SailorXY: & after "marking hard & winning the ball" what do we do with it? This is not even the primary role of attacking players that's why we need the balance anyway. If Young, Welbeck & Valencia can't offer anything going forward then they must be dropped to the bench. If we consider our attacking guys 'too soft' to win the ball back, then we should throw in Jones with Carrick & Fellaini in the middle and play 4-3-3 #simple as! @ least when the ball is retrieved, there are guys upfront who knows what to do with the ball in the final third. Valencia should be the second choice Right back as far as I'm concerned. Nani & Kagawa made more goal attempts yesternight than Young & Valencia has managed all season. Is it any wonder we haven't scored from open play since the 4-2 win against Swansea They lose d ball at same rate they win it, so wetin come be d issue? |

coogar: i'm sure we scored 4 goals from open play against leverkusen. rafael is the most important player in that defence. i'm very glad he's back. rafael makes valencia look 6 times better than his ability can muster. The movt. Rafa made yesterday b4 being pulled down by Henderson hasnt been made by Young througout this season. N he is called an attacker. |

BinghiNya: Everyone is on welbeck and valencia, imo they offer a lot just that when results don't go ur way we centre on them. Before rvp was bought these guys were playing well. Nani you guys are clamouring for offers no support for united when we are on the backfoot though he has shows some occasional flashes. What we need is to mark hard, we are too soft in winning back the ball. Rooney has shown he is the most important player in united's rank. Why is zaha not getting play time, they should allow him start on saturday so as not to dampen his spirit. Rafael is back, I prefer rafael and valencia together on the right, kagaWa should be shifted to the centre cos he has that eye for deadly passes. In moyes we trust. Where are the moyes and rooney haters. N play Rooney where? Cos d@ has been d problem. Valencia hasnt done half of wat Nani did in United. The fact is d@ his predictability has caught up with him n he can't learn a new dancing step now. |

Kagawa's best position is CAM. He looked more lethal whenever he moved to CAM yestaday. Unless he should be given free role from the flank.
He is isolated on the flank. He needs where he'll be giving n receiving passes. |

Screwface: Gentle men. We do have a problem. A serious one. And I can assure you, we do have a long season ahead. Hear David Moyes again, and deduct what you can from his utterances.
Manchester United manager David Moyes has warned he may have to take more blows this season following his side's 4-1 derby defeat to Manchester City. The Premier League champions have secured seven points from five games, which is the club's worst start to a campaign in nine years. United will be looking to bounce back from their loss at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday with a victory in the Capital One Cup against Liverpool on Wednesday, but the 50-year-old admits his side's form may not improve straight away. "Not for a minute did I think this Manchester United job was going to be an easy job," Moyes said. "There will be days like we had on Sunday, and there might be more of them because we're in a period where there will be transition. "There's a new manager for the players, and in turn there will be new players as well at different times, so obviously that will happen. "It does mean I may have to take a few more blows, definitely. Maybe even more than that - maybe all season I'll have to take a few blows - but I knew this was going to be the case because I was taking over from a great manager and it was always going to take time for me to get my own ways and change things round a little bit. "It doesn't mean big jobs but there will be some things. I think a lot of people thought Manchester United [won the title] last season but it was probably the form of other teams that was poor." Following criticism over the club's lack of transfer activity in the summer, Moyes insists he has adequate squad depth for the season but admits United now need to sign players who will make an immediate impact at Old Trafford. "I don't think it's actually the squad. I think we've got numbers," the United boss said. "I think maybe where we've got work to do is bring players in, not for the squad, but to go right into the team, so that's the slightly different equation. "It's not necessarily squad players we needed. We needed one or two who might have just gone straight into the team. But that will happen. "Going back to that transfer window, we always said it was going to be a tough one and it was going to take a little bit more time." Good he sees lots of average players we've. |

StarBoard: coogar, Fellaini left Toure on the 6 yard line to attempt a headed clearance that Vidic was going for. He eventually missed, giving Toure a free stab at goal. Had he stayed put, even if the ball fell to Toure he wouldn't have had a simple tap-in like he did. That is where he is culpable.
A little or so out of his depth? Moyes is so not in tune with his new position. Even a bat in daylight can see as much. His cluelessness has been shown in: -his behavior during the transfer window -his game against Chelsea(was contented wit a point) -his game against City(cant undastand y our 2 subs wasnt used) -his statements after d City game The man lacks the wining spirit to lead a team of United calibre. |

coogar: this is must be a big joke....
i am satisfied with fellaini - we lost to city because we allowed many crosses in from the flanks. valencia rarely protected smalling, young protected evra and zabaleta who's one of city's disguised weapon was subdued. had we plugged city's route on valencia's side, we would have fared way better on the day.
which of the goals can you really blame fellaini for? 2nd n 3rd goals. D guy is not wat we need simple! VP likely to miss 2nite's match. |

elampiro: He did well against Leverkusen. Borrowing Coogar's word, he acted as the hatchet man. He lept higher to win several aerial dues, he tackled toughly and was more mobile in frustrating moves. In that way, Carrick was able to command and dictate the mifield. Carrick was cleaning up and changing the direction of the ball in our favour.
But against City, Fellaini wanted to play like Carrick and he failed. He however made some impact when he was moved to the apex of a three man midfield.
But let's not be too quick to judge our players. Fellaini was not in our preseason and it can be tough sometimes to settle in. Let Moyes try him wit Carrick 2day again n let's see another pummellin in d midfield. |

Purist: lol, no one questioned this pairing when they battered Leverkusen. Suddenly, the coach is inept for using the same midfield pairing that had been thoroughly impressive only a few days back. Fellaini was average against Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen is not even a yard stick to start with. |

coded guy: Fellaini still looks outta place in our midfield. He makes carrick look like usain Bolt when running. Or is the wig slowing him down? D@ guy runs in slow motion. But how can a coach pair Carrick n Fellaini? |

elampiro: The fear factor will return when we put Rooney and RVP together in the face of defenders. Should Kagawa and Nani hit form, then even the big teams will be scared by the time the reverse fixtures resume. The defence will be less under pressure in the next few games such that Moyes should have gotten more options in Evans, Rafael, Jones and Smalling for the right and central back before the next tough fixtures.
With time Moyes will get the right balance. Moyes was the only EPL manager beating City home and away easily.
The tough fixtures didn't allow Moyes to play Kagawa, Nani, Chicharito, Zaha and Janujaz. The man just stuck with the guys he felt made a good start to the season.
One major good thing, the fixture exposed Giggs. Moyes doesn't have time for eye service. That's my only kudos i've for him; the sideline of Giggs! |

coogar: he's done extremely well if you look at the circumstances...... moyes can only start 11 players out of the 25 we have in the squad. there's always going to be a feeling of who & who should have started if the results don't go our way. the team that started yesterday was very good but the attack messed things up. this is our biggest loss since van persie joined man utd. it simply shows you can never trust wayne rooney to lead the line. Rooney was not d reason we conceded 4. Or should he take d defensive responsibilities of our mid n defence? D problem is still glaring. No play-maker n good DM. D play-maker we've is warming our bench. |
