworking , I dont care if woman or man, be hardworking. for all those attacking and insulting me I wish you all that you wish me.
Girl, I feel your pain. I hope you've learnt your lesson. The worst thing you can tell a young Naija man is that you do not want to date him because he is broke. I know you used the word " hardworking ", but, we all can see through that façade. Even deeply loaded guys like us tongue do not like to feel that a girl is all over us just for the money.
If I tell you how I treat such girls, you would wish you had a broke-azz Naija man.
