Leave the grammar and look at the story. Kid is spot on with his story. It shows he understands the saying "cut your coat according to your cloth". I believe the kid also composed the story. This shows creativity. I will score that kid nothing less than 65%.

Then I really hope you are not a teacher. A composition in addition to testing your comprehension of the subject matter, also seeks to test your knowledge of English (incuding use of grammar and construction).

A senior secondary student should be able to do a LOT better. I have seen better written grammar by pry 2 pupils.

Mediocrity should neither be celebrated nor encouraged. And this is not to say that I am encouraging anybody to ridicule school children, but what is obtainable there falls far below expectation and points to a fundamental error that needs to be addressed.

I served in the same Akwa Ibom and taught in a secondary school in the itam area during that period and I can attest to the very poor standard of education there. I saw more shocking things than what the original poster posted.

I had to have evacuations after I miscarried twice in 2013 and its the same procedure. It is painful and traumatic. I always wonder how someone can willingly go through it once, let alone multiple times. I cried all through. Not a nice memory at all.

Regarding the part about missing your bus: in Dec, I dreamt three consecutive times that I would always get up and leave just before it was my turn to get something, only to return and be told it was too late. I prayed about it and the very next night, I dreamt I left as usual but came back just at the nick of time. So, pray. That was the whole essence of having the dream.
