oluamid:So sorry to hear that. Kay9 has given me some valuable advice. |
MARKone:Ike gwulu. No sane person will agree to do that, not for all the money in the world. He may feel he is using her, but he is not free himself as his actions are bound to birth heavy spiritual consequences. Ochu nwa'okuko nwe ada... |
oluamid:If you've still got the pdf version of the books, can you please send to me? Bbm pin: 2a5ed601. Thanks. |
Explorers:Oh dear! I used that! And it wasn't my first either. |

Brimmie:What do you have in mind for your short? Do you have a theme? A synopsis? Or will anything do? I don't have a ready written script for a short film at the moment. I have a couple of full length movie scripts though. Let me know what you need and let's see if we can work something out. |
Oh, I can assure you that great scriptwriters abound in Nigeria. At the risk of sounding immodest, I think I am a very good scriptwriter. Unfortunately, those of us who make a living churning out scripts, are faced with a plethora of issues. I for one, have been forced over and over to churn out movie scripts of over 100 scenes in a week. Nollywood producers for the most part seem to have their feet solidly planted in the past. I have been repeatedly told to write scripts based on what they feel is trending. One person does a movie about a mystic river, and suddenly all producers want something in that mould. Another problem is lack of funds. I have had to rewrite scripts to make it cheaper and faster to produce. Of course, that hampers creativity. Some producers have told me my scripts are outlandish, and too difficult/expensive to achieve. Again, good scriptwriters, a lot of the time are not afforded the opportunity to meet adventurous producers and directors who will do justice to their scripts. |
Thanks. |
Pls add me as soon as you can so I can take down my number. Cheers. |
My alma mater, forever making me proud. Unizik is the cradle from which giants spring forth. Kudos to all giants out there! |
Whizpeter:That is the same phone I use and I have absolutely no issues with it. It's also sleek and stylish and attracts attention. |
Thanks for this piece. Educative threads are always a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, there's a dearth of them on NL these days. |
All these ones are western(oyibo) ghost haunting signs. Western ghosts are mild mannered and do not kill. If a ghost haunts you the the African, or even Naija way, you won't find the hands or heart to type your experience. |
dubylhover:Homeland became a pile of rubbish after the character Brody died. The plummet is astounding. It is that bad. |
femimat:We are in the same boat. Thank God for generators |
She's beautiful for sure, but what's with the duck gait? |
This same document was given to hubby and I when we got married in an Anglican church six years ago, so it's not new. The bride in fact, has to bring her dress to the church prior to the wedding for inspection. |
And just by the way, what on earth is an "attention tip"? Nairaland! |

SaiBuharii:This is a ridiculous and bold faced lie. |
rolled:You obviously have a problem reading, retard. Meanwhile you and Kimoni should kindly let me be. Keep using underaged girls as slaves. What goes around comes around. This is the last I'll say on this matter. I frankly don't have time for this immaturity and foolishness. |
Kimoni:Did you read the part where I adviced the original poster to get an elderly nanny if she needs someone to mind her kids? Your sarcasm will not change the facts. I make bold to say that a lot of women are lazy, period! If you see the amount of work these househelps are saddled with sometimes, you'll weep. These kids are exploited and treated badly and it has to stop. If you can't take care of your own children and bring them up yourself, then don't have them. I will not consider a live-in domestic help no matter how many children I have. |
I still don't understand why many women can't live without domestic help, and please don't give me the career excuse. I have a career, a husband who isn't hands on and a child and I manage just fine. Invest in home appliances like a washing machine and if you need help with cleaning, get someone to come in once or twice a week. This domestic help a.k.a house help issue usually doesn't end well, because there is always a sharp delieanation between the househelp and madam's kids. Your cousin's behaviour is bad, yes, but she is still a child just getting into her teens. How would you treat your child if she exhibits the traits you talked about? Would you be here complaining about it? Please send that girl home if you are tired of having her around. If the whole idea was to assist her parents with her upkeep, then send them a monthly allowance to do that. Get an elderly nanny for your kids or use a creche/after school service. There are still some good ones. And then roll up your sleeves and keep your home. |
@eddy, move if you can afford to. I can even manage chicken small, but turkey? The yeye thing will now puff out all its feathers and come charging with that ugly head. Black ones are especially mean. Save up and leave to avoid further embarrassment. |
Sijo01:Seeing that chick on that leg alone is giving me the heebie-jeebies. Feathered monsters or rodents, I don't know the one I hate most. As for the wedding, you better back out fast. I served in Akwa Ibom and I can confidently tell you there is no larger gathering of millipedes anywhere in Nigeria than in that state. Good thing they don't scare me. I would have redeployed fast! Again, hanging leg no go help you O. They are everywhere. In our corpers lodge, they were on the walls, floors, ceilings. I even found one slowly climbing my bed once. |
Sijo01:Ha! I am extremely afraid of turkeys O. There was a hostel back in school that had about six or seven of the measly things roaming free. I stopped visiting my friend who was living there. Even now I am still afraid of tolotolo and hens with chicks. I understand how the OP feels perfectly! Meanwhile, one word of advice for you. Since you are afraid of millipedes, please do not ever dare visit Akwa Ibom state. |
Rapmoney:During my service year, I tried in vain to explain to a fellow corps member that what he was buying and eating was in fact a large rat and not a rabbit. I later found out a lot of people do not know the difference between a bush rat and a rabbit. |
2undexy:When GEJ was president, it was alright to bash a president, and now it isn't? Nigerians give new meaning to the phrase 'double standard'. |
@OP, I really don't understand why you went into that long explanation about how people are hungry and plan to attend weddings for weeks because of the food. It adds nothing to your main story and sounds rather hoity-toity. |

I sometimes wonder how this creature could be the servant of a snake
