I wanted to use the range in my heart to insult your mother who was a prostitute before your father who was a thief accidentally impregnated her. But I changed my mind and forgive you. There is no need insulting a bastard son of a thief and prostitute.. His life is already an insult to decent sons and daughters of prostitutes world wide. So I won't insult you but advice you like a kid that you are.

Don't ever insult me here again. Else you'll know that times have changed, and people can be traced anywhere.

Aina is a good player who knows he could be world class tomorrow but the brutal honest truth is that he wouldn't be called ahead of the current England fullbacks.

Check yourself. Aina will definitely get a call from England. That’s my point.

Chief my attitude is as much as possible gather the best players possible to rep the GWG be they homegrown or foreign born.

The grassroots is the foundation of our football so rightly and logical it should get the necessary attention of football authorities when scouting for potential replacements for the current generation of SE players in the future. However we shouldn't be shortsighted that we live in a global village containing a vibrant diaspora we should never be apologetic to tap from. If we are happy to receive remittances from Nigerians based abroad why do we know turn up our noses at those who sincerely and genuinely want to rep the national colors? All we should be insisting on is that their should be a level playing field where the best of the best will be always selected not based on sentiments of where you are born.

Regarding Olise if he ends up representing Nigeria all the best to him but all this gloom and doom, and low self-esteem are not necessary. Frankly speaking if you doubt the ability of the current SEs to perform then I would question your presence on this thread because why would I spend my every waking hour to comment on a team I don't rate and say you're shxt?

Osimhen is a damn handful. As a former defender, you are forced to make fouls like that when facing dudes like that.

Happy Awoniyi gets a call up just reward for a humble hard working lad. The competition in the striker position is so fierce thank God no more relying on just some players who phone in performances at club level. You must struggle to earn your place.

Thank you Doc! Always on hand to provide unbiased analysis

TheSuperNerd:
Not trying to defend Musa's continuous call to the NT which is obviously to ensure he bags beyond 101 caps and set a new NT caps record but I only want to correct the fallacy below.

Ahmed Musa has started 6 league games for Fatih Karagümrük before today. Today, he is in action again from the start (7 starts in 7 league games) and have already bagged an assist with his side up 3-0 after 40mins+.

Musa is no bench warmer in Turkey and Fatih is not the worst side in Turkey.

With those said and corrected, yes, I understand we have better players than Musa going forward but as he is Captain, it is always gonna be hard sidelining him. The politics of the Glasshouse are in his favor. An almost every Skipper of the Super Eagles have been given special treatment in one or more forms from Keshi to Oliseh to Okocha, to Kanu, to Yobo, to Mikel and now to Musa.

But note this, Musa averages 86mins per game in Turkey. He is no benchwarmer.

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 4:29pm On Oct 01, 2021
You make a fair point but the fact of the matter is the Yobo of 2014 was already undergoing diminishing returns just like Musa is right now but we still included them for their experience and standing in the team.

If Musa eventually gets his 100 caps I will still salute him because he has been a great servant to Nigerian football. Will I completely say he has nothing left in the tank? Who knows but remember pre-2018 WC Musa was on an awful run of form guy was even playing in the reserves of Leicester City but he turned out being our best player at the world cup in russia.

By current form Musa shouldn't be in the squad but we all know inclusion in national team squads all over the world is not always as straight forward as that.

cc12:
In Yobo's case Nigeria had a dearth of defenders playing at the elite level while in Musa's case Nigeria has a least 6 wingers playing at the elite level in better form than Musa.

Also, you can't compare Yobo's form at that time, he wasn't clubless at point like Musa and he wasn't inactive and match rusty for over 3 months.

The reason why federalism hasn't yet worked out in Nigeria is because it has not been implemented properly not so much the system itself.

Most of the states leadership are too lazy, incompetent or both to come up with policies to kick start their individual state economies they are content to share from the national revenues rather than finding ways to boost their economies.

Lagos for example is how a state should operate in a federation. The lagos state government is able to execute most of its infrastructure projects because of the level of revenue they are able to generate from taxes.

A few states have unique advantages in terms of amount of arable land and resources deep within their earth but most are just content to go cap in hand to receive handouts from the federal government. Take for example the state governments under our present constitution are solely responsible for primary education and health care and secondary level too for the most part but if they don't pull their weight the consequences are poor education numbers which reflect on the federal government.

That's not to say that the present federal government has done so fantastically well but there is only so much the centre can do if the sub units are not pulling there weight.

vaxx:
Ghana is too small for such. Federalism is too expensive to run , one of the reasons Nigeria is home to lot of poor people . So much money go to governance instead of the people .

Why must you lie to push agenda how is Fatih that is currently 9th in the Turkish league the worst team in Turkey?

