PoliticsRe: Abia State, Deliverying Quality Healthcare(pictures) by cjrane: 4:12am On Jan 05, 2014
This man is building all these hospitals in Umuahia while the state teaching hospital in Aba is still in the temporary site and has continued to deteriorate in services it hitherto rendered.

My question is "Is there a conspiracy to underdevelop Aba by the Orji regime?" What did Ngwa people do to deserve such treatment meted to Aba?

Heavensake: @cjrane, Ezigbo nwannem i agree with you on igbomans situation in nigeria.

Beautifully, we are from d same anioma but my forefathers migrated to southeast.

Thnx Bro. I bu ezigbo nwannem !
Let us ignore those types of negative shameful energy between the likes of Chino and Abagworo. Since we can't stop them from hating eachother, we must ignore them.

We must propagate unity amongst our people to survive the unwarranted but mammoth hatred and evil plot against us as a people in Nigeria. Lest we may tragically fall into the same fatal mistakes our fore fathers made.

No, i just saw that video about 5 months ago and was delighted at what we have achieved in Enugu.May God bless Sullivan Chime.

about igbos being unsettld by d progrss of a sister state, it leaves me disapointed always.
If not dat God has decided to set u people free, d usual strangers will do anything to u people and get away with it.

For those dat hav absurd feeling for enugu city simply because its located in wawa, i have dis for u. N'oge n'akarighi otu afor obodo a g'abu isi obodo gi. Let me stop here for now.
In 1995, i had a heated arguement in Yenagoa with a friend, he told me Igbos were jealous of Ijaw because the north preferred Ijaw to Igbo. My argument then was simple " The north is using divide and rule tactics to turn Ijaw against their Igbo brethren to conquer both". They would treat an Ijaw man exactly or even worse than they would an Igboman. I ran into him recently in Lagos last June, and now he now concurs the north just used them against Igbos! Those that fan the embers of disunity in Igboland are truly blind!
I believe your comment was directed at me.I won't reply negatively, because i can see that your mind is already tuned negatively to have twisted my comments for development into your perceived anti-wawa rant.

Although this isn't relevant, I will have you know that I was actually born at the Mother of Christ hospital opposite Ogbete, Enugu and from your post, i can tell i must be older than you. I was also raised in New Haven, Enugu where i crossed the same Chime ave. thousands of time before it was dualized. I also went to university in Enugu!
Therefore, i consider myself from Enugu, even though my state of origin is Delta! I don't indulge in that senseless Wawa vs. others or Anambra vs. Imo thing. If you guys understood the dynamics of Nigeria deeply enough, you will have discovered the level of evil plot against YOU as an IGBOMAN in Nigeria, not as Anioma, Anambra,Wawa or Ikwerre man. Then, you will be going from door to door like me to weep and preach that Igbos should unite just to survive Nigeria. I will leave my sermon here for now.

Chime Avenue is showed in the video from 4:00 to 6:25.
My post was merely to encourage the transformation of that wide median into an aesthetic masterpiece just like the similar type of wide median you see in the pictures below from other Nigerian cities.

asha 80: the sand in that median has to be covered.
Please i disagree o! They shouldn't just cover the median with cement as roads are done in Somalia and other arid countries where flowers do not grow.

They should actually do it well and do the right thing to grass it and plant trees & flowers to make it look like decent roads.
Example is some of these Akpabio roads which has powerful ambiance because the median is properly beautified with flowers and trees.
The same aesthetic beautification should be done in the median of Chime Avenue.
Chime Avenue would be the most beautiful road in Enugu if the wide median were not merely abandoned as a bush.

Freeglobe nwannem,
Happy New Year!
Your comments are the very very few i read in NL because your high IQ and intelligence is often obvious in your posts.
But, this Obi's hatred is really consuming you oh! Obi will leave office in 3 months nah?
I understand that Ngige was your candidate for the gubernatorial election, but he could have won if the majority of Anambra people liked him like you. Unfortunately, most of them didn't and they have a right to choose who they prefer. So, don't be perpetually bitter so as not to be consumed by hate.

Obi deserves the award he got at least for his intervention in Education,Health and infrastructure. He had A LOT OF SHORTCOMINGS, but he also did a lot of good testified by good men of God who have not been known to play politics and who simply state the truth as they see it. Many shady politicians in Igboland always runaway from these men of God who have no fear in telling you that you are a disaster in your face if your works are bad. Ask Gov. Mbadinuju. Obi is not perfect,i don't even agree with all he does, but he surely has love in his heart for Anambra people and their state.

