Egbon I completely disagree. Omeruo was beaten in the air in the midfield of our own half but we had enough people at the back to have cleared the ball which included Aina who was beaten for pace and strength by the Cameroonian winger. Kog45: Yes Omeruo was at fault, very poor aerial contest as CB and Aina had 50/50 chance to avert the situation. |

How did you come to the conclusion will get wasted in midfield after observing him in the one match where he was our best player? komekn: There is an assumption by quite a few that because you were born in the UK you no get gidigbo and gbeghe for body.
Frank Onyeka is satisfactory but Alhassan will get wasted in midfield. |

Game day.
Praying and cautiously optimistic of a positive result today.
It's going to be a physical battle but I'm hopeful our superior qualities will help us advance.
Need our defense to be extra solid plus our forwards and wingers to come to the party.
LET'S GO SUPER EAGLES! |

Yeah we shouldn't give them the opportunity to park the bus. Marjoribanks: My fear is their aerial prowess (corner kick or free kicks) and spectacular crosses. If we they get a goal first, they might lock up! But if we score first, they will definitely fall apart cos they lack the organization to deal with counter attack. I really want us to win!! |

I'm remember that argument the spin he put on what we all saw with our korokoro eyes would make Trump. Now it's Yusuf is a weakling someone that played one match only and was our best player. Danielnino00: Till today, komekn swears that goal was Omeruo fault.. Omeruo missed the header and Aina got beaten by his marker...but komekn chose to blame Omeruo alone |

My honest assessment of the team is we not yet at the level we have to be to win this tournament but they are not far off.
Goalkeeping position and defense have improved considerably from what the situation was pre-AFCON.
I don't know if Nwabali is the best we could have gotten to man the sticks but his performances have been satisfactory and should be the minimum required of any SE first choice goalie.
Aina and Bassey have brought the quality I thought they were capable of. Ekong's leadership and defensive awareness have rubbed off of who has been slightly more composed.
Midfield is still lacking that cutting edge pray the coach sorts it out soon cos we will be punished if we don't get it would right.
Attack has been heavily reliant on Osimhen who hasn't been at his sharpest. Other players need to step up in their goal scoring responsibilities. Victor can't do it would all on his own. Guys like KC, Moffi, Lookman, Chukwueze, Simon and Iwobi have to pitch in.
All said and done I'm optimistic the team will get better. |

For real I hope we don't jam that ref again with her nonsense calls. daveP: Omeruo didn't stand up well to the ref for those 3 yellow cards. 2 were not justified. No warning just straight. That lady...we need to pray we don't jam her going forward. How none of Bissau players got any card is the more reason i didn't like her officiating. |

My brother you know getting to 'semifinals of WC' automatically translates to winning AFCON naa! Seriously speaking as much as they are favorites it will be interesting seeing how they cope taking the game to their opponents who will now sit back and counter like Morocco did at the last WC. Onyeka was good in our last match but in the long term you won't get the best out him if he plays DM. He's not completely comfortable with the ball at his feet. Mujtahida: I thought it was said that Onyeka cannot play DM but he was a work horse on the day snuffing out attacking threats and shielding the defense. |

Na bro Cameroon just played with determination and gra gra. They lack quality in many areas and it's painfully obvious. Senegal was just slack for some reason. They could easily have hammered them 4-0 the way we did in Uyo that year. This Cameroon team at the AFCON may have the heart but the quality is seriously lacking. Marjoribanks: Cameroon was the better team before Sar's goal from corner kick. That goal unsettled Cameroon and gave Senegal confidence. Onana made no single safe too. The Senegalese goals came against the run of play! And Cameroon should have deservedly equalized just before Senegal 3rd goal. Gambia is a sure 3 point for Cameroon! |

Yeah I expect Kelz to start. We should go back to a 3-man midfield. Aribo to join Iwobi and Onyeka in the midfield if Yusuf is still unavailable. Oasis007:

We must beat GB silly in the last match. Also, we must try out Lookman, Osimhen and Iheanacho combo in the attack.
We need to have multiple goalscorers and creators in the team, with Iheanacho both are guaranteed. |

He will come good. He hasn't been at his goal scoring best but we can see how impactful his contributions have been. Backing him to get his scoring mojo back against GB. yinkeys: I thought world class strikers know where the woodwork is on the pitch without even looking The clear chances he’s got aren’t even on target, can’t even find the woodwork. It’s ridiculous
I will constructively criticize Osimhen He has not been lethal in this tournament Grit & talent has been helping him He’s not as technically sound as Boniface or Moffi
Osimhen scores difficult & impossible goals, aerial balls but fails to bury clear cut chances It’s hard to watch when your top 9 isn’t taking clear chances. He doesn’t really have to do much but find the woodworks
Our boy is ballooning balls and can’t even find targets. He should be hitting target with his eyes closed A decent ground ball against CIV would have gone in Against EQG he hurriedly took that shot and it went way out of target Like was the sun & heat really affecting him
He needs to score clear cut chances because our team can’t keep the ball and string 10 or more passes. It could hunt us in the knockout stages.
Chukwueze is playing a selfish game, holding into the ball for too long. I’m only impressed with Lookman upfront. Maybe the English raised players are more technically sound than Nigerian bred. Can’t wait for technically sound Iheanacho to get on the pitch to teach these guys how it’s done |

Like this lineup except for 2 or 3 personnel. Bassey for Ajayi, Aribo for Onyeka and Chukwueze for KC wouldn't want to rush Senior Man. He along with Moffi and Simon potential jokers if game is tight. Oasis007:
