People beg alot because there is hunger in the land with high unemployment rate.

It's going to get worse because USD will hit $700 on or before December this year, government will remove subsidy on petroleum products, diesel will hit N700 to N900 before December this year while petrol will get to around N300 per liter and boom... catastrophy will hit everywhere. People will loose more jobs and alot will become hopeless than now.
I see people protesting against the government and I see things becoming worse for a whole lot.

As for me and my folks, the more Dollar goes up, the richer we become. The more the country elect a clueless leader, the richer we become. Thank God for blessing me with a skill set like forex. Today my family members, inlaws, friends and students have been empowered on the same skill set. Alot are doing well on their own as we speak.

This was the reason I did a DIY building from plan to finish, I wanted to derv into the minds of Suppliers, builders, designers etc, waht I found was this, 2many variable in the building trade and not enough constants' seriously do not know how Engineers and contractors could give and estimate for a job they are going to do in two weeks, cos prices changes daily. If I was not doing all by myself I would have thought someone ate my money. My advice is please guys lets cut some slacks for builders and Engineers in the house. [b]Sometimes the sublet the jobs to a worker and the worker do not give a damn about reputation and does a shoddy job, [/b]I have one as we speak, ordinary window dressing he made a big messs and wasted 3 bags of cement.

Hmm.....okay I understand but you seem to feel so strongly about this.

I had my own thoughts on the issue, however, I wanted to hear yours first. I think it's very selfish when people have kids as a retirement plan and for the sake of who will look after them in old age.

When there's no careful planning towards retirement, other than the thinking that children I gave birth to, suffered and sacrificed for, should take care of me.......it seems selfish to me. Like the sole purpose of having kids, was about being cared for in old age.

People also tend to forget that the good book says, good parents leave an inheritance for their children's children. They would rather depend on children than plan their lives, their retirement and leave an inheritance behind, in the process.

If I was interested in having children but can't leave an inheritance, I would at least plan towards my retirement. Because, children are very unreliable for different reasons, like no jobs, a long job search, low pay, a bad economy, personal selfishness like the 29 year old living with his father and not helping out with the bills.

The other set of people who have kids just to prove a point that their reproductive organs are working also seem selfish. The ones who birth more and more, in search of a son to carry on their name are the most vain and selfish ones. Of what use or value is your name and earthly succession, if it doesn't take you to heaven at the end of the day and your life?
