I feel insulted by those that lie indiscriminately and simply can't read such blatant lies. i have a problem with folks that just tell lies regardless of what the facts are. i typically couldn't read his posts anymore when he started saying northerners were investing everywhere in Anambra, Enugu, Asaba etc. I wouldn't have had issues if he just limited his opinion to saying Igbo should continue investing in the north for whatever reasons he likes. But, when people lie blatantly, i feel angry that they have wasted my time reading their long concoctions.

That Bishop42 guy truly has a way to mislead folks on issues. That dude is a very dangerously dishonest fellow. he can convince you water is wine, if you don't have your guards on.I remember when he did his skyscrapers crusade for Igboland, and conveniently based all his argument on mindset while he tactfully ignored all the realities of funding, technical know how etc.

asha80:
you type like someone that speaks from both sides of the mouth
I really don't trust that Bishop42 guy.

Just wondering aloud on what he claimed, he said northerners were investing in Asaba,Enugu, Anambra, Port harcourt etc, can he name those northern investments? This is a guy that tells whatever fantastic lie he likes without a shred of truth nor reality. Again he conveniently ignored that Igbo businesses and properties have been constant target of almajiri riots in the north. Yet Igbos own countless businesses, massive sprawling estates in the north and west. I will be glad if he can point to one decent duplex or even bungalow owned by a northerner or yoruba anywhere in Igboland.

He will not confront such hard facts, but he will come around to post some crappy, unrelated logic how Chinese invested or America or how America invested in Japan. The question is, has American or Chinese investment been looted and burned in Nigeria or elsewhere as Igbo properties in the north?......, and the Americans or Chinese stubbornly go back to the same places to rebuild them just for the same arson to be repeated over and over? The answer is NO, because they are wise. Foolish isn't Igbo.
For the avoidance of doubt, nobody says Igbo should not invest outside Igboland such as in Cameroon, Kenya, Senegal or Ghana. We are only telling our people to learn from history and chiefly avoid northern nigeria and to an extent, western Nigeria.

I have seen our people in the north argue against igbo interest because they think they are northerners, simply because they were born there.if you check closely, that guy probably lives in Sokoto or katsina as one of those Igbos that speak hausa and would have gleefully sold out their kith & kin, but for their misfortune that the north bluntly refused to accept them. Even though they were born and bred there.

I typically view their opinions with massive spoons of salt.

Actually,
Kaduna has 3 airports built by the FG not 2 as op erroneously thought.

1. Zaria airport
2. Old kaduna airport in the heart of town. used by Governors and VIPs.
3. New Kaduna international airport being used now as Kaduna domestic airport which is open to the public.

This is Enugu state, the forgotten side of the state, Nomeh Unateze in Nkanu east. This is the best roads here, repaired by me. I bought labour, filled up sand bags and placed in both sides of the road at the peak of the rainy season. This road was impassable then.
One day, this injustice will be addressed.
Great work spyder, God bless you.

I was just wondering about talking to the community this dry season to contribute a little so that the usual bad portions are paved with stones and cement. In that way, although the road is generally untarred, those bad portions will be easily motorable in the rainy seasons

God willing, very soon they will connect 3-3 area to Anam ultramodern city with this type of Bridge. Then plan the place to have the best ultramodern business district, hotels etc in the south east.

People like Emeka Offor, Arthur Eze,Obijackson etc will be invited to build highrise complexes and 5 star hotels in the area.
With the boldness of Awka flyovers and other Obiano bridges, Only a Governor that thinks like Obiano would understand such bold ideas as kick starting the Anam ultra modern city as the hub of corporate business in the SE zone.

Once the area is mapped out and a development master-plan created, like the Greenwood estate and the bridge is built to create a close access into Onitsha is constructed.

The private sector can develop the place based on the masterplan. For too long, we have lacked such great leaders that think boldly and strategically.
Exactly where we need the bridge connecting Onitsha-Otuocha road.

Part of the reason Igbo is disrespected is that we shout that we want to go, yet as we speak right now, our people are building multiple duplexes in kwankwasiya estate in kano and other areas of the far north and west!!!

Meanwhile, even the ab0ki labourers are saying "kai, this Igbo Oga is very foolish to be investing all his money here, knowing our people will burn it or kill him and take his possessions"
Anyhow, let every man make his decisions in life. However, he should be brave enough to blame ONLY himself and shoulder the consequences of his stupidity.

