Hello Gurus in the house.

Please I need guidance on visiting the US for a vacation..

2022 while I was in Nigeria tourists visa for vacation was denied.

Currently, I am in the UK as a skilled worker for a year now, I want to visit the US for a vacation, what and what do I need.

Do I still go on a tourist visit on vacation or conference, if it's conference, then what conferences will relate to my kind of job as a skilled worker for Health Care Assistant/Support worker.
So I don't really know what the US embassy wants.

I don't know if i am not doing the right thing with the DS160 form as expected.

Please your suggestion and opinions will count. Thanks

@OyoTunjiUSA,

Please be calming down, my question is not thrown at a particular set of people, it's to everyone in the house please.

Your opinion you have stated and it's appreciated. Notwithstanding I only expressed myself about the time frame being two long, after all some people didn't wait that time frame and they got it. We are here to help one another and not to make mockery of one

Cheers

Hey 🤠

*** A2A **

1. If your questions is thrown to some set of people on Nairaland pls follow their opinions . I am a member of Nairaland and entitle to make opinions on questions that is thrown to the public. Or did you read in my suggestions that " You Must Follow What i Say ?

2. You are entitled to your leave but you are not entitled to USA visa until you follow procedures and you, having traveled all over the world is not a criterion in determining your USA visa, gone are those days when the USA embassy are tricked with such gimmicks.

3. Since you know that the most important thing is the filling of the DS 160 Form then what are you waiting for ? Go ahead and fill it and go get your visa.

Best Wishes 🙏

Madam,

I’m a dependant on my wife who’s a student and we’ve only being in the UK for 8 months.

Just get all necessary info, it’s not rocket science don’t let anyone put fear in you.

You have a job that you’ll be returning to, that’s very important.

@OyoTunjiUSA,

Thanks for your response.

My profile here it's my job, I the main applicant and my husband dependant. Children in Nigeria schooling not able to come with them and was told by UKVI that they can apply on their own for visiting if they wish because they are not eligible as being above 18yrs. I just clocked 1yr recently. I am entitled to leave from work. So does it mean I have to wait for 3yrs before I can apply for vacation to the US that's strange.
Have had quite a good travel history before I finally came to the UK. I have come on 6months, 2yrs visiting on vacation to the UK before I finally got this job. I have been to Dubai twice on vacation , Ghana vacation all the while i was in Nigeria, and I returned as at when stated.

I still believe that there are some people that has not stayed up to 3yrs and still got the visa.

However, like they said one of the most important thing is the information filled in your DS-160 form.

That's why I am asking for tips and guidance, probably i am not doing it rightly as expected.

Because for all my travels before now has been from the right information gathered from the Nairaland UK visiting Visa justwise, UK Skilled worker, all the suggestions and contributions I gathered when applied paved way for me.

So I am here for guidance, I don't think I have to be 3yrs before I can apply.

The last refusal I got was that I told them am going on a vacation for 14 days, and I will visiting some tourists attractions like the statue of Liberty, etc and few shopping.

Please let the suggestions and contributions come in, as open to learn

Thanks a lot

Hey 🤠

@Christabeliciou.

*** USA embassy in the UK is not soft and neither is she soft in Canada and anywhere in the world . USA embassy in Nigeria has the same mathematical rules and policies with those of UK, China, Cotonou, and others .

**** What worked for Mr A might go against Mr B because your profiles and careers are different. Don't allow sweet mouth to take away your sense of responsibilities and preparations.

1. Take it or leave it. If you just landed in the UK as a skilled worker (not up to at least 3 years ) your visa might be denied again.. ** Unless if your employer in the UK is sending you to the USA on business seminars, conference or short trainings.

2. Even as you are working in the UK, if you do not have any other tie (wife, husband, kids ) other than your job , then your visa success is even dim because lots and lots of professional workers from ExxonMobil, Banks, Toyota, MTN, NNPC etc with top salaries have absconded their jobs to the USA.

3. Check your profile and seek further opinions before you proceed. USA visa is not a piece of cake they share to you all because you are In the UK, Canada , Australia or anywhere. You have to follow and pass their visa policies and rules .

