The other half you can solve with this: igboukwu art is sub standard to Ife art and they are not of the same style and genre. Do you disagree?
Elaborate on this please. Also, tell me how something made after another can set a standard for its precedence? Another thing that makes you statement even more dumb is you saying that "they are not the same style and genre", then my other question would be since that is the case, who in the world could the be measure in standard since they aren't in the same classification? Thats like having a table and a chair and saying "who is the best table according to table standards",lol.

1.) Hausa is not beside Yoruba, and yet the name came from Hausas, supposedly. So that point is dead.

2.) How do you if the word "igbo" is or isn't older than what are now known as the Igbo people? huh

3.) Again, just because it means something in Ijaw, does not mean that it can't mean something in itsekiri. You don't even know if the tones are the same, I bet.

4.) Warri is not an Ijaw word, and Ijaws don't claim it to be either. Ownership of Warri is a different matter.
Read, learn, then STFU. Your emotions aren't going to change the facts. Too bad for you:

Just cause it means something In Ijo does not mean that it has the same meaning in Itsekiri. "Igbo" is a word in Yoruba, but it is not the meaning of the Igbo ethnic group.

What if "Itsekiri" means Blessing everywhere or Blessing througout the land in Itsekiri?
And im sure "Igbo" means something else in other African languages too but you are forgetting that yoruba is not beside igbos so that name didnt come from them. Also, that name "Igbo" has been in existance even before the supposed "birth" of the yoruba people. grin. . .The itsekiri on the other hand were neighbors of the ijaw and were made enemies to the ijaw. It is a word used by the Ijaw to describe the itsekiri. My guess is that the europeans just used it to name their tribe. Anybody who knows ijaws knows that thats an ijaw word/name, so is Warri although warri is not ijaw land.

Find out how the name came abt. It has nothing to do with blessing.

‘Onitsha biggest market worldwide’

By Adimike George, Onitsha 12 hours 48 minutes ago

THE Onitsha Market in Anambra State has been described as the busiest and biggest market in the world by an American firm.

The representatives of Carlton Company, who were in the city to interact with their customers, spoke yesterday.

Leader of the team, Geoff Peters, addressed reporters in Onitsha shortly after an interaction with their customers in the market.
Peters said Onitsha had remained the company’s greatest customer in Africa, adding that the company was satisfied with the level of awareness on the need for genuine and quality products.

“We are here with our business partner, SOKKA International, who is the Carlton Distributor in West Africa. We are proud of our association with them and are happy to be able to see that markets of Nigeria are taking genuine products of our company. We are very strict in trying to stop imitation and fake products in Carlton brands,” he said.

Nigeria, UK diplomatic row looms as govt cuts BA flights

By Wole Shadare

Britain may retaliate

NIGERIA and the United Kingdom (UK) may be heading for a diplomatic faceoff after Abuja cut British Airways' (BA's) seven frequencies (number of operations) to three.

The government had cut down on the European carrier's frequency via a letter signed by the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah-Ogiewonyi.

The new schedule is that BA which arrives at 6.00pm daily from London will now touch down in Lagos at 6.00am and remain on ground till 10pm, while the third frequency of the airline for the week departs Lagos at 23.20pm. The new schedule is now Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

A dependable source in government circles said that there "is no where you keep an aircraft at 6am on ground till 10pm. It is not done anywhere and this is primitive".

There are indications that the UK could also retaliate against Arik Air for the same frequency for the Nigerian carrier, thereby affording Air France, KLM, Emirates, Qatar and others a huge market share.

Meanwhile, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has issued a new memo to all airlines operating in out of the country.

The circular signed by Airport Manager, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Mr. Edward Olarerin stated: "The aviation slot committee has reviewed the 2011 winter schedule for the airlines. The following decisions have been made to ease flight operations in and out of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

"The changes include reduction in some airlines, change in arrival and departure of some flights, change of parking bay, change of check-in counters".

The airline chief advised the airlines to adhere strictly to the new slot allocation.

