investnow2013:Good development. One hopes they plan the estate very well with modern amenities and make sure the road is paved. Even if the have to use interlocking stones to do it properly. Awka would have been such an awesome city if they had just for a split second paused to plan it.In fact, Awka and Abuja would have been the most beautiful cities in Nigeria if they had spared just one minute to plan its layouts properly. Our people have this belief that once you build a nice house, even if the house has no parking garage or is sitting on a gutter, it's the same effect if the house were properly situated in a well planned house zone such as in most Abuja layouts or even Independence layout or Zoo estate. Anyhow, i have since stopped taking government folks seriously until i see evidence they are serious. I remember rejoicing to high heaven when Peter Obi about 4 years ago launched Greenwood estate Awka claiming 4,000 houses will be built and blah blah blah. SEE: http://dailyindependentnig.com/2012/07/anambra-to-build-4000-houses/ I later heard the land had not even be secured, talkmore of the money nor planning the estate. Obiano seems to be a more serious man though. But, i will rejoice when i see it. |
ENEMIESENEMY:We have been withdrawing and redesigning money from 1960, yet we are poorer today as a people than in 1960. I wonder how many times the british or Americans or japanese have changed their currency. Only Nigeria and Ghana are notorious for changing their currency. Simply speaks volumes of the archaic practice of printing money and changing the color every few years. |
^^^^^^^^^^^ Dont trust what he says. Great Ideas VickJames! Thanks for sharing your great thoughts here. |
warrior01:if you set exams between a human being and a monkey, you'd expect the human being to score higher than the monkey right? I hope that answers your question. |
Oya, the yoruba haterz will soon land and decimate this thread with schools under a tree or in a boat. ![]() Meanwhile congrats to the folks that have been doing a fabulous job! |
NAIJASOM:I am not one of those that engage in arguments simply for the sake of it. So. i won't indulge in fruitless arguments. You have made some sensible points, as well as wild assumptions presuming Nigeria will be afraid of ecowas laws or Nigeria will stand idly by and allow you to go home with your money. I can tell you right now they will change the color of the local currency, and prohibit the handling of foreign currency and call it money laundering. Banks will be forbidden from transferring any money to igboland and with the new currency change implemented, all your nairas will suddenly become useless former currency which isn't a legal tender. That is just a tip of measures you can expect immediately. The second wild assumption is that hausa and yoruba will play fairly and stand idly by and watch you dominate the economy as you believe you will. You also forgot that he that controls political power, can even cut his nose to spite his own face. Buhari's currency restrictions even with JP Morgan's dropping of the Nigerian bond in protest which is hurting the economy, has not bothered Buhari to drop his archaic economic policy. Point i'm trying to make here is that steps will be taken to specifically frustrate you economically even if damages the Nigerian economy. |
NAIJASOM:I fervently hope that you are right. I live in lagos, so i have serious doubts based on how our people are buying up and building up this whole place. Our people typically always "know it all". ...........Eze onye agwanam Nobody wants to listen to voice of reason or being strategic before a looming dangerous event actually occurs. Many great Igbo including the late Ikemba have clamored on these folks to plan ahead and actually think seriously about the need to support a similar market like ladipo or idumota in SE, even if he does not wholly want to leave Lagos or elsewhere yet. But when his shop in ladipo is suddenly demolished just to ruin his life simply because he is Igbo, he learns the hard way, but then it's too late to divest because he had been successfully pauperized. Believe me, common sense isn't common. |
spyder880:Oga Spyder, You guys into property development have within your powers to change the types of conducive environment available in the SE, starting with a small estate at a time. I am pleading with you to convince those buying land in your estate to commit to having a great neighborhood like in the picture below, apart from having a conducive home of their own. using interlocking stones to pave the streets with gutters on both ends of each street should be part of the estate development plan. A great environment isn't really about building multi-storey buildings as Hillbrow, South Africa. Willow0802 is actually right. Those skyscrapers make it harder to renew a city once demographics change and income fall. Also remember what happened to Detroit because GM almost got bankrupt. That is part of the genius of Abuja. They banned any building higher than 12 floors. Having a clean functional and green neighborhood is the genius people like Spyder must teach our people, so that we don't repeat the mistakes of these urban jungles elsewhere. Even if the structures are bungalow, if they are well planned, it helps improve the ambiance of the city and reduces crime. If even bungalows are well designed and effort is made to make the environment modern, they may be even better than multi-storey building. I am not saying duplexes or well designed office buildings isn't great

