Forgot to add Moses Simon. All told that is enough experience to have especially in defence. safarigirl: Ighalo Musa Balogun Uzoho (didn't play, but was on the bench) Etebo Iheanacho Ekong Omeruo Shehu Aina (not sure of this guy)
I think that's everyone I remember that played when we qualified from that group and are in this squad, anyone else? |

I kinda have my suspicions that our bredas will pull such stunts. I hope the FA and technical crew have prepared for any eventualities whether on or off field. What happened against SA should definitely make us extra cautious. semid4lyfe: Punch is reporting that Ghana plans to destabilize our team with off-field tactics especially Covid-19.
According to the report they plan to reject the Covid-19 certificates of some of our key players, insist on running their own tests which will return positive results and rule out the players.
Question:
How possible is this? I thought CAF has an independent healthcare company from Europe conducting the covid tests because of this kind of shenanigans from host countries? |

You're in the spirit bro. Very pragmatic game that ensures we don't concede. I'm optimistic that between Osimhen, Simon, Dennis, Aribo and Ighalo we should be able to create enough chances. Hopefully our forwards can be clinical because missing chances against a team like Ghana especially at home can come to bite you on the bum. Joezinho: Lol. I pray we completely stifle Ghana in that midfield cause that is where they will seek dominate play especially with tricky players like Kofi-Kyereh, Kudus and Partey...
Onyeka and Etebo will more than match them physically and run them off the middle of the park thus forcing Ghana to play out wide, we already have the attack to punish any slight mistake Ghana makes... Let's just play a tight, simple and pragmatic game to make sure we leave Kumasi with no goal scored on us.. |

Again I reiterate you have a choice not to follow their behavior. You have a right to be disgusted by their behavior but in a democracy you may not like people's choices but you have to let them leave with it. You also have a preference but even if I don't like it I have no right to attack you for it. That's my point. At the end of the day we are all adults no one but ourselves will bear the consequences of the decisions we make in life no matter the influence we think people have over other people's lives. dkay51: If you truly believe that they shouldn't have any influence on other people when then do you think there's need to mobilise and campaign for your own choice?
The truth is they do have an influence it was disgusting to watch what they did with that influence. |

They are athletes not politicians. Because they are popular doesn't mean everything they say or do is right. No one should complain that someone influenced you to vote for anyone because we're are all grown ass adults who should be mature enough to make your decisions. If they influence you as an individual to vote for anyone then too bad for you because you had a choice to refuse. Instead of bellyaching on some people's political choices I'll rather use that energy to mobilize and campaign for my own choice to win. In 2015 a section of nollywood endorsed GEJ he still lost. Some footballers backed Abacha's attempt to be president we all know what happened in the end. People will do what they will do. On your part campaign hard for your choice. safarigirl: The same set of people that went to do solidarity visit for Yahaya Bello are the ones doing solidarity visit for Tinubu today, by next week they will be doing photo ops with another Presidential hopeful
Please, we will not refer to sycophancy as "political choices", we will refer to it as sycophancy and we have the same rights to call them out for it.
And these people are an influential set of people, it is wrong to assume their endorsements have no impact. Incredibly wrong
Let us hold people accountable for their actions in nation-building, especially people who are influential. This is not a random Emeka or Dotun, these are influential members of society.
If we want to call them out, we reserve that right. If you want to ignore them, you also reserve the right. |

Chief I'm not Tinubu's biggest fan but we shouldn't abuse or knock people for making political choices. They have a right whether driven by greed or altruism to campaign or endorse who they want to endorse. Their personal choice won't have effect on who you will eventually end up voting for or vis-ver-sa. andrewbaba44: Our legends their Mates are coaching top club in Europe ,even if na top African job make dem get ,well not every ex player should be a coach sha
Why can’t they be inspired by George weah Samuel eto or Didier drogba ?