The BASA agreement signed years ago, regulates commercial air transportation between both countries. Under that agreement, Britain and Nigeria agreed that each country would give each other 21 weekly frequencies for their commercial airlines.

Chief Executive, Financial Derivatives, Bismark Rilwane, said he was shocked by government's decision to visit an agreement between two countries on an independent airline.

He described the action as counter-productive, as the UK government may equally retaliate against Nigerians.

Speaking on the issue of slot allocations, the finance expert said slots in many airports are bought at the secondary market when there are no more at the primary market.

He expressed shock that the issue was reminiscent of the military era of General Sani Abacha, which he noted was inimical to globalization and liberalization of air transport business, adding that government action had serious economic implication for Nigeria.

Another expert, Chris Aligbe said BASA entailed reciprocity just as he urged the UK government to respect agreement by giving Nigeria 21 frequencies as enjoyed by British carriers.

At the time the agreement was signed, there were no Nigerian airlines to service London from Nigeria, so the airline and some other European carriers were forced to pay royalty to the Nigerian government under a special fund known as BASA fund that has risen to over $70 million and which is held in trust for the nation by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Just last week, Chairman of Arik Air, Sir Joseph Arumemi Ikhide expressed his frustration at having to pay for slots to land at London's Heathrow Airport.

He explained that he had to rent landing slots from British Midland International at £1.4 million between 2009 and last year.

ChinenyeN:
This is the point where there exists no standard answer, simply because each state, on the receiving end, knows its own current situation better than anyone else, and as such, would have to make its own decision on this matter. So the steps Anambra would take, to mitigate, would not be the same as the steps Imo might take. Each state knows what best to do for itself and should act accordingly, but one thing is certain, you don't mitigate be making threats, the way Rochas did. Neither do you mitigate by speaking of "punishment" the way Onlytruth is doing.
About Rocha's assistant's threat, it wasn't Rocha's himself but a slip in tongue by his assistant, maybe that "threat" is more of a warning of the inevitable due to unability to serve the needs of the Imo indigenes who were sent back due to occupied position of Abia indigenes. For one, Rochas planned to pay 2,000 naira more than the required minimum wage. Something has to give. The states arent all that big in the fist place.

Some times for things to be fix a mass ruffling of feathers need to be made. There must be an uproar before an uncomprimising mind will finally know that being unwilling to bend on certain issues will only put him in the flames when the same is thrown on him.It may see troublesome at the beginning but there will be unity among the people at the end once more pressure is applied on that air-head. He either gives in or destroys himself.

ChinenyeN:
@TOPIC - Question: Is there no S.E. council?

Onlytruth, you should really put your words into perspective. With the way you are responding, I don't even know if you understand that you are essentially doing nothing more than creating unnecessary victims of circumstance. You're statement of "Abians are fools" is a foolish statement indeed. Abia is a construct that could have been fashioned in any, way shape or form, but as fate would have it, Abia consists of Aba province, Old Bende, and some Okigwe division. For all we know, fate could have had it that Abia would have consisted of Orumba LGA's some Enugu, and Okigwe division, or any other arbitrary combination. So what is "Abia state"? If Abia had consisted of Orumba LGA's, some Enugu and Okigwe division, abi then this arbitrary collection of people would then be the "Abian fools" that you're referring to, and then you would be shouting, let us punish "Abia state". Put your words into perspective. Every one of us here is older than the construct called "Abia state".
There is a SE council but the nimwit of a governor Orji was not man enough to show up. This particular reason is why I said in an Igbo country we must not have this governmental type of system. No president, no governors,no premiers, strictly assemblies. That is the what works for us. One man should not be given that much power.

About the comment about "Abia State", on point cool. . .Like I've said before, there is no such thing as "states" in Igboland. State creation now should be more of a demarcation of Igboland incase of a possible disintegration of nigeria which may lead to part of our lands being ceded/grab to another country and those Igbos living in subjugation.

@Others calling Abians fools, desist. Do keep in mind that the army played a major roll in Orji's election, unless you are saying the citizens should have fough bullet, grenades, and Hausa muslims who were waiting for any excuse to slaughter Igbos? Get real. Orji is a selfish bloody fool.