We should now seriously work for true unity and progress, or we uphold the determination of the colonialists that in their wisdom decided Nigeria should cease being one country from 1st January, 2014.

I personally believe the best way to make Nigeria great is by true Federalism and resource control as it is practiced in America.
Hence, the best way to show your grudge is to prevent anyone else from appropriating your resources. That is why i expect an increased blowing up of the oil infrastructure from now and beyond 2015.

Goddex: Obasanjo wanted to bomb INEC headquarters to frustrate elections and achieve tenure elongation through the backdoor? Read this

[size=16pt]You will recall three incidents that happened in 2007 which seemed to have been orchestrated to achieve sinister objectives.  Here in Abuja, a petrol tanker loaded with explosives was to be rammed into the INEC building. But luckily for the country, an electric pole stopped the tanker from hitting the INEC building.  It is clear that this incident was meant to exploit the general sense of insecurity in the nation at the time to achieve the aim of stopping the 2007 elections - GEJ

Obasanjo's crimes against Nigeria is massive. In sane societies, he would be in jail, but Nigeria is a mad society where mad people allow such a roundly corrupt and maniac like Obasanjo to dictate to them. That is why this country must be divided once and for all.

PoliticsRe: Court Can’t Declare Our Seats Vacant — Zakari Mohammed by cjrane: 5:21am On Dec 22, 2013
DonColz1: The House of Representatives member representing Baruteen- Kaiama Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, is one of the 37 lawmakers that recently defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the opposition All Progressives Congress. In this interview withSUCCESS NWOGU, he says why they did so

What was the reason for the defection of 37 members of the House of Representatives from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress?
I cannot speak on behalf of other members I can only speak for myself.

So, why did you defect?
Every politics is local. What I mean by local is that some people sent me to Abuja to go and represent them. And if at some point their desires are not met as a people, they have the right to at least look for a choice and they have seen a choice in APC. That is why they changed camp and asked me as one of those representing them to also change camp. If you are a true representative of the people, you have to be responsive to them. The good thing to do is to respect their wishes and aspirations.

But some people have said your defection and that of other Rep members from the PDP to the APC was not borne out of personal conviction but that you were compelled to dance to the tune of your political leaders.
No! It is far from it. A lot of us, I must say are not new politically. At least, I have been in this game for over a decade now. I went to school too. I know my left from my right. When I see what will benefit me and lengthen my political participation and representation further, I know.

What is there for anybody to compel one?
It is out of our personal conviction. We have been holding meetings and of course, it is a demonstration of all the efforts that we have come out with. Please, I do not want to appear as if I am speaking on behalf of others. You know that as a spokesman of the House of Representatives, I speak for the House; but this response is my personal opinion and does not represent that of the House. It should be taken as my personal opinion.

Thirty-seven members of the House of Representatives defected the same day.
It could not have been by coincidence. How did you arrive at the group defection?
I have already told you that like minds had meetings. The parliament is a very interesting place. In the parliament, people will always come up with their own ideas. If there is change in political activities, our constituents have their own opinion. We too, as individuals, have our own opinions. We have to come together. In the parliament, there are like minds that sit down and rob minds together. We begin to look at our political future as young individuals and look at the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian people. The next question is which vehicle, which party can we belong to address the people’s aspirations and desires. Like minds came together, took some decisions and follow up with action.

PDP is threatening the defectors with court action. What is your response to this?
My advice to those who are thinking like that is that they should study the court judgment very well before they draw their conclusions. They cannot declare my seat vacant. The only people who have powers to call me or make me lose my seat are my constituents, whose confidence I have.

You emerged as the spokesperson of the House of Representatives when you belonged to the PDP, then the dominant party, are you not threatened that by this defection, you may lose your position?
I was elected first and foremost as a member of the House of Representatives; every other thing that comes with it is an addition or a complement. So, in the opinion of the presiding officers, if they think that I am representing their views well, there is nothing to fear but if they think otherwise, why not? The prerequisite is with them.

