davidylan:LOL, I agree. Naija don suffer. If not, why would being an American citizen(another country's citizen) be something to be proud of? ![]() It's good for jobs and school stuff sha but not on this particular thread, it just serves as a reminder of the country's failure. ![]() |
Nothing wrong with online dating oo but when they start 'pestering' you, run as fast as you can. buncha psychos!!! Some of them will even get your email address from God-knows-where and seek for a so-called 'friendship'. @poster, he wanted a fling; that is to have his cake and eat it too so long as you didn't know he had a girlfriend. |
Lmao, never heard the song but I'm sure there's nothing positive about the name. ![]() |
It's funny to me when people say they don't have any accent; EVERYONE has an accent. so long as you speak english which has become almost a universal language, different people use different accents while speaking english. It just depends on people's definition of the word. In America, when they say you have an accent, it means you have a foreign accent which is different from the American accent. They just have an ignorant way of saying it, like their way of speaking english emerged from nowhere. There's a Bostonian accent, a new york accent, a southern accent, etc. Ofcourse a Nigerian has an accent likewise an American, a Ghanaian, a Jamaican, Bajan, etc. To really answer the topic, inferiority complex is what is happening. which kain yeye accent that they don't want their kids to have?? I know there's an igbo accent, no doubt. I sure don't have it when speaking english and even if I do, so? ![]() |
LOL @ Oyinda. . .like heck yeah. some people are crazy sha. I mean, work can be annoying but don't take it out on me. All in all, just be nice to them, rudeness just gets them more frustrated with their job. |
FL Gators:LOL, too much stress. I love the green highlights. |
Wow, $osisi, that's a touching story!! I've heard worse stories though. You won't believe the things Nigerians go through when they first move abroad.Haha, no wonder people who work in restaurants be cranky. That's why I'm always nice to them, don't want anyone spitting or putting detergent in my food. It's happened to people, believe me. |
LOL you're funny sha. Like I said, the brothers didn't turn out to be the star he was. More money= more problems, does that sound familiar? Janet wasn't part of the Jackson five, I think she had it easier. You better watch how you speak about the dead. I still insist the father used him to gain fortune; I watched an episode on E! of parents who are their kid's managers(momagers and dadagers), it portrayed Joe Jackson in a bad light. Can't remember exactly what he did but he ruined MJ's life. End of. . |
I just wonder how girls with bangs wash their face. I mean the ones professionally done. ![]() |
Whatever, David. You lived with him that's how you know he lived a life of luxury. Reports claim that he was anorexic, there weren't much food found in his stomach rather dissolved pills. That sure doesn't sound like luxury to me, I'll pass. |
There are special lotions for using hot irons on the hair. |
More like his father damaged him at an early stage. I would say he contributed to 80% of his problems.
We're saying the same thing, buddy. davidylan:Same reason they're not referred to as the king of pop. His father damaged him, everybody knows that, he joined the group at 5. He basically had no childhood, he was all the while trying to gain 'fortune' for his father who was always pushing him. That explains his obsession with children; he wanted to get back his childhood. |
LOL, it's truly laughable. But hey, such is life. Anybody who breaks up with someone they had initially been professing love for over something so petty was never meant for you anyway. Too many crazy people in this world sha. |
I don't think it takes rocket science to figure out what Quincy Jones stated in the interview. It was glaring! But I'm pretty sure MJ's father contributed to these problems he faced. He was never the greatest father. |
Yes, I heard about the 12 suicides too. Most stupid thing anybody has done this year. Nonsense!!! |
Lmao @ the replies, nairalanders are cruel!! ![]() I too, don't know who they are but eeyah and good luck to them. ![]() |
Hmm. . .interesting. . |
Haha, same here. |
slimfine:Aww, that's so touching!! ![]()
why does it have to be "tufiakwa i didn't"
I know, right? LOL@topic, Nah. |
@topic, who knows Although a lot of people here know "African queen", I doubt many of them know it was sung by a Nigerian. |
Nas' hero is one of my best songs from him, the beat is tight too. Definitely haven't heard Mode nine's own. Post the lyrics, maybe I can give my opinion. |
FL Gators:OMG!! I remember that hairstyle. . .but mine used to be fly as shit ![]() |
Haha, Ariza has left the Lakers, I wanted him on my team though. Well, at least now I can stop hating him. The Rockets are not that important of a team for me to hate on them. No Wallace on the Celtics team And our starting 5 remains the same. Yes!! or . . .I don't even know. ![]() I wonder how Kobe and Artest are gonna cope with each other. This will be interesting. . . |
Hmmm. . .hopefully he's alright. They say it takes energy to love likewise hate. . .why put so much energy into someone who doesn't even know you exist? ![]() |
Hmmm @topic, yes the accent of Nigerian-Americans are different from that of Nigerians living in Nigeria. But claiming that Nigerian-Americans are dumb, speak incorrect english bla bla bla is totally false. The whole innit/waaa thingy is definitely a british thing. I started seeing people use "innit" since I registered on this site, Americans don't even know what those are. Of course Americans have their own slangs and not all of them use these slangs on a daily basis or during formal situations just like many educated naija people speak pidgin also but wouldn't speak it during a job interview. I've never had an experience whereby a Nigerian doesn't understand me. Well, I'll have to go back to naija to find out. They probably will understand me - I know how to switch the accents, I'm that good! ![]() |
No problem. Good luck! |
Yeah, or a doctor in general. And if you don't have one, just go to a store(you mentioned earlier about not relying on CVS/Walgreen's products) but it won't hurt to try. I buy most of my body products there. |
Blah! Not a big fan of tennis but I know more female players, which means I'd rather watch em. Thumbs up for the equal pay. Go Serena, Venus, Ivanovic, Oudin and co!!!!! Doesn't alter my life either way. ![]() |
Oh wow! I see it now, that's crazy. I never had those. you need to use something on it ASAP. |
LOL, iight. |
Oops, sorry I missed it. |
Lmao, what the hell was that^?? LOL @ "I have malaria", "Ashton Kutcher come out" hilarious!! Never heard of the guy. @Lala, what kinda koboko? ![]() |