The Westerners have a saying, Two wrongs don't make a right. To compliment that, my father has a saying, It is just as much your fault as it is theirs. Problems do not exist in a vacuum. They exist in interaction. One factor acts, another reacts. Acts conflict, problems are born. Some here are speaking from both ends of their mouths, talking about Igbo unity this, and then punishment that. Enough talk. Let me see that "hand of Ndigbo", and then after all is said and done, we will really see who did more damage to Igbo unity. Orji started nonsense. If you people on the receiving end are smart, you will mitigate it, not compound it.
Mitigate it how?

I'm sure he knew that from the start. If it were my guess, he was counting on immediate and mass support from Abia indigenes, which no one has yet seen. Orji would not feel compelled to send a representative to the traditional rulers if he had already attained immediate and mass support from Abia indigenes.

THERE are indications that traditional rulers in the South East may wade into the face –off between Abia State Government and the other South East states over disengagement of non_indigenes working in Abia State civil service.

This followed a call by Governor Theodore Orji on traditional rulers from the South_East to help him explain to their different state governments the reason he disengaged the non_indigenes working in the state civil service and sent them back to their different states of origin.

The indication emerged from the meeting of the South_East executive committee of the traditional rulers council, held weekend in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

Addressing the royal fathers, Governor Orji, represented by his deputy, Chief Emeka Ananaba, said that he could not stand and watch those who elected him into office suffer, while he had the means to help them out of their problems.

He appealed to the royal fathers to help him explain to their different state governments why Abia State Government had to take the decision, saying that no responsible government would allow its people to suffer.

“I want you to deliberate on the reasons why our government had to send back non_indigenes working in our state civil service back to their states of origin. It is only when you see our reason and deliberate on it that you can explain to your different state governments to avoid conflict,” Orji said.

According to him, the state government had been carrying a heavy load because of the bloated work force of its civil service, adding that they had been managing it until the issue of minimum wage came up and made it unbearable for the state.

He commended the founding fathers of the traditional ruler’s council, and told them that as people with homogenous background, they had a lot in common to share.

“There is need for you people to meet more often to forge a way forward for the unity and development of the (South-East) zone,” Orji charged them.

The governor also challenged them to ensure peace in their various domains, saying “as the custodians of the custom and tradition, you should also ensure peace in your areas through monitoring those that come and go in your areas.

“It is a shame that crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes are now the order of the day; we need to put a stop to such dastardly act in our society. You have to help government fight crimes from your different communities as you know your subjects better than any other in any given society.”

In a communiqué issued later, the traditional rulers council said that they had set up a committee headed by the Chairman, Abia Sate Traditional Rulers Council, Eze John Akaliro, to ensure peaceful co_existence and unity in the zone.

y'all read and learn, go to wikipedia

Rivers State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria. Its capital is Port Harcourt. It is bounded on the South by the Atlantic Ocean, to the North by Imo, Abia and Anambra States, to the East by Akwa Ibom State and to the West by Bayelsa and Delta states. Rivers state is home to a variety of ethnic groups, including Abua, Andoni, Ekpeye, Engenni, Etche, lbani, lkwerre, Kalabari, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Okrika and Ogoni.[3]

The inland part of Rivers state consists of tropical rainforest; towards the coast the typical Niger Delta environment features many mangrove swamps.

Rivers state, named after the many rivers that border its territory, was part of the Oil Rivers Protectorate from 1885 till 1893, when it became part of the Niger Coast Protectorate. In 1900 the region was merged with the chartered territories of the Royal Niger Company to form the colony of Southern Nigeria.

The state was formed in 1967 with the split of the Eastern Region of Nigeria. Until 1996 the state contained the area which is now in the Bayelsa State.
Just like a typical ijo fisherman. When its to suit your view, the Igbo clans become separate ethnicities but when any of them are against your ambitions then they all become IGBO. Reminds me of your Uncle, Edwin Clarke, lol Igbo(Ikwerre.Etche, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, and Ekpeye).