It's not Assumption UEFA ranks Porto way ahead of Fulham. If you disagree take it up with them. English football has always been known as money miss roads that throw huge contracts at any below average talent that comes their way. Porto consistently plays at the pinancle of club competition which is the Champions League so why would Zaidu be bothered about Fulham? Chief you doth cap a lot. I'm sure Koulibaly earns way less than Maguire but even a blind man high on kaikai would never say Harry is the better defender because he earns more. I guess based on your logic Kepa is better than Mendy since he earns way more. Subzero honestly you will have many contenders this year for the Gaffe of the year awards. SMH komekn: First of all you are too rigid in your perceptions which are not knowledge based but emotive preference.
You assume that Porto is a bigger and Superior club than Fulham. And therefore condescending to say Zaidu will not get into Fulham.
That's why a gave an appraisal of the current left back in comparison to Zaidu. Getting a move from the Championship to the top three league in Europe is quite common. That in itself gives you an Idea of the quality.
Teremi, Evanilson Martinez and Vierra are Porto forward players they are not as good as Fulham's this is very plane to see. None of them can leave the boots of Mitrovich.
What you must understand it's quite common for players to leave first tier league to play in the second tier Championship.
At the end of the day players will mostly choose money over assumed prestige of the league.
If you look at the wages Porto plays it's players it can compete with Fulham. Imagine the highest paid player is a near retired Pepe from Real Madrid.
Let's get back to the main subject which was would Zaidu get into the Fulham team and the answer is no. He is not good enough apart from being technically poor.
Zaidu would probably jump at the chance to play for Fulham. Finally ,Money £££$$$$€€€ "TALKS" and football players WALK.
Antonee "Jedi" earns 10 times more than what Zaidu earns each week .
By the way Tosin Adarabioyo is better than Maguire. |

Please this is a very pedestrian criteria. It will be like saying Nigeria is higher than Canada in the FIFA ranking therefore Zaidu is better than Alphonso Davies. Zaidu is not a world class LB but disrespecting someone who features consistently for his club in European competition is not it. Even Maguire who has been consistently dropping clangers lately won't be so disrespected to the extent of saying players in Fulham are better than him. komekn: Actually he will not , The current left back is Antonee Robinson, in 2020 a £10 million transfer to AC Milan failed to Materialize on account of irregular heart rhythm on his medical. When he played for Wigan athletic in the Championship.
He is a USA international with 22+ caps, as you know USA is ranked 13 and Nigeria 32 by FIFA. In my opinion he is considerably better than Zaidu.
It's on that basis I say he is not good enough to get into the Fulham team. |

Spot on submission although Osimhen has by far been our best and most influential player over the past 2-3 years. Based on what I saw at the AFCON Moses Simon could also join the fray. Iheanacho is also a game changer but his consistency leaves a lot to be desired. 13large: Although, I don’t want to dismiss onuachu goals at his club but even the most harsh critic will admit that Osimehn looks slightly above everyone on the super eagles shirt. Right now, the players that perform at a higher level than, their peers are
Osimehn ……..
Ndidi……..
Zaidu………
These 3 are above average or close to world class in my opinion. Although, dennis has been super eagles overall best player this season, I haven’t seen his performance for NIG |

Dessers from his club record looks a decent player, but their are so many players ahead of him in the pecking order performing well in top 5 leagues. Between Osimhen, Ighalo, Iheanacho, Onuachu, Awoniyi and Sadiq who will you drop him for? Okereke and Moffi are also in the wings if they pick up their form so it will be a tall order for Dessers to make the squad but hey nothing is impossible. Mendy a few years ago was almost quitting football but look at him now today's world best goalkeeper. andrewbaba44: Agreed with what you said about lukaku
But I won’t judge dessers by his first game sha |

Great for Awoniyi. I pray he continues to get better but using him to take shots at Osimhen is laughable. Osimhen has scored double digits goals four seasons running in different countries. 3 of those seasons in 2 top 5 leagues no current SE striker has done that since 2019. Awoniyi is having a great breakout season but let's easy on the comparisons. Windscribe: African players with more than 10 league goals in Europe top 5 leagues this season.
Mo Salah 20
Sadio Mane 12
Taiwo Awoniyi 11
Mohammed Bayo 10
Riyad Mahrez 10 |
