The only problem I have had with subsequent Anambra governors is what can be rightly described as the 'Niger Delta Governors syndrome' . This is the habit if building fake or low quality projects even when they can afford high quality things. Apart from Godswill Akpabio and Donald Duke, a typical Anambra or Niger Delta governor will use N10 million naira to build a road or a project that requires N50 million. Then they would keep doing maintenance on the road for 200 times at N10 million per maintenance job. Eventually they will spend N2 billion naira. Where they could have spent just N50 million for the initial job. I am glad Obiano seem to have set aside enough budget for this project. One also hopes that it will be of international standard and not another unplanned open air market with no parking on conveniences. They should actually set aside areas of the project for eateries and relaxation areas for visitors and tourists. It will be diasterous to build another main market design in 2014. I wish the Anambra governors will imbibe the Godswill Akpabio spirit to build enduring well designed structures for posterity. |

![]() So Nigeria should only exist when it is Yoruba ruling Ijaw and even stealing the Ijaw resources to build Presidential libraries and palaces in Otta and other parts of yoruba land? |
EKONGKING: They're not happy in Gaza .. They're not happy in Egypt .. They're not happy in Libya .. They're not happy in Morocco .. They're not happy in Iran .. They're not happy in Iraq .. They're not happy in Yemen .. They're not happy in Afghanistan .. They're not happy in Pakistan .. They're not happy in Syria .. They're not happy in Lebanon .. SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY? They're happy in Australia . They're happy in Canada . They're happy in England .. They're happy in France .. They're happy in Italy .. They're happy in Germany .. They're happy in Sweden .. They're happy in the USA .. They're happy in Norway .. They're happy in Holland . They're happy in India . They're happy in Denmark . Basically, they're happy in every country that is not Muslim and unhappy in every country that is! AND WHO DO THEY BLAME? Not Islam. Not their leadership. Not themselves. THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN! AND THEN; They want to change those countries to be like.... THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY! Remark- Even Muslims can't disagree with this.Don't mess with the religion of PISS or you will be pieced on ! |
All Nigerian army or Air Force need to chase Boko haram are attack helicopter gunships with night fighting equipment. They should therefore use body heat infra red googles to see where the Boko terrorists are hiding at night and smoke them out. Any other equipment such as tanks is a waste of resources because they cannot maneuver in the mountainous forest terrain where the Boko people hide after their murderous rampage. |
TabletMan: I don't have any issue with anyone... Onitsha water scheme is working before peter obi came on board. I have told you before that we are always on top in education and it has nothing to do with Peter obi. Do u even know that peter obi did not construct any road with standard road at onitsha and nnewi? Guy.... Peter obi is a fraud. I am sorry, if i am not on same page with you on obi's government.Nnaa, you are being deliberately deceitful. I typically hate talking about another state in a thread open for a different state. But, your comment is very dishonest and misleading. Comparing Anambra to Enugu is beyond deceitful. Unlike Anambra, Enugu has been lucky to have a litany of great decent rulers and it had been a regional capital for a long period. Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, who is arguably the worst Enugu governor so far, is better than the best Anambra had produced before Peter Obi. His legacy projects such as ESUT Teaching hospital and ESUT permanent site,The Nigerian law school,Enugu, The Enugu International Conference center, Rangers Avenue, Ebeano tunnel etc, still stand out even today. Never in the history of Nigeria was any Anambra city comparable to Enugu in terms of ambiance or infrastructure. The hope in 1991, was that Anambra people will use their God given talent and resources to develop Awka into a city to behold. That dream became a nightmare as the " New Anambra dream" was quickly hijacked by godfatherisms and shady, crude businessmen who interpreted Anambra politics as merely a conduit to access the state treasury in order to mindlessly loot it and become richer! From Authur Eze to Emeka Offor to Chris Ubah, Anambra's collective patrimony was serially molested by a litany of common criminals masquerading as godfathers cum politicians. The decent citizens of Anambra ran for their dear lives and abandoned the now totally failed state to these so called godfathers to loot as it pleased them. The schools collapsed, the little infrastructure it had inherited in 1991 caved in and vanished. It truly seemed like the story and the great hopes of the "New Anambra dream" was over for good. By divine providence, Chris Ngige fell out with his own godfather and Obasanjo! Then in his effort to win back the peoples' true support he began the task