PoliticsRe: Abia-state Airport-can Governor Orji Deliver? by cjrane: 1:28am On Nov 02, 2013
An airport in Aba would not be a bad thing. But it will make Owerri airport unviable just as it may end up being unviable.

The same exact reason why building another airport in Onitsha less than 5 minutes away from Asaba intl. airport will eventually make both airports unviable waste of public funds.

It is amazing that over the years calls for airports in Aba and Onitsha was largely treated as white elephant projects. Now that airports have been built in Owerri and Asaba which adequately serve both cities, we have people playing politics with building airports. I can bet you it's just another ploy to embezzle public funds. What happened to spending such billions on building mono rail project to make transportation around Aba and Onitsha cheap and comfortable? Or better building a petrochemical plant or independent power plant to boost the economy and create employment ?

TravelRe: My Experience In Port-harcourt Airspace & Airport Today by cjrane: 10:15pm On Nov 01, 2013
Mr Aboki: So I just got into Port Harcourt today onboard the 3pm Arik flight.

We were in Port-Harcourt Airspace by 5.00pm on the dot. But we landed by 5:50pm because we were kept in a holding parttern because of VIPs were leaving on their Jets from the Airport. Whilst we were circling the Port-Harcourt skies, I could see private jets below us jetting about. We were kept circling for 45minutes.

When we finally Landed, there were 3 private jets and 3 Helicopters prepping for take-off.

The tarmac and parking lot was lined with JTF and Mobile policemen that you would think you just landed in a war zone.

Passengers on ground at PH airport looked so angry as they had been kept waiting for their flight's because of the rukus caused Mrs. Jonathans Mothers funeral.

The Eleme axis of the East-West road that leads to Okrika where the funeral took place that has been under construction for over 8 years was finally completed just in time for the funeral.

Reports have it that Port Harcourt has been under siege this past week with certain Areas in Port Harcourt fully sealed off.

Today, I officially left the FRESH AIR train. Jonathan has just disappointed me greatly.

They spent billions of Naira for the funeral of his foster Mother in-law, yet ASUU is still on strike.

For the first time in a long while, the harsh reality of how messed up Nigeria truly is dawned on me.

Come 2015, if a better candidate presents himself, I will definitely not vote for Jonathan and his Shepopotamus of a wife.

We need more than a revolution in this country, what we need is the second coming of Jesus to just put an end to all this.
Aboki go home! You should be in Maiduguri bringing peace, instead of talking junk about another part of the country living in peace even with abokis
PoliticsRe: Who Is After Stella Oduah? by cjrane: 10:06pm On Nov 01, 2013
Some corrupt yoruba men feel the transformation of the aviation sector to make it profitable and more efficient directly threatened their strangle hold in profiting from the woes in the aviation sector.

Some less intelligent ones amongst them were recruited by psyching their hatred for Igbo, by telling them she made Akanu Ibiam intl. Airport Enugu to be truly international, which threatened Lagos intl. airport viability in their myopic mindset.

michaelok: This forum calls on the entire southeast youths to pledge their support for president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan cum 2015. We brag about the calibre of elites that has formed the backbone of this great forum.
Some might call us political sycophants but we laugh at your beclouded sense of reasoning, but let it be known and stated clearly that Goodluck Jonathan would be reelected if he chooses to run, as we so wish he does (even if it would take going on bended knees etc.)
We call on you to come onboard to make this move a greater success.
The offices are scattered on every state in the southeast. Contact the national president, Comr. Uche on 07062154872. God bless Nigeria.
As for me, i have resolved to not just vote for Pres. GEJ, I will physically fight for him this time around.
Those that wish Nigeria death have organized themselves into a group they now claim is a poilitical party. It is going to be a fight to the finish line. It is a fight to make Nigeria well again.

No work, No Pay is the best thing ever implemented in the strikes especially in the basterdized educational sector.

From the mid 1980s lecturers have become very lazy, most cannot even teach continuously for one year because they have become accustomed to always going on long strikes for 6 months or more, knowing the Government will pay them for the time they spent traveling and fooling around the world instead of teaching the students.

For once, lets be serious as a country and pay for only the time the lecturers are doing what they are being paid for.

Unlike what they had us believe initially, We now know reputable Nigerian banks were involved in the process, Car dealers in Nigeria were invited to bid for the type of equipment sought and a winner who had the capacity to supply such specialized vehicles emerged and a lease financing option was agreed upon. First down payment was made and the vehicles were ordered by the dealer and delivered to NCAA.

