formerUKSF: Nairalanders please with the way thinz are going in thiz country it is better for one to plan very well.
Education does not guarantee a sure future(in financial terms).it is better to learn a skill which can help on the long run.
Which is better to learn now ??
Plumbing. I really can't stand all types of irritation
Carpentery. Will it be expensive to start the business after learning.
Solar power installation. I really love it buh pls i need to Know more
Cctv installation. Can sum 1 really survive on this skill in nigeria
Am 20 and i'll love to get married at most 25.
I just need to be financially capable to do what i want Get a car, build my own house(even if it's a 4-5 bdrm bungalow),take care of my family.
Mods please move to fp it will help alot thx O boy talk for yourself. My own education is guaranteeing my future, . It's high time people became intentional about what course they rush to the university to study. Don't jump into Botany, for instance, in Nigeria and hope to feed from it. |

Polchiz: It is 33k in the North.
Other graduates also gets teaching job that pays between 15-70k while they search for a better job
The country is so bad that nobody is sure of anything.
Even doctors who are gainfully employed are struggling with their poor salary.
Imagine a Prof of Medicine cannot earn up to 700k after income tax and other deduction. Mind you the Prof might have spent over 25 years in civil service. Meanwhile, a graduate of CRS with 2.1 can secure a job in the bank and start earning 235k with other allowances and bonuses. Within 5 years, if he/she doesn't get sacked, he/she can become a manager and start earning close to 1 million monthly.
Additionally, a Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Chemical Engineering/Food Science and Tech graduate can secure a job in a multinational company and become a manager after training. Immediately, the person is entitled to car grant, housing allowance, production bonus, leave allowance etc. It will shock you to know that, they are already earning more than a Prof of medicine.
There is no automatic ticket to success. If you must succeed, make the best out of every opportunity that comes your way. I think you're actually one of those who are embittered they couldn't meet up with the admission cut-off score to study medicine In which North is a doctor being paid 33K As an NYSC medical officer there as far back as in 2011, i was already being paid 66,000 plus the 18,600 FG allowance(total of 84,600), outside my dealings in the nearby private hospitals As an Corps member in your yeye profession, were you paid upto that?? Again, i was earning over 500k(outside private practice) while working in an FG hospital before i traveled in 2019, and that was what anyone at my level in the North was getting too. So, where is this 33k from? Even if the professor doesn't make more 700k working in a govt hospital, do you know how much he makes from other hospitals he consults in? How about his private clinic(s)? Outside the establishment they managed to employ you, do you have any other means of making money as a Biochemist? If you by chance you're sacked, won't you die of hunger, as your profession doesn't confer any skill on you, which you can practise independently? You just managed to get job out of the millions of Biochemists roaming joblessly in Nigeria, and instead of thanking your God, you rushed down here to vomit things you don't know much about. No one is competing with you, man. Just focus on your profession and leave doctors alone. |

This does not apply in every case, especially in one like this! The idiot is out to humiliate this guy(Op) either as part of family competition or to settle a previous score with the Op, who might have forgotten something he did to him(cousin) or one of his siblings/parents in the past. Op should stay away from him by all means possible What business or work is he going to learn from the idiot that no one else can teach him?? At the end of the day, he will just be a useless Yahoo boy stealing money once in a blue from other people's sweat. As I said before, 500k is an average salary. And what comparison does 50k have to do with 500k? When you are calling monthly stipends? 50k follow?

kayperry: Lets cut the young man some slacks and personally i would, seein that he as made some moves,@least getting a new job. Nigerians problem is we only tend to "react" nobody cares to understand the problem, ... what brewed OP entitlement is what he as seen his uncle do for others, lets put ourselves in his shoes, same uncle that told you no money gave you 2k then you hear from an outsider he dashed them 50k .. we are all human emotions are bound to run buh thats were personality now comes to play. some of us were sired to believe nobody owe you anything but some aint so luck .. @victorusa my advice is you take ur mind off whatever ur uncles as done or doing, you might as well remove the usa behind ur name, if suffix is a must then just "Y" sounds appropriate, carry on with life, success no get age limit just focus on self discovery and more doors will be open unto you. if i tell you say e go easy naa zobo for ur own good, brace up n you'll succeed There's no cutting of any slacks here for anybody who doesn't merit it. No justification exists for people who exhibit such entitlement mentalities Do you know that even God himself doesn't bless everyone equally He said, with neither apology nor equivocation, that He shows mercy on whom He wants to show mercy on(Ron 9: 18). The money belongs to the uncle; he has the freedom to give anyone whatsoever amount he deems fit, and sometimes, it depends on lots of things which only him and those outsiders know. |

It's like this annoying mentality is now common with today's teenagers! A few weeks ago, i sent some money to one of my married sisters who never requested for it. From nowhere, her teenage son who never communicated with me since i treveled immediately sent me messages, telling me how he needed money for 'something'. Alaigbopress: Some days ago, I posted here about how my girl friend posted her ex pictures twice and I got a handful of advice, insults and very derogatory statements. Also at the same time I also got very few matured and helpful comment. I wanted to apply the advice I was given here because I was furious and that could have been disastrous.
The next day after posting here, I confronted my girl, I told her it is over between us(all was a ploy to know how much she loves me). Since that day, my Girl's mood changed, she doesn't talk to people, she doesn't laugh and even started skipping her meal. She came to my house and was crying heavily that she was sorry. That has it been she know that it will provoke me that she wouldn't have done it.
I still pretended that I will never forgive her. Just yesterday she called my female bestie and narrated to her what happened and she called me yesterday evening and pleaded with me to forgive her. Which I did and You need to see how happy this girl has been. I will send screen shot of her recent Whatsapp status.
My Advice to anyone seeking for a relationship advice is not to follow the popular comment here. Mumu, was it not the advice you got here that made you confront her, and eventually got the reaction/result you described here? You problem is just that of poor judgement |

TonyStark2: Hi, so sorry to bother you, but I would like you to be of a little help here.
And, please be sincere and honest with me, your say on this may shape a journey, once again, please be honest sir.
My questions: => Did you study pharmacy? => If yes, at OAU? => Was your result, I mean cumulative result good enough (above average)? => Are you unemployed (for the course you studied i.e pharmacy)? => Are there some of your colleagues currently unemployed, if yes, can you estimate an approximate percentage? => Is the proposed salary at job interview reflecting saturation in the field (i.e meager salary)?
Please sir, I have a friend whom I have advised to change his course to pharmacy, I wouldn't want to look like a devil to him few years to come when he ends up in a non-existent job market.
Thanks in anticipation, sir. Your friend should go ahead and study the course irrespective of this guy's responses Most times, outcomes are dependent on our inputs. The least amongst the popular medical/health courses, especially in Nigeria, is Medical Rehabilitation |

Those of you down there criticizing, cursing and laying all manners of karma on me, let me let you know that people have watched me being cheated, everyone mind their business and at the end I lost and my boss got away with it.
People that I thought would intervened for me and help me talk to the man all kept mute and watch everything go just like that.. That scenario played a mark in my life, it taught me that you are alone in this world if you are too good to people.. Everytime I remember the event, I weep.
So calling me wicked and laying karma on me because I let a petty thief live won't move my conscience because even when I was too good to people karma has already been playing on me. This is pure nonsense! So, why did you come to tell us? To join you in supporting the thief?? |