of developing Anambra again! Ngige made the error of concentrating solely on roads in a state where all the systems had failed. However, for attempting to make a difference, Ngige was loved and hailed by Anambra people. When he was ousted by the courts for Peter Obi, a lot of Anambra people held their breathe and wondered if the state will return to the dungeon days of lawlessness. Alas! Peter Obi proved to have the required dogged determination to resist the intrigues of the enemies of Anambra that simply wanted him to share the peoples' money amongst themselves. For his refusal to patronize these self-styled "gods" of Anambra politics, he was prematurely impeached. Again by divine providence, Peter Obi regained his position as governor and set out a true development plan he nicknamed "ANIDS" to revive the completely failed systems and infrastructure of Anambra. The Peter Obi factor was completely decisive. Overnight, Anambra moved from a blacksheep and laughing stock amongst the SE states to regain a leading position and respect. From being the only SE state without a university,a place where primary and secondary schools could be closed for one whole year, with no functional capital city, government house nor any tertiary state hospital, Anambra finally had secretariat for its workers, built a respectable state university, got it's teaching hospital approved and overhauled its entire educational system. of course building a virile viable state is not what can be accomplished in 8 or even 20 years. Suffice to say that Peter Obi made it possible for Anambra people to remember their "New Anambra dream" as to why that state was created in order to focus their talent and resources on the tasks necessary to make Anambra truly great. |
spyder880: Trucks everywhereWhy do they always allow trucks to park on both sides of a highway to narrow it? This phenomenon has claimed thousands of lives across Nigeria. A Prof. once described the problem with Nigeria Police and road marshals as turning a blind eye to big offences right in front of them such as to allow these trucks to obstruct free flow of traffic on highways,to chase an okada rider because his break light is broken! Claiming the Okada man will cause serious road accidents without break lights on his bike, but will be unconcerned about this impending disaster of trucks lined up and parked along the highway! |
Evergreen123: Ihe nke a adigo too muchAn epidemic of substandard cement and fake iron rods. Many cement sellers now re-bag cement with grey colored clay. Likewise, nobody can vouch for the quality of some so called "Made in Nigeria cement" There should be a random sampling of bags of cement in the market to identify the fake ones and destroy them immediately. Also, maintain surveillance on the quality and type of so called "made in nigeria cement" sold in the market now. xtremely9ja: [s]I was in Onitsha recently on a working visit to some construction sites and you can't but notice the poor construction practices going on all over the place all in the name of wanting to have a multi storey building like everyone else. The inept government and the relevant authorities also are not helping matters because it was obvious nothing is been done to ensure compliance with the relevant building codes and laws.Crap! Your reasons could have been true if the collapse had not been specifically restricted to newer buildings still under construction. 99 percent of the buildings built in Onitsha from Woliwo, Fegge,Omaba etc happened after the civil war or atleast 40 years ago. They were mostly built without the so called "Professionals", but the cement and the iron rods were all good quality. Those buildings are still standing today. The present epidemic of collapse happen with NEW buildings done with NEW fake CEMENT and fake Iron rods presently in the market NOW! |
slimthugchimee: Am just askin we can hardly hear him on TV or even here in nairaland, you can hardly hear him calling APC that or PDP this. Its like he is in politics but not in politics.Who told you that Sullivan is "unpopular" Sullivan is a perfect learned gentleman that believes in the adage "Action speaks louder than words" After Chief Jim Nwobodo, nobody has done more to transform Enugu into a world class city than Sullivan Chime! |
musiwa112: fake.... nobody is doing anything.. i saw video .. of the place 4 days ago..If GEJ were Obasanjo or some former leaders such as Abacha, he would only focus on his area of the country. That is why his enemies are so astonished why he considers every part of Nigeria deserving of his attention, which is not the norm nor the style of a typical Nigerian leader. |
Nigeria should be renamed Anumgbada. I don't agree with the Ogboni cult name Airegin If we want a more modern name then remain it New England! |
myspnigeria: Ok o.... The buses caught fire by themselves thenTruth be said, I was there yesterday before the buses started burning. I didn't see a single soldier near any of the buses. Unless those people in plain clothes around the buses then were actually soldiers in civilian clothes. This is another case that should be thoroughly investigated. Some people may have done this and plotted to blame it on some elusive "soldiers". Nigerians are full of lies and deceit these days. |