One of the reasons i respect Nnewi people so much is that they took most of their investments to their town and transformed it into a manufacturing powerhouse. By the way, i also travel now through AIIA, Enugu.

I perfecly understood the point you were making bro but I was trying to point out that the city is already expanding on the areas that does not have inhibition of river/stream for now. There was a private investor workng on anamcity but I don't know what's up about it till. I totally agree with you that there is every need to do the bridge across the river into anamcity, at least 2 bridges which might not even be half the long of the one being being at Oil rig/Otuocha. Obiano should do the damn bridge A.S.A.P if Onitsha is to become the megacity out of the East that can stand side by side with other Nigerian mega cities.
@ bolded, Exactly what i am saying.lol...

It will create a new area on Anambra coastline which we can develop a totally modern CBD similar to Eco-Atlantic etc. Instead of wasting time and resources demolishing old structures inside the current Onitsha town.

We can create an entirely new, well planned modern city on Anambra coastline if we simply built that bridge.
That new city will be the modern Dubai of Anambra, with highrise buildings, 5 star hotels, golf courses etc. Not to talk about the residential part of the area

I am tired to be frank with you. I spend most of my time writing letters upon letters seeking the attention of these men to the benefits of investing in the region. some of these men think i am a fraudster sef. these men should understand that the eastern region is a strategic location for business and pleasure. a region close to almost all geopolitical zones with at most 2hours to the different zones. the east is the only zone that can make their product felt in all the regions at thesame time unlike lagos where the best will be picked from lagos, next ogun, oyo, and crumbs other parts of the country. the east can give you the same quality at the same time and the same rate.

invest home and let visitors feel your hot air.

Sometimes it is sooooooooo hard to find new areas in Igbo cities EXCEPT Enugu and to a small extent Owerri.Where Independence Layout Phase II and Egbeada ares have been opened.

If Pope had never visited Onitsha in 1982, there would be nothing like Awada because that area will also not be opened.
Our Governors just want Onitsha, Aba to remain in the same exact spot they have been since 1900. No real effort to open up new areas around those cities. Lack of opening up Onitsha is what is making Asaba grow and same for Aba vs. PH.

I have even sent mails to different people to make this known to them. I will be attending the end of the year party of my town tomorrow and I will try and plead to them to allow me speak to them and let them see more reasons why they should come back and leave this place before they start dishing out policies that will block our businesses from booming.

to be sincere, igbos are very stubborn set of people.
Yes, Igbos are very very stubborn and the least strategic group in Nigeria. The Igboman does not learn from things around him, until he personally experience the bitter experience. Then he is twice cautious.
Igbos are very hardworking, and therefore have no time to consider politics or intrigues. They base every decision on business, which is indeed childishly tragic. What sense does it make to build a multi-million dollar groundnut process industry in kano simply because it will cost less to transport the raw materials to the factory, then you lose the entire factory to arson by an irate group of almajiris demonstrating against the cartooning of Prophet Mohammed in Denmark? Although not every advise is wise, but the continuous investment in all those parts of Nigeria by our people has become an unfortunate stupidity on their part. Our people think if they take your advice, it is a mark of their our stupidity.

Sometimes, it takes tragic things like Boko haram to get the average Igboman to reason clearly. That is why i stopped grieving when they suffer those huge losses elsewhere in Nigeria because they require such tragic experience in order to reason properly.

Our people are better off investing in Senegal or Liberia than investing in hostile northern or western Nigeria.

One thing I hope Rochas or subsequent Imo governors should do is to like Owerri roads with trees. With the Lagos vibe that Owerri exudes, we need some sorta protection from the surging sun.

We also need to expand Owerri beyond its limits. Let thebnew Owerri extend to areas such as Obosimma in Ohaji and places like Ogbako. Owerri definitely has prospects. We just need to think bigger.
It is amazing that semi arid north like Dutse with very little rainfall or even Abuja understand the importance of trees, but our people don't.
Apart from aesthetics and its effect on ensuring clean air and good health, trees also help control erosion
Planting trees to line our streets is one thing we have been pleading for a long time.Using palm or pine trees along Owerri streets will transform the city. But, it is almost like pleading to a chicken to urinate.

