Chief the NASS is just a very tiny tip of the corruption iceberg that we have in Nigeria. Even if you scrap the budget of NASS (which the president has no power to do anyway) it still won't solve Nigeria's financial problems. I read somewhere that what Nigeria currently makes from crude oil is not even up to the Pennsylvania budget for a year. So when we say we have a revenue problem is not just some empty government sloganeering. The amount of money that will cater to Nigeria's infrastructure deficit I'm not sure we even make 5% of it hence borrowing. Yes reducing corruption and plugging loopholes are welcome but we have things that need to be fixed now now which requires huge amounts of money. izzou: How does Obi hope to cut the excesses of the NASS?
If you answer me realistically, i will vote Obi because of you. |

There might be risks but State police or a more empowered regional police setup is the way to go. Something along the lines of the civilian JTF in Borno could be useful in most State's were funds to train and equip a formal security force is lacking. In the short term as much as it pains us a form of amnesty should be considered to remove most of the trouble makers who got into terrorism/insurgency because of economic reasons. Hopefully this will reduce the number of insurgents to a few stubborn ones that can be contained and handled. Government at the centre also needs to give the states more freedom to buy adequate weapons to equip their various security groups. The blunt truth however is if whoever becomes president doesn't urgently fix the economy so more people can be employed and financially bouyant enough to take care of their families the numbers of disgruntled and frustrated people would overwhelm whatever security arrangement no matter how novel. izzou: The government found a way to reduce the gap in the teaching force, by telling corpers to go there. It may not be the best option, but it has some form of effectiveness. It is absolutely better than nothing.
A corper has a tertiary form of education, so it is assumed that he can handle the primary and secondary. Yes he may not be qualified, but the necessary knowledge can be transferred. The government didn't train you in the uni, but they can use your service in one year for some stipends.
You can't compare it with insecurity. Nobody was trained to kill in the uni or poly. So the government would have to spend resources training a corper to handle armour (and he will leave in one year oh). Isn't it better to use that same resource to training someone for life? |

Wasted golden generation. The coach hasn't helped matters though. Martinez is an average tactician. Danielnino00: This Belgium team might just end up being one of the most overrated golden generation of the decade... De Bryune was right .they are getting old... Congratulations to Morocco... I've often said that they have one of the best team on the continent..They just have a knack of not living up to expectations... Perhaps this is their chance to change it... |

Morocco was a bit unlucky at the last world cup in 2018 just unfortunate to be in a tough group. This present Atlas Lions remind me of Cameroon in 1990, Nigeria 1994 and Ghana 2006 teams that play with confidence and bravery. TheSuperNerd: Why do you think among the African teams since the Afcon and even before the Afcon, I always was vocal about my love and support for the Atlas Lions of Morocco. I saw something. Even back in 2018 at the WC, I saw what folks are witnessing today.
Morocco, Brazil, Netherlands and Nigeria will always be my top favorite international teams. And among these 4, it is Nigeria that needs to get things right tactically and technically on the pitch and in selections. |

Dominant victory nothing lucky or flukish about it. |

Guy remove bants and excuses PMB F-up badly with security. Yes the situation in the NE is better but everything else has worsened banditry, kidnapping, oil bunkering you name it. The fact that this was what we criticized GEJ for makes it even worse. OasisX:

.... even Almighty America can't guarantee 100% Security of Lives and Properties. I've said it here before, we do not have numbers yet, and we are still not there yet in terms of armory.

........................................................................................ Am I safe being in public?' For many, mass shootings make a sense of danger inescapable.
Mass shootings in big cities and small towns across the country have risen in the wake of the 2020 pandemic lockdowns. And amidst the grief and shock and loss, each one prompts more businesses, schools, hotels or nightclubs to toughen their own security responses.
And that, experts say, contributes to a simmering anxiety for potentially millions of Americans. While death in a mass shooting remains rare, public reminders of them are omnipresent. News about them is frequent. And the next one appears impossible to predict.

Ghana is a footballing daddy to Nigeria any day and at any time hence they are in they big boys leagues after ousting you out at your backyard after all they wotowoto war cries that flooded here earlier in they Year. It's open season just take it like that. Then when the team turns the corner you'll here stuff like ''it was because of criticism like mine that they go better'' ''I was only condemning the mediocrity then' ati be be lo. Mujtahida: Na their time. Let them clap and dance. There's a difference between criticizing your national team when they don't play well and outrightly rejoicing because of a down turn in the fortunes of the team. |