ROSSIKE: Nigeria will look like heaven and Utopia compared to their society if they suffer economic collapse - say a repeat of the Great Depression, or a collapse of the dollar allied to nuclear conflict. You are extremely naive to see permanence in their present situation, seeing the fragile state of the globe in military and economic terms. ![]() they same way Iraqis boasted that America will be turned into a farmland if they attacked Saddam. Shebi Nigeria where education is haram, that cannot even produce a bicycle wheel will produce the nuclear weapons? Better still, Nigeria that is falling apart and US has since stopped oil importation from will cause the global financial crisis and great depression abi? Bros, you are seriously SICK and you need to see a veterinary doctor fast, ![]() I won't waste my precious time advising you further than that. |
I know Americans often do very crazy things. But only the incurably insane will beg to come to Nigeria of all places even for tourism! |
MOBJECTIVE: .....I'm so disappointed that we have yet another governor who thinks that flyovers makes for a world class city.I can't believe this MOBJECTIVE statement! I thought he was from Anambra? Nigerians never cease to amaze me when they open their mouths in matters they know next to nothing about! I can even try to understand if his statement was made for Abuja, PH or Lagos that largely function with basic infrastructure, NOT AWKA!!! So, Awka that has NOTHING and it's geographically disadvantaged by being perfectly bisected by the busy Enugu-Onitsha expressway, which has frustrated every real attempts to develop the New Capital territory located on the UNIZIK side of the expressway, because people are terrified to cross the extremely busy expressway by literally running or driving across fast oncoming vehicles from Enugu. Gov. Obiano identified this major obstacle to the city's development, which was also contained in the Habitat for Humanity masterplan for Awka city. Which stipulated at least 3 flyovers must be constructed at various points over the busy Enugu-Onitsha Expressway to link the old town to the New Capital territory on the opposite side of the expressway. A similar recommendation was also made for atleast 2 flyovers across the busy expressway at Onitsha, the first one will link MCC road to Oraifite street in Awada and Another at Uga Junction linking Atani road. Gov. Obiano has showed great foresight to invest into solving this man-made obstacle in development of the New Awka Capital Territory. Anambra people often only appreciate good things when they see it in Abuja, Lagos or PH. When it is brought home to their state, they'd always have a really silly comment. As Albert Einstein puts it; " Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former". - Albert Einstein Perhaps Gov. Obiano will serve Anambra better by donating the money to APC and defecting to that party or better still embarking on senseless foreign travels to Dubai and other parts of the middle east to chase elusive foreign investors as a certain SE governor has specialized. ![]() |
Even if it were just based on arterial network of well paved dual carriage roads and size of the metropolis, Owerri cannot compare to Enugu at all. After Douglas,Wetheral,Okigwe, and orlu roads, tell me what else we have in Owerri? Plus Sullivan Chime seem well determined to launch Enugu into the future as he constructs world standard roads complete with functional street lights, traffic lights, road signs and gutters! Sullivan should empower the Enugu police, ESWMA to begin impounding vehicles that disobey traffic lights in Enugu until the owners of such vehicles bring confirmation payment receipts from the bank showing that they have paid the stated fine into the state government bank account. I hope his partnership with the FG for the Enugu Inland dry port and export processing zone along the completed Enugu-Port Harcourt railway line comes to reality soon. The marked difference between the Enugu Governor and other SE states and indeed some SS states, which have much more money than Enugu is Sullivan's bigger vision for his state and knowing exactly the path to get there. Yet, without making any noise about his mighty achievements as we have with Roachas. |
@Op, Exactly! The reason they are doing this do or die politics is because they fear they will lose their lion grip on the oil blocks come 2015. Well, Nigeria is greater than oil benefits for a few men. If they allow Nigerians to choose their leaders peacefully, then they can keep their oil blocks. If they don't, i swear by olumila & sango, they won't be able to lift one cup out of those oil wells again. |
donphilopus: Before you call him a Yoruba boy because he doesn't support you, take a look at this:If i click that your link, make my hand bend! As if we don't know of all the Yoruba people that must "advise" Igbos all the time on what to do using fake monikers. As Fela rightly put it, "Animals wan dash human beings, human rights?" Yoruba knows that in spite of their noise, they will lose in 2015 just like their Ngige lost in Anambra. I just pray that enough security is provided nationwide to make rigging impossible. We shall be back on this page to discuss how APC lost. ![]() |