What are the features that you have seen in APC that made you to dump the PDP for it?
One, it is my personal conviction. One may ask, ‘am I at the right place now?’ Considering the realities of my country now, is it possible for me to go back to my people with that same vehicle? These are questions that are food for thought. Can I win an election with that vehicle? Are my people comfortable with it? Have I been able to, at least, plough back to them, using the vehicle of the party that they gave me their representation in terms of the dividends of democracy? If the answers are in the negative, then why should I continue to be in that party? As a representative who is being saddled and should be actively concerned with the needs of my people, because I am a leader in my own right, on how to solve the problems of my people. Should I not take an action that will alleviate the plight of my people?
[size=18pt]
The courts are there to interpret our constitution and not your silly personal interpretation. You cannot be Judge and Jury in your own case.

If you have committed any acts, let the courts tell us if your action amounts to declaration of your seats vacant. not what your perverted opinion is of your action.

PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by cjrane:
invest-now2013:
We definitely Need the political will by the Governors of The Eastern Nigeria to break the monopoly of This important Economic Front by our brothers from The West & The North. We Need To come together to form an AIR-LINE. It can be called EAST-AIRLINE OR IGWEBUIKE AIRLINES.The Governors of Eastern Nigeria can help to set-up the Airline by committing more than 5Billion Naira each,Which They will later give out as shares to the people of the EAST & others. The Governors will need to encourage our Billioneers & other corporate bodies to invest in the Airline.I will definitely invest in it!.If This is done, The Eastern Economy will be opened up & also becomes competitive!
The Governors of the SE do not posses the magic wand nor the critical mass of resources to do what is being suggested. Even if they formed your Igwebuike airline, they still will not be granted landing rights at Heathrow or New York etc, as you have inadvertently assumed.I don't need to mention that it costs billions of dollars annually to run a truly global airline business with offices in key cities around the world. When viewed against the backdrop that most of SE states barely have N100 billion NAIRA as annual budget (about $650 million dollars), while other pressing needs they must overlook just to focus on the priority areas of paying salaries and funding education and healthcare from their paltry $650 million dollars per year, you can see how difficult it will be to find billions of dollars to float in an INTERNATIONAL airline business.
What SE governors can do is to create conducive environment for international airlines to operate into Enugu. Which Gov. Chime have been doing unrelentingly for a while now by putting in place world class infrastructure and security.

Those waiting for the 7 airlines to open Enugu route before they start using AIIA will have to wait forever. You must show them you prefer to fly to Enugu International, before they will open that route! Therefore, on our part, we have a responsibility to patronize the Enugu International airport before other airlines will take notice of the passenger traffic and vie to benefit from it. Therefore, if the Ethiopian airline can barely find passengers prepared to fly to Enugu, no other airline will venture into that route. Even if you built the best and most modern international terminal building in the world, if nobody is willing to fly there,no airline will go there!

I will give you an example of how passenger traffic works in opening up an air route. All International airlines have a market monitoring unit that monitors all the markets and airports passengers traffic around the world. In the 1980s Nigeria airways used to fly from Lagos to New York city. Ghanians used to fly to America and Europe through Lagos. But they realized their own Kotoka International airport would be a mere domestic airport if they continued to fly through Lagos which was by the way a lot cheaper and easier for them. So they decided to be patriotic to only patronize international airlines that flew into Accra. As soon as the international airlines noticed heavy traffic of Ghanian passengers in the few airlines then flying to Accra as a result of the determination of Ghanians to begin and end their journey in Accra rather than Lagos, almost all European airlines opened an Accra route to benefit from the Ghana passengers. Even Delta airline now flies direct to Accra too!
In other words, your attitude towards using Enugu International airport will determine which international airline will be next to come to that route and not the other way round.

I think the joke is actually on you that don't know the Polo Park Mall security-men disallow taking pictures inside the mall.

In this Enugu thread, we are grateful to those who take-out time to snap and post picshures here for everyone's viewing pleasure. The quality, the angle and even the location they choose to photograph is totally to their discretion.
Since nobody stopped you from taking your well informed professional picshures and posting them here for everyone's pleasure, you should either go and take yours or atleast show some gratitude to those people transporting themselves around town to entertain you free of charge with their cameras. Some may have to buy petrol to put in generator to post pictures for other NLanders.
First say THANK YOU to them then BEG them to snap the inside of the mall for you instead of insinuating they are funny characters for their efforts grin