It is a shame how low some people can go in their calumny against the Honorable Minister of Aviation!

naijaborn001: All this Igbo pple don start again with their walaha. Why the protest? Majority of them nor even get sense before!
Because yoruba people want to get her out of her job through subterfuge and blackmail, and it will fail.
They had similarly blown hot air about her causing Agagu's plane crash, yoruba hero femi Kayode said her luck somehow made planes crash, only for forensic black box report to clearly record one pilot warning the other against take off since there were warning lights flashing.
Not even up to 2 hours after they were defeated with that agagu plane blame game, they started another accusing her of corruption in vehicles acquired for VIP dignitaries by the NCAA! You can bet they will start another trouble as soon as they have seen there is no basis for their calumny against the minister.

Yoruba can go to hell with writing crap about Igbo people in government. We have passed the stage of taking you guys seriously and it will not stop any Igbo from serving meritoriously in GEJ government! Yeye shameless people!

This is the same thing they want to use Ngige to achieve in Anambra. God will not allow the evil call APC anywhere near the Zik's Place (Anambra Govt House)grin
The worst thing is that they borrow all these money and they just pocket 50% of it and the future generation is saddled with huge debts to pay!

The same type of borrow, borrow governance they have taught Rochas, now they want to install another Ngige puppet in Anambra to start the same borrow-borrow government!

I knew when they heard Anambra was the least indebted state in Nigeria, they were going to focus on her to hand a huge debt burden on Anambra people in order to enrich themselves.

PoliticsRe: Imo Residents Protest In Support Of Oduah by cjrane(op): 7:20pm On Oct 27, 2013
cjrane: Residents of Owerri, the Imo state capital today took to the streets to protest what they described as an unfair judgement on the issue of the purchase of two armoured vehicles by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

While dismissing the allegation of corruption against the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, they insisted that the Minister should be appreciated for what she has done in the industry.

It will be recalled that the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah defended the purchase of two armoured vehicles by the NCAA after the President queried the purchase of the vehicles.

She insisted that the procurement of the two armoured BMW cars at the cost of N255 million followed due process.

According to the minister, provision was made in the 2013 budget for the procurement of the vehicles along with other specialised equipment, to complement or replace obsolete ones.

Part of Ms. Oduah’s response, says “towards the effective implementation of its statutory regulatory responsibilities, it is imperative that the NCAA is fully equipped with highly specialised tools and facilities, including adequate operational vehicles to cover all 22 national airports and over 400 airstrips.”

In addition to querying the minister, the presidency also set up a three-man administrative panel to investigate the purchase of the armoured cars.

The panel was given two weeks to submit its findings.

With the minister’s reaction, a lot may be uncovered, as already the House of Representatives has also mandated its committee on aviation to investigate the controversy surrounding the purchase of the vehicles by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) which are said to be for the Minister, as members of the committee of aviation said the committee had not approved that expenditure in the agency’s budget.

The Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Fola Akinkuotu also reacted to media reports on the circumstances surrounding the procurement of two BMW 760 LI armoured series cars by the agency after the purchase began generating so many reactions from groups and Nigerians alike.

The NCAA D.G. stated that the cars are operational vehicles used in the varied operations of the NCAA including transporting the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah and aviation-related foreign dignitaries.

He also said the purchase of the two cars which cost N255m followed due process and the NCAA remains focused on enforcing standards and promoting safety in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Yoruba people should know that their mob attack against Igbo ministers (Okonjo Iweala, Stella Oduah, Allison Madueke, Stella Otteh) will no longer be tolerated!

If Mrs Stella Oduah financially enriched herself through cars bought by NCAA, provide the evidence and if not, LEAVE HER ALONE to do her job!

It is not a crime to be Igbo in Nigeria!

Is it because bestview is telling the truth and you can't handle it?
How about Aigbofa,Agbameta and other faceless bunch?

You may like Ngige and i used to when he was in PDP, but he is not the best suited person to rule Anambra. A lot is at stake and the yoruba people that hate everything Igbo are prepared to spend their money for him, and all you sit there and tell us to take it? Look at Osun Defenders that have never written anything positive about any Igboman is Ngige's chief propaganda outfit?

I would wholeheartedly trust a British or Kenyan to rule Anambra than the Islamic yorubarized APC!
It's just too risky to put the fate of Ndigbo in the hands of people that hate us so much and wish us dead at every point in Nigeria's history.