I'm happy for the different developments in my state and I am also in high spirit because my mum just came back from anambra state to Lagos after staying there for 3months. My mum did not want to come back home to us oooo!!!! shocked we had call and beg the woman to listen to the cries of her children that her recipe is missing in our stomach.

these are what she told me based on what i told her to research on before coming back to lagos:

1. She said that many anambraians are rushing home to build and that the place we are staying in awka is already filled with houses bought and built by some rich guys in Obodo-Igbo. she said I should advice anyone who wants to buy land to rush and buy now that these men dont have joy with the large expanse of land they are buying. To be sincere, I need to start saving before i will start renting 3bedroom flat in my fatherland now. maka ihe neme kita dikwa serious.

2. She said the major reason why she didnt want to come to lagos is the peace and serenity of the environment, unlike the busy and dusty environment she will expose herself to in lagos. she buttressed her point with the fact that there is enough electric power and close access to our indigenous food with indigenous hand making it. the air is free from CO2.

3. She said that the environment where we stay in awka is undergoing renovation and our village have tarred basically because the village links to another major road. in all, she said that many people are coming back home especially in the north for their safety, so they are trying to build and do businesses in the east.

4. she said she went for a thanksgiving mass in a village close to ekwulobia (cant remember now). the place is funny sha. they were giving bags of rice to the priest. she asked the people there why rice? or they did not hear that the price of rice in the market is over 10thousand naira. they told her that they plant rice in their farms and its easier to get rice than the normal cocoyam in the village. My mum was shocked that things were happening and she didnt know that things have really changed in the east.

5. i told her that we only get oil from the riverine areas of the state. she looked at me and said that my cousin's wife father is collecting indigene money in Nri village for the oil been explored in that region. I am not too sure about this info but i think she might be right.

I, as an anambraian in face and in attitude hereby tell everyone that I am proud of my state. I am also warning other anambraians out there to please be quick in your decision-making to build and invest home because our brothers who left the north will end up renting an apartment for you when u get home.

thanks and God bless.
Our people should leave the north and never return there.
What has baffled me much is that many of them don't even have good businesses, so why go to the north to do manual labour?
You can very well do it, work on a rice farm or ride keke in our own land. Why must you go so far as the north to sell vegetables?

Our Governors and town planning people should build those little bridges over those streams in order to open up new layouts. It is shocking when you see a tiny stream separating a virgin territory from an over congested place. Just because nobody wants to sacrifice any penny of his for the general good, by building the culvert over the stream for public use.

Trees are very important not just aesthetically, they purify the air and helps us stay healthy longer.

Didn't want to post Uyo library to buttress Igboson's point, but even looking at this picture of Oraifite compound. Why is it beautiful?

Definitely because effort was made to plant trees and grass in the environment.
Many of us that liked that picture won't even notice that it is the effect of the trees and grass on the environment that they were admiring, not necessarily the house itself. grin

THE COMMISSIONING OF WORLD CLASS OBIJACKSON CHILDREN HOSPITAL. (PEDIATRIC)

Yesterday 21, Nov, 2015 will forever be remembered in History.
It will told to our children yet unborn, that it was Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi aka (Obijackson) the Okija born oil magnate, The Chairman of Nest Oil and (Obijackson Group) that brought this succour to the helpless families in Nigeria who could not send their children oversea when deadly sickness tries to steal them away.
It will be surprising to learn that this monumental Hospital is situated in Okija, Ihiala LGA Anambra State, the East of the Niger, wherefore our mummies and daddies will not have to worry anymore over the distance of where to get such facilities.
OBiJackson should get some foreign doctors to run the place at international standard. our local doctors are so used to dilapidated hospitals, they will run it down so quickly into another government hospital where nothing works. Our local doctors dont even know how to use half of those modern equipment, because they dont exist in the government hospitals where they became doctors.
I know a very modern hospital in Lagos where a rich patient donated a washing machine and a dryer for them. Those are still wrapped in the carton and stored up because nobody knows how to use a washing machine and dryer. Thus patients bedsheets and clothes are still washed by hand by hospital staff!

Even doctors from India to do some specialized surgery and run the place is a very good idea.

stickncarrot:
Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the sultan of Sokoto has expressed worry over the growing agitation for an independent Biafra state championed by some Igbo people and promised that a delegation from the northern traditional council will be sent to Igbo leaders to meet on the issue.