investnow2013:Just remaining to plan our cities and implement the master plan. Our old habit of refusing to plan cities must be rejected totally. |
stinggy:The fulani nomads will simply use the poisoned beef for kilishi and suya, extending the same poison and the same fate of the cows to innocent people that eat the meat. ![]() |
Aboki ekwanomic team are busy using wrecking Nigerian economy. The dulllard says he is going to be the finance minister because all other Nigerians except fulanis are kwarropt. Na dem sabi. Wetin concern me? they should kill nigeria faster. |

shaboti:If landlords could afford N500,000K, they should have simply used interlocking stones to build their roads and put gutters on both sides. It will last forever, instead of waiting for the elusive government.

Now the sons of vagabonds will infest this thread with venom. As if they count for anything useful in this world |
ezeagu:Lame excuse. But they will relocate to Abuja and kano to build castles, but leave Warri and Sapele that have ports! that is why it gbastas me not , when they kill them and burn their buildings up north. Na dem sabi. BTW, What Ports does Austria or Switzerland have? yet, their people have invested there and made it a prosperous place? In the past, i used to beg people to be wise so they won't pay the price for stupidity, i have since learnt the better approach is to allow them to be stupid and pay the price for it, then they will naturally learn to be wise by the bitter experience |
spyder880:Poultry and fish farms are big time money spinners for those that know how to manage the birds to prevent infections. I am glad our people are buying into it. i just hope we go the step further to begin setting up cold rooms to bag up the processed chicken in a good labelled bag and be able to transport it cheaply to distant markets outside the farm area. Even if they need to come together as cooperatives to build cold room storage so that they can jointly share the cost. This will indeed be the game changer for poultry and fish farmers. Finding a way to preserve the fully grown chicken without feeding it is the secret to profit in the business. possible suggestions are; 1. Bag the whole chicken and deep freeze it in a freezer 2. Slice the chicken into parts and sell at meat markets or supermarkets 3. Use flour to make chicken nuggets and then freeze it and supply to supermakets. Homes only have to buy the bags and fry it a little to have hot sizzling chicken nuggets. 4. Make fagitas (Chicken Suya) and then bag it and freeze it up. Then sell to supermarkets. People will buy it and put in their oven briefly to have a sizzling well cooked Chicken suya at home when they want it. All these suggestions will grow the down chain processing, reduce waste while setting up different agro based factories.