Mikel was also clubless when he was first called up to the SE so it's not a new thing that started today.

As for Eqwuekwe well it was Keshi not me that took him to confederations cup in 2013 and dropped his national team captain without blinking an eye.

ChrisKels:
Same Turkey really? For a club that just got promoted? While Yobo was a starter for the then best club in Turkey, do you know Musa is a bench warmer for the worst club in Turkey?

Lol Musa that was getting call ups even when he was club less and a non playing Kano pillar?

So, you would take Egwuekwe ahead of the then Yobo who was in champions league with Fenerbahce?

Sorry man, I'm done with you on this.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 2:34pm On Oct 01, 2021
Musa plays in the same Turkey Yobo was at the time. About Yobo being better than those on the bench then why didn't Keshi recall him until few months to the WC? If he was at least good for the bench he would have involved Yobo for the crucial business end of the WC qualifiers.

ChrisKels:
Were those on the bench as good as Yobo or was any of them doing better than Yobo at the club level? During Yobo's time, we didn't have capable hands and he was also still playing at the apex with Fenerbahce and Norwich in the EPL, hence, his was justifiable. Tell me where Musa plays, and tell me if Musa is as good as any of our present bench materials in his position
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 2:17pm On Oct 01, 2021
Was Yobo's own "earned"?

Going into the 2014 WC was Yobo our best defender? Remember at the time Omeruo and Oboabona were our defensive pairing. Keshi even dropped Joseph from the squad for some time until the WC came around so will you say Yobo fraudulently earned his 100 caps?

ChrisKels:
The point is simple, Musa was immense for the eagles in his best days, but as long as being a centurion is concerned, he got his through the backdoor unlike the likes of Enyama and Yobo, hence I will celebrate him for every other thing but being a centurion. He didn't earn, it was rather given to him, politically
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 2:06pm On Oct 01, 2021
Well you said he doesn't deserved to be celebrated like other centurions like Yobo and Enyeama without any firm points to back your assertion.

Yes we can say we don't like how Musa is getting his recent caps but how is it any different from Yobo who you compared him to?

It's your right to dislike Musa but you can't drop "hot takes" and not expect it to be challenged and drop a feeble excuse of itching fingers.

It's because you are Chris as well that I am also trying to understand your point.

ChrisKels:
Some times you lot quote others' posts not because you have got a different thing to say, but because you have got itchy fingers. So, after all the unfounded allegations of me showing disrespect to the player, you still reechoed my points on the last paragraph? You dey lucky say your name na Chris, if not ehh...
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 1:26pm On Oct 01, 2021
Well you are entitled to your opinion on Musa. Whatever the shenanigans of the NFF using all means by hook or crook to earn 100 caps I disagree that Musa is an undeserving of the milestone.

We can't just dismiss his performances at the World Cup as a mere footnote. If other players did what he did in those tournaments we will rightly praise them so why should Musa's own be different because you don't like him.

Musa has also been a constant presence in the team during the good and bad days. He was there when nobody wanted to associate with the team and they were called super chickens.

In output Musa has performed even better than some of our favorites. Is goals or assists Musa's numbers are up there with the best SE of the past and present.

We can criticize his current place in the team and say he has overstayed his welcome (by the way his case won't be the first Greats like Keshi, Kanu and Yobo stayed in the team past their prime) but I won't denigrate his contributions to the national team. No slander to the Governor

ChrisKels:
In the future, I will remember Musa for his 4goals at the world cup, but I will never celebrate him as someone who managed a century of caps for the eagles. Yobo and Enyema got theirs on merit, Musa is getting his fraudulently, hence, in my book, I can never place him in the same league as those previous two. A century of caps must be earned, and every count of it must be merited otherwise it looses its value. The NFF should stop the history of helping players to fraudulently earn a 100 caps to the detriment of the team. Well, this is Nigeria, a failed state.

Really happy with Osimhen's goal scoring exploits this season. In just 7 games he has scored 70% of his goal tally for last season. He is also gradually building himself as the main man for the Neapolitans. Long may it continue.

I don't think Osimhen will be missing so many Serie a matches like that maybe 3 or 4 max Europa would probably resume March. If Nigeria goes all the way to the final we are talking early February so some of these clubs should relax.

Ppogbae:
Consider the following:

Suppose by January 6, Napoli is currently sitting at 1st in Serie A and Osimhen is leading a tight race for goals scored in Serie A. Should he be released for AFCON?

Mind you, Napoli will have 6-7 serie A matches over this period (and this is notwithstanding possible Europa league and Coppa Italia matches).

Thoughts?

List looks generally ok to beat CAR. Seems Rohr doesn't see Sanusi as a long time replacement.

Why Gernot is still allergic to calling up midfielders only he can answer. Also surprised he didn't call up an extra forward.