The reports informs that the sultan raised this concern at the second general assembly of the Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council which held in Kaduna on Monday, November 23.

The Sultan who is the chairman of the council noted that there were millions of Igbo people living and doing business in their states peacefully and helping the economy to grow. He said millions of Igbo people were against the agitation for an independent state and that a delegation would be sent so that peace would reign.

“We are very much concerned about this issue because we know we have millions of millions of Igbos residing with us in our homes, in our towns, in our states, very peacefully, very industrious, helping our communities and our economy to grow and so many of them as we know, keep telling us that they have nowhere else to live than where they are presently living.

“Since we have this coordination with millions and millions of them, what is happening now is a thing of concern to us and we believe we should look at this issue and most likely set up a small committee of senior traditional rulers to go to South-East and engage our brothers there (traditional rulers) so that we will know how we can come in to stop this agitation.”

He applauded Igbo leaders who were against the separation and that the agitation must be totally condemned.

He said: “We believe in dialogue, whatever the problem is with anybody, we believe we should sit down and discuss and a solution will be found.”

Meanwhile, Chief Bode George, a former deputy national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party has warned that it will be disastrous for Nigeria to experience another civil war noting that no country had ever survived two civil wars.

http://watchdognews.net/sultan-finally-speaks-on-biafra-agitation/
My dear Sultan,
i think your delegation will achieve more if they were sent to Buhari to stop his anti-igbo agenda.

The agitation for Biafra had always been there, but with a tiny minority of people. Buhari simply convinced an overwhelming majority of Igbos that they aren't wanted in nigeria as citizens because they voted for his opponent in an election. Who has ever punished northerners for voting a fellow northerners in any election in nigeria?

As long as Igbos are treated as non-Nigerians and their area is discriminated against in the infrastructural development of Nigeria, nothing will stop Biafra from gaining its independence.

I think Oremi22 is 100% right.

It doesn't have to be yorubaland, even though it is indeed part of the alien territories our people have continued to bury their life savings.

I read the use of the name "Dangote" as a metaphor. I understand it to mean even the wealthiest blackman on planet earth, known for investing every where else in the world has wisely kept his investments out of Igboland that he considers enemy territory. I doubt there are any hausa or Yoruba man that has a hut in Igboland, yet Igbos are "wisely" exposing all their wealth in hausa and yorubaland for their enemies to easily target, convert or destroy.

Any Igbo person even a tenth as rich as Dangote, would have bought all the land in Kano,Kaduna,Sokoto, Abuja, lagos and Osogbo.

That museum and Igbo gallery should be developed into a top tourist attraction containing our native utensils, music instruments, ceremonial masks, masquerades costume, hunting tools, farming tools and a little narrative on our big ceremonies as the new yam festival or Ofalla festivals etc. We should create at least 7 top tourist sites around Enugu where a typical tourist visiting for 7 days can visit and not be bored visiting Enugu.

Obi is not the main problem. Some of his supporters are. Even when it is clear that the said N75b was not cash, they took to facebook and other social media platforms proclaiming the almighty N75b which Willie Obiano has allegedly squandered and even daring Gov. Willie Obiano to speak upif they were not saying the truth. Then the Gov. stated the true position and added that he also inherited ongoing contract liabilities of N186b and all hell was let loose.

All discerning Anambrarians should not also be surprised about the size of the ongoing contract liabilities because we know the frenzy with which contracts were awarded during the 2013 guber campaign (which actually worked in favour of APGA and Willie Obiano) and also towards the end of the last administration.

It is left for God to decide Peter Obi's political future in Nigeria. We all pray for the best for him for the general interest of Ndigbo but he must tell call his misguided supporters to order. All these fight at home aint doing his image no good. You cant spend 8 years as governor and then be fighting a 20 months old Governor as if you and him na mate, do you want to contest for governor again?
i am not ashamed to call myself a peter obi supporter, but this needless quarrel with the incumbent governor is going to cost him dearly unless he quickly grows some common sense and retrace his steps.

Peter Obi should learn from GEJ that has quietly stayed out of Buhari's way and allowed Buhari to execute his programs the way he sees fit, without unnecessary quarrels. Even when Buhari said the treasury was empty.

