The Dream was an amazing player carried the houston rockets on his back but he had decent support back then. For Giannis however dude is just a freak of nature absolutely gifted and dominant in all aspects of the game and has been almost single handedly carrying the Timberwolves. Hakeem was a defensive stalwart but Giannis is just an all round baller. Danielnino00: Talking about Giannis, do you think he can displace Hakeem Olajuwon as the greatest player of Nigerian origin to play in the NBA??

My post wasn't exonerating PMB he has definitely added to the problem by not finding creative ways to fund universities like he did with infrastructure. That's the thing has ASUU said ok this is where government is currently wasting money divert this so so amount to fund universities since they are learned people who have all this figures at their finger tips. Government (Federal and State) funding universities as it currently stands is unsustainable. Quality education costs serious money which we don't currently have in abundance to fund education to the quality we all want. Even if dedicate Nigeria's entire budget to education it still won't be enough even though it will be a start. The circumstances that made government establish and fund universities in the 1960s and 1970s have changed. Whoever becomes president between Obi, Atiku and Tinubu has to take a serious decision regarding how universities will be funded. BlueRayDick: When I point at FG, I'm pointing at the successive governments in Nigeria over the years and not just Buhari led FG. If u feel Buhari's government should be excluded from the list of villain's then I don't know what to tell u. It's on record how Buhari and his team campaigned that ASUU strike will be a thing of the past and that even university students will be give student loans(Keyamo was recently shown that particular video of Tinubu promising student loans in 2014 and all he could do was stammer on Channels TV) . So if we are knocking them like we knocked Obasanjo, Jonathan, Abacha and other governments for ASUU strike under their administration, we are only holding them to their promises.
As regards ur point about ASUU strike being a reoccurring issue since the 80's, it is a common knowledge that ASUU has gone on strike for different reasons in the past. ASUU members are learned people who have access to data and can analyze data. They have a fair idea of how much the country makes in revenue, they have fair idea of how much the government waste on frivolous things, how much the government spends on white elephant projects and even how much government officials have embezzled in the past. If FG can afford to continually have people embezzle money, misappropriate funds and nothing serious is being done; I don't think it's out of place for those in the education sector to hold the government by the jugular to fund their sector as well.
As regards the universities being autonomous, we all know that's not going to happen soon even though that's the final solution. Nigeria is a country where everything runs on subsidy. Removing subsidy on tertiary education will be like removing oil subsidy; it will be greeted with great resistance. Except the government decides to put in place measures like student loans to cushion the effect , the people will surely move against whatever government decides to carry on with it. |

It's easy to point to FG as the main villain when it comes to this ASUU issue but think about this the lecturers' union has been on strike at different periods since the 1980s when the economy began to stagnate. What that tells me is that whether you like it or government can't fund universities to the level of basic unis all over the world. Universities should be fully autonomous and be able to charge realistic fees so they have enough money to hire quality lecturers, pay salaries and generally run the university. Government should only focus on developing a special loan scheme to assist students who can't afford the fees. BlueRayDick: All the nonsense confrontational stand of the FG vs ASUU will oy do more harm.to the Nigerian student than the lecturers themselves.
If the people leading the FG negotiation team were reasonable, they would've reasoned that for a group of government worker to not been paid 8months' salary ; pissing them up with half salary for the month they resumed is not the way to go. The funny thing is ASUU only called off the strike obeying court order which does not forbid them from resuming the strike anytime soon.
The problem with most people knocking ASUU for the strike is that they were victims of ASUU strike in the past and they think ASUU is the bad guy instead of the government that has refused to fund the education sector. You see people making excuses for successive governments as to why the government can't fund education sector like ASUU demands, but it's the same set of people that complain of today's graduates not being employable, how some corpers can't even write a formal letter, etc.
These people knocking ASUU won't talk about federal government budgeting billions for defence, yet we have a country riddled with insecurity.
Anyways, wetin concern me? I don't have any horse in the race, however it ends " We must learn a lesson"! |

Agreed Emenike picked his moment to shine pity he didn't last long but Osimhen still has time God willing to eclipse him Again if I should go along with your train of thought I would rank Sunday Mba over Iwobi because he delivered in clutch moments that won us the AFCON. BannedLarge: Osimehn has scored more than Emenike (Quantity wise) Quality wise, Emenike still holds that edge in reference to super eagles. He contributed immensely towards winning an ANC, qualified us for the World Cup and even had 2 assist at the World Cup… he earned the right to disapear |

