Don’t misinform Nigerians on Toru-Ibe State – Advocate On October 20, 2011 · In News BY Victor-Ahiuma Young WARRI— PROMOTERS for the creation of Toru-Ibe State have appealed to the governments and opinion leaders in Edo, Delta and Ondo states not to misinform or mislead Nigerians about their agitation. Labour Party, LP, candidate for Warri North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly in the April 26 poll, Mr. Adanse Felix, said the agitation was about self-determination and for the Ijaw in those areas to have a state where they can freely vote and be voted for in elections. He said: “We appeal to monarchs as well as the government of Edo and Delta states not to misinform and mislead Nigerians about Toru-Ibe State. The suffering of the Ijaw in these states is nothing more than slavery and enslavement. “The only solution to save these fellow oppressed Nigerians is the creation of Toru-Ibe State. Its creation will certainly bring about peace and tranquility in the ever restive Niger Delta region. “We also want to correct an impression created that the Ijaw are tenants. Let us state here that Ijaws are the aborigines of the Niger Delta including the lands they are living on.” “What interest do these false claimants have to keep the Ijaw in Edo and Delta states? Is it to keep us in perpetual slavery, oppression, intimidation and marginalisation?” What the Ijaw want is a state of their own, where they can develop themselves and leave peacefully with neighbours in other states.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/dont-misinform-nigerians-on-toru-ibe-state-advocate/ |

adamabdul:I pity hausas living in the East. ![]() |
As if the Igbos have anything to do with your(northerners) failure to educate yourselves. |
redsquare:I hope this is true. Anioma will welcome a clean and stable new state capital. ![]() |
olawalebab:Thank you. |
Huh? ![]() ekt_bear: Armed robbers in Lagos also access waterfront compounds by boat. U.S. citizens, as well as Nigerians and other expatriates, have been victims of armed robbery at banks and grocery stores and on airport roads during both daylight and evening hours. Law enforcement authorities usually respond slowly or not at all, and provide little or no investigative support to victims. Armed robbers have boarded both commercial and private vessels to rob travelers. The Nigerian Navy has limited capacity to respond to criminal acts at sea. |
And when did Edo become a SE state? |
obo_man:Lmao! |
D-pharisee:Amaechi will not involve himself into this mess unless non-SE governors do as well. It may even make him seem more "Igbo" then he would want if he jumps in to it with rest of the Igbo govs which will not be good for him "politically". |
Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Imo? How come? . . .These people will do anything to push their colonial agenda through false propaganda. I suggest Nigeria warn its citizens about traveling to Chicago illinois and LA County,California because of gang violence which claims over 500 lives respectively a year; New york City New York and Camden,New Jersey for high armed robbery, car theft, drug dealing, and murders; New Orleans, Louisiana and Miami Florida for extreme kidnapping and ruthless killings. Hypocrites! |
