From what I read I didn't see where the 3000 workers were going to be replaced by foreigners. Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't that sound a bit odd, aren't local staff more cheaper than foreigners?

There is a procedure to cutting down on your staff. Airtel simply fired 3,000 employees and told them bye bye, i bet you the Nokia guys getting fired (Being made redundant) where given enough notice and are all recieving a hefty package depending on the number of years they served the company.

This is the very right the NLC have exercised, you don't wake up in the morning and tell 3,000 employees to step, not after you have recorded God knows how much profit over the last financial year. Employees have rights and clearly had a huge hand in the company recording the profits it did.
We seriously need to learn to treat our people like human beings in this country.

The worst thing of all is that the same Airetel i heard went on to employ extremely cheap labour, which proves that the pay was not the problem, they just didn't want to pay as much as they were paying.

@ OP: Be careful in your quest for justice, you might actually get duped again while trying to nail this sucker. In my own opinion i would leave him to God like others have adviced but if you are going to continue hunting him down be extra careful, do not part with money unless you are SUPER sure of what or who you are dealing with. When you tell some Nigerians that they worship their pastors they will start fighting you. This is a classic example, some people follow religion so blindly that they cannot make decisions of their own without consulting the oracle pastor.

There is almost no relationship between some people and God anymore, everything has to go through "My pastor", they forget that although these men might be ordained men of God (and i used that phrase losely cos who knows in this day and age) but they are still human and are prone to the very same things me and you are prone to.

So true but having been on both sides of this palava, i can see where both parties are coming from but i think the government are to blame as they do not help landlord's with any sort of subsidiaries while they are struggling to build their houses.

- Omo onile trouble landlords while they build their houses and the government do JACK
- Prices of cement and other materials are sky rocketing beyond the common man, again the govt don't give a toss
- The cost of building plans, C of O and other legal documents are high talk less of the elongated procedures and bribes you have to go through at the local councils to get these documentation

This is why you here the popular saying "Did the government help me build this house" and to a huge extent the landlord is right, if the government don't help landlord's build their houses where do they now get off telling the landlord how to collect rent. It's almost like the government telling you how much to charge passengers in your taxi after you struggled to buy it with your hard earned money.