Allow them chief it's their coping mechanism. When Victor joins the EPL next season they will come up with more topics to cry about during their Osimhen haters anonymous weekly meetings. TheGoodJoe: Erling Haaland touched the ball only 8 times in the Community Shield game against Liverpool. From your perspective, Haaland is not world class. |

Before it was 'he doesn't score against big teams' now it's 'no shot on target in 90 minutes' later it will be why is his celebration so razz. Curtisaxel10: I repeat. There is NO good reason why a world class striker should feature for virtually the entirety of a game at such level and not get even a LONE shot on target, talk more of a goal. Just falling and rolling.
It's bad form. Plain and simple. And no player patronage chaser can shut me up. |

Very funny man. It's obvious that last weekend display by Osimhen really hurt some people to their bone marrow cos the way they have just jumped out of the woodwork since Tuesday ehn TheGoodJoe: Honestly, did you just post this? One of the most shallow analysis I have ever read online and it is not a dig on you. Even a baby football analyst knows you can not judge a player with one game.
Haaland failed to score against Liverpool in his first game. Analyst with your kind of orientation will say what works in Bundesliga won't work in the EPL. |

lol is this it? Same Osimhen that has scored against 2 other top EPL teams in Chelsea and Leicester City outclassed by premier league opposition? Please drink some water and rest sir CAPalot. komekn: Since the Liverpool Vs Napoli match there has been be a deafening silence that is bewildering and quite surprising. But then again considering the unbridled favouritism our V.O. gets here it should be expected.
Nonetheless, this was supposed to be the game our world class striker, Monster striker V.O. announced himself to the world as well as to potential EPL suitors.
But it didn't happen, he failed the test .
Instead there has been an outpouring of emotive sentiment based rhetoric. Some being by those best described as TheSuperDelusional as they are suggesting he was continuously fouled and unfairly treated.
Admittance of failure is the beginning of success it's the basis of constructive criticism. You are then able to address gaps in your skill sets and strategy and improve.
But instead many are blaming the weather, unfair referees, the bright red Liverpool strip, etc.
The EPL is the most competitive, fastest and physically exerting football league in the world. What works in Seria A may not necessarily work in the EPL.
V.O. is no longer an unknown quantity, he is not unknown he is one of the main focal points for Napoli attack. Liverpool would have gone through hours of footage of Osimhen and studied him in depth. His strengths and weaknesses.
In addition Liverpool FC have been having a torrid time in the EPL this season, they are off the mark standing 9th in the league table with even Fulham above them. They needed this win and would be like a wounded Lion . They return of Konate absolutely vital to them as well.
In summary V.O. got out muscled , out paced and got bodied all over the pitch, he couldn't get one shot off on target. Konate had him locked down and Vsmndykr put pad lock on the gate. Actually he actually did most of the fouls on Konate and resorted to desperate measures including simulation.
This would be a good learning experience if taken in the right context critically, for V.O. to up his game As opposed to what most are saying here. |

Exactly plus all those fictitious daily petrol consumption figures they use to justify huge subsidy payments will disappear. GeneralDae: Naira would improve if we increase our oil production to the extent whereby we can meet our Quota and also supply Dangote to refine and export. What sucks up the dollars most is subsidy/importation of PMS. That's our biggest import if you look at the records. |

A good chunk of FX goes towards importing petrol and other crude by-products. Dangote refinery should help curb that meaning more FX will be available for other uses. As much as fuel subsidy will have to go sometime next year every politician whether in government or opposition needs to be blunt and upfront about the implications of its removal. That communication needs to be clear that this is a bitter but inevitable pill that has to be swallowed. Govt too needs to show they are making sacrifices to motivate and encourage the citizens to give them time in the short term until things start to improve. obaaderemi: How will the naira improve when demand for dollars and borrowing keep growing? |

Watching him lately I also think he would be a perfect fit. The few strikers that have excelled in Chelsea like Drogba and Costa had that physicality and extra ginger which Osimhen already has. By the looks of it his finishing is getting even better. He would be a wise investment. Pray he stays fit and injury free. PDPGuy: Osimhen to Chelsea please! |