If peter Obi attempts to act like the Obasanjo of Anambra state, that must tutor others on how they must rule, after he completed his own 8 years tenure without undue interference, he will live to regret why he took such silly action

Few weeks after he handed over to Obiano, Obi himself confessed his N75 billion was not liquid cash but some investments he made for Anambra over his 8 years tenure.

i am hoping Peter Obi will retrace his steps quickly from this path of self destruction.

Obiano is still respecting him, that is why he has not exposed some serious corruption scandal under Obi to EFCC.

I am actually fed up with the Nigerian experiment but what can we do. We have f.ools in power and results are mountain of misplaced priorities. These demons are pumping billions into a venture that's not even viable....It hurts my soul that we a stuck with these nothern cow brains. Yet I don't want our youths losing their lives on Biafra matter...We are even in deeper mess than we thought.
We have no alternative than Biafra.

The north having seen that our eyes are now opened to the cheating will intensify using nigeria's wealth to build power plants, huge farms and explore natural resources to make them prosperous when Nigeria breaks up. Things will actually get worst with time because northerners are simply going to try and fast pace the rate they have been exploiting nigeria, while yorubas will be by the side playing all sorts of distraction games just to get us not to focus on what is really going on.

One of the reasons why I don’t support groups such as MASSOB or IPOB is not because I don’t think Igbos or any group for that matter have the right for self-determination. My only worry is the mode through which this is carried out. The truth is that the Biafran dream will remain a pipe dream if the initiators go about it the way they are currently. Apart from the fact that they are not going about it the right way by appealing to those that matter in Igboland and taking their case to the United Nations (UN), the most embarrassing disposition that they have created is one of forcing people who have not given their consent to be included in the Biafran agenda.

The fact that most of the areas known as the Niger Delta were naturally part of the old eastern region and as such were naturally part of the Biafran agitation in the 60s does not mean the same thing holds today. The divide and rule tactics has worked and anybody that can’t see it needs to go for an eye checkup. I’m tired of this whole “We are not Igbo, we are Edo”, “Our ancestors ate Igbo yam and that is why we are Igbo” or the opposing views that portray such desperate disposition that could be mistaken as Hitler’s intended conquering of Europe.

Igbos should fight for their rights and their only. Let’s stop this “SS and SE” BS. This people have oil for Bleep sake. Leave them the heck alone. They don’t want to have anything to do with you. I wonder why you can’t see that. They probably hate you more than the Hausas and the Yorubas that you see as your arch rivals. You have nothing to offer them, so leave them the heck alone.

In my mind, I even think it will make more sense for Igbos to align with other major groups and not minorities. These minorities don’t care about you. They see you as a land grabber. It doesn’t matter whether their names are the same as yours, their mode of thinking and vision is different, so it will serve you well if you focus on your SE affairs and stop romancing people that don’t want to be romanced.

If you are really passionate about getting Biafra whether or not it comes with oil or seaport then you must present your Biafran case as the SE alone. Don’t even include the Asaba area, atleast for now. Present your case as the war ravaged SE that no one can benefit from and the powers that be may change their kind and give it to you. But as long as you keep romancing oil, those Abuja people will not mind being Niger Delta’s father Christmas by sending gun wielding soldiers to teach you a bitter lesson for the second time. A word is enough for the wise.
I am from Aboh, and our people are as Biafran as our kith and kin over the Niger.
Don't be deceived by Yoruba propaganda. Only Yorubas vaguely try to disguise themselves as "South-south" people in order to write those things you have wholeheartedly said comes from Niger Delta. if Yorubas can claim to be in Ondo state, which has Ijaw land in it, why should Igbo people not at least include Igbo speaking territories? Igbos outside the SE know that if by omission or commission, the SE leaves Nigeria without them, then they are finished. Nigeria will oppress them worse than they are doing to Igbos now and they will be too small to do anything about it.

Why do you think Murtala Mohammed murdered civilians in Asaba but not in Benin or Warri?
Mind you, Asaba was not part of Biafra territory in 1967, it was legally administered by Nigeria. Do you think Mohammed didn't know Asaba people were Igbos even if they were called citizens of Mid-western Nigerians and not included in the area referred to as Biafra ?

Your enemy isn't stupid. Forget their propaganda and divide & rule. They know Igbo is Igbo, even if they are located outside the contigous region they named SE .