Propaganda rubbish. The dulllard just shared money to APC states trying to lie to everyone about what is really going on. Where is the SOURCE |
All that needs to happen is to fight for freedom. I just plead that 3 key useful weapons must be procured in very vast quantities, not just AK47. 1. Anti aircraft guns to be mounted on pickup trucks 2. Anti tank guns and RPGs should be ubiquitous before we talk about rifles. 3. two man mortar Arms does not mean simply buying AK47s. I really don't think Nigeria will ever be a country. There is no need postponing the evil day. I believe people should donate more for procurement of weapons now. let those that believe it is their birth right to oppress Igbos come and meet us in the battlefield. All these internet talk is a complete waste of time. |
Shebi all these is because those regions voted for PDP? I wonder who punished the north for voting ANPP,CPC and APC since 1999. We shall see how far the north can get with these brazen acts of violence against sections of Nigeria. Time is truly running out on Nigeria and the people shall soon react against oppression. |
How does that concern me? In a typical janjaweeed's mind, any industry not in their state isn't supposed to succeed because it is not in "Naigerea". Let it shrink to the size of Burundi, isn't that what they all want? |
OreMI22:@ the bolded, I used to argue against IPOD or massob demanding freedom of our land from Fulani and yoruba control and wicked manipulation. I regret to say all my arguements against IPOD and Massob were naive, unfounded and unfortunate. The best option for Ndigbo is to freely govern ourselves and truly plan the development of our country as every real country would do.Except Nigeria where you have a certain part plotting day and night how to underdeveloped another part of the same country! Yet scream "one Naigeria" at the top of their lungs while doing it! People talk about oil, yet although we have oil in Igboland, it is fulani and Yoruba that have used all sorts of systems to corner the whole wealth. For example, If you used other African countries without oil to compare where Igboland would have been even without oil, you will find that although Igbos were more industrious and innovative than say Congo brazaville, Cameroon or DRC, brazaville or Douala or Kinshasha is still much more developed than any part of igboland. Then compare northern Nigeria with other nearby countries that are more hardworking, prudent and sensible than a typical northern Nigerian, you will find that Sokoto,Kano,Kaduna, maiduguri, katsina, Dutse, bauchi not to mention Abuja are all more advanced than Ndjamena,Chad, Niamey, Niger, Ouagadougou, Burkina faso or Bamako, mali. It tells you that northern Nigerians have used Nigeria to improve themselves while making sure other zones remain disadvantaged being in Nigeria. |
BuddahMonk:Wooing PRIVATE INVESTORS to establish companies at Emene Industrial layout by creating tax incentives and tarring access roads into the industrial estates as well as making land acquisition easier is the best way to industrialize Enugu. AVOP was established the same time as Life vegetable oil, AVOP is since bankrupt while life is still making profit because it is a PRIVATE company. AVOP should be sold out-rightly to private investors. The more government wastes funds rehabilitating industries it is not in any shape to run, the worst we are repeating the same mistakes of the past which we should have learnt from by now. |
ifeanyi199555:The whole of Dutse is the size of New haven area of Enugu. |
basilo101:.. That has been exactly the bane of Nigerian nationhood. The north used the period of military rule to award herself all sorts of population number and has been collecting a lion share of the federation allocation based on the fraudulent numbers. But, wetin concern me? i am happy they are collecting it because they are largely cheating the south doing so.. The southsouth balances out with the 13% derivation, the southeast has since removed its hope from federal allocation, the southwest apart from Lagos and Ondo are in serious quagmire. they don't know if they should challenge their masters or should keep quiet and continue enduring the molestation as long as Igbos are also disadvantaged by the formula. That is why igbos must focus on their region now and stop bleeding Igboland of resources to go and pay for stores or some investment in the SW or north. If igbos must do business outside their zone, let us emulate Dangote and invest in other AFRICAN COUNTRIES instead of these regions of Nigeria that hate Igbo for no reason. Something like Obi Jackson's tower in lagos, he could have built in Accra, Nairobi or Angola. That is if he absolutely refuses to build it in the center of Enugu, Owerri, Onitsha or Asaba. It is because of such tactless stupidity as this that Yorubas and hausa keep threatening Igbo that they will confiscate their property in those regions. Yet, Igbos still stupidly continue building in those places to give them even more things to confiscate.

Igbonazy:Please what part of igboland is Akwa? |
The emphasis should be on creating a truly modern market space in a large virgin land with a lot of room for expansion. Not just another shoddy Nigerian market.
|
asha80:They wise ones are seeing through APC's plans to pauperize them and taking evasive action to retain their business. it won't stop especially the northerners to try and ruin Nigeria's economy even if they think it will hurt Igbo businesses more. They just don't care about the prosperity of Nigerian economy, so long as they can hurt Igbo in the process of destroying Nigerian economy. I just weep for a few money miss roads igbo businessmen like Obi Jackson investing his hard earned money in places where people intensely hate him for accident of his birth place. I am only waiting to see how they will try and bankrupt him with heavy taxes as soon as his VI building is completed. Some of our people are truly senseless.