Best Wishes 🙏

Thanks for your response I appreciate.

So I can still apply as going for vacation then. If you don't mind I will appreciate asking questions when I intend to start, at least am happy have seen someone given. Because of a truth back then in Nigeria we have had 3 deniers and that kept me saying probably there's something I am not doing right.

Thanks so much

Letter from your employer

Payslips

Statements

BRP

Itinerary.

The most important thing is the information filled in your DS-160 form.

I was not asked for any of these during my interview only thing she asked was my marriage certificate.

For London, their hand soft I swear.

The minimum requirements from home office is 4 band, and 4 for each of the modules.
So you are good to go if you have this as stated above. Both for employer and visa application.

GorillaApp:

Bros if I know, I no go ask. I am getting conflicting information thats why I'm here. Is it 4.0 minimum for each module or 4.5?

Your honest response is needed pls

Good day gurus,

Dependant did biometrics on 13th march.

30th March Mail was sent for BRP that visa was successful.

But on tracking it's showing still at DMC, yet to get a mail from TLS for collection of passport.

Is there a link or email address one can send to for the delay.

Thanks for your response

As dependant,I have to wait till late march to get TB certificate as I had to do sputum test. Should I go ahead and submit my application with the supposed February 15 deadline in view? Is it possible to choose early April for biometrics knowing that all my documents will be ready then?

My story can only be defined as a miracle. God did.
Job interview was August 2022 I got unsuccessful mail in September but was told I will be kept on reserve for 6 months due to the standard of my application/interview I contacted interviewer and was informed that they are awaiting funding for two more positions and will be willing to offer me one once funding is approved. Waiting game began I even forgot about the post. 30th October I got a mail requesting I call them on the 1st of November I joined the call via teams and was informed that I am being offered a position. Passport wasn't done had to do express passport. COS came a month later December 8 my ecctis application delayed the final visa application because my school won't give me my transcript until a months time.

Documents submitted
COS maintenance was ticked.
TB CERTIFICATE
MAINTENANCE LETTER From sponsor
Passport
Degree result was needed for English proof
Ecctis certificate soft copy

No Police character submitted as my profession wasn't on the list. I was scared because I didn't submit police character report.

Please kindly clarify me, the Partially vaccinated means if you have not completed the dose, let's assume you where vaccinated first and you were given a vaccinated card, and they said you can come back anytime for a second dose, is that it?. And if so you still have to pay for test, and how much please.

But I thought they don't do all these pcr test things again, since UK said no test before coming in weither vaccinated or not. I never knew Nigeria is still request for this test when coming from UK to Nigeria.

Thanks

giselle237:

Oh! Depends on covid vaccination status.
Fully vaccinated- go on ncdc portal and fill in details and upload vaccination document and get QR code. No test. No payment.
Partially or unvaccinated- PCR test + pay for day 2 and day 7 test on ncdc portal to get QR code

But if I have my Bsc certificate and transcript from Nigeria with a letter of consent that I was thought in English do I still need to write the 'IELTS for UKVI'

Thanks

Uzland:

Hello Christabeliciou, I thought your questions had been responded to by someone. If you'd glanced at the first page of the thread, you'd have known that 'IELTS for UKVI' is one of the many options for proof of English language proficiency. You can search for the British Council link on Google. I can't possibly tell your abilities regarding learning, but it should be possible for some people. You can register for it online and take the test at a designated test centre in any country you are, unless it's not available in your current country. Cheers.cheesy

U should speak with an immigration lawyer based in the UK establishing any possible ‘maternal’ rights and tht 19 and 21 year olds can serve as ‘dependent’ children as well as other grey areas.. . it’s same as making other uk visit applications. For the 19 and 21 year olds, they are students, however are classed as adults. Prove that they are dependent on their parents and their ties to their studies if any.. concentrate on showing they are coming back.
You should use a hotel. Sponsor the trip alone.

If one have any agency that will give you the sponsorship when applied and one has his or her university first degree B.sc certificate and transcript, do you think one still needs the IELTS.
Thanks

Perfecttouchade:
IELTS is enough if it's still valid , that will serve as ur proof of English.