noblezone: Only in Nigeria!Because Yoruba is out to use all sorts of falsehood to blackmail the Minister for fixing the aviation Industry. Anyone who isn't yoruba in the aviation ministry will be blackmailed and stampeded out of the office if they attempt to fix any wrong thing. Fortunately, the more they heaps lies against the Minister, the more she is supported by a greater percentage of Nigerians who see that those that have held Nigeria down and ruined it are the ones fighting to stop anyone who is bringing positive change into any ministry. They have failed and should get used to it! Now, lets get on to the next heap of lies! ![]() |
omanzo02: It's obvious APC are into propaganda and threat without strategy to win the forth coming elections, while PDP already swings into action to dislodge the oppositions, if PDP wins in 2015, would Apc acknowledged its shortcomings and conceed defeat?Ofcourse they won't accept that they lost. But it is OK. They can start another Boko Haram this time in NW, we will be too glad to match them again as we have done since 2011. ![]() |
Warning: Don't demonize Islam or we will bring Boko Haram to your office ![]() Truly a religion of Piss. Talk about being a saint! ![]() |
Which region is called the EAST is Nigeria? Shebi Igbos are now mischievously grouped as Edo and Bayelsa people! But when it suits them, Igbos will suddenly be called SOUTHEAST! It will be intersting to know how much was allocated to South-West and North-West. Also how much have been allocated to these two regions unfairly since 1999. ![]() Yoruba people sef and their mischievous nature. |
clean2: judging by the current political realities of the current alignment between the north and south west, i am suggesting that ndi igbo should move to the apc inorder not to pitch us as aggressors against the other two major ethnic groups who have joined force against the south south. If we recall historic events pre, during and post the civil war, we shall see that the south south always choose to align with the north and south west and always prefer to distrust us. Lets becareful not to repeat past historical mistakes which had grave consequences. You are the biggest yoruba fool thinking you are deceiving Igbo. Yoruba party have never been known to win any national election since 1960, therefore, let Yoruba stay in APC. The result will be exactly the same. |
courage54: I don't see Nigeria breaking up even in 100years to come. I think Nigeria as a nation has come to stay so wat we need are pragmatic solutions to our problems not division. There is no pragmatic solution that have not been tried. OIL is the only reason why Nigeria is still together. Therefore, after 2015,it will be time to start blowing up all oil infrastructure and kidnapping the oil expatriates. This time around,we will kidnap and kill them, even after collecting ransom so that they will get the message that we truly don't want them to be uniting Nigeria with their oil production. |
Let Nigeria breakup after 2015! We are tired of this sham marriage by people that hate each other so intensely. |
So they "missed" an old man like that? Yeye people! Please tell your cock and bull story to the birds! I suspect this is part of the OBJ 1000 snipers project. ![]() |
To even fathom comparing a man like Awolowo to Mandela is the height of delusion by awo supporters. With the complete dearth of virtue amongst Nigerians and their peculiar type of "leaders",I won't be surprised to hear comparison between Abacha or Obasanjo to Mandela tomorrow! While Awolowo simply ruined Nigeria because he didn't believe in it anyway, Mandela saved South Africa and to a large extent the world.By not just preaching tolerance and forgiveness, but used his life as example for others to learn how to forgive their fellow countrymen or anyone else. |
Nigerians should legally own firearms. We all know that the emergency system does not work in Nigeria, if a kidnapper comes to your home to rob and kidnap, the only thing that can deter him is a shot fired, even into the air. In the 1980s, armed robbery and violent crimes were somehow at bay because most homes that i knew of had at least a double barrel gun. Today, it is harder to purchase a firearm through approved dealers, except you are an armed robber to buy from the black market. We should license Nigerian dealers to legally sell non-offensive firearms to law abiding citizens who simply need to have some protection against armed robbers and other violent criminals invading their homes. |
Igbo Muslims praying in Owerri !!! Never knew so much Igbos were indeed Muslims! I asked myself, So why are the northerners killing them? When these Igbos originally living in north have even embraced their religion? Tells you the Hausa/Fulani man hates Igbo religion or no religion! These Igbo Muslims are in the wrong religion because they will NEVER be accepted as true Muslims! ![]() Unlike Christianity that have made Igbo Bishops and Cardinals! If Pat Utomi gets up to 50,000 votes, i will be shocked. He is tactless as a person and does not know much about politics. I hope our people will not waste our chance by presenting that sure loser as a candidate. |
