Poverty and penury is not holiness. To feed your stereotype, pastors don't have to be stinky and beggarly. How do I accept their message if they don't look admirable.

The number one thing that makes it difficult to pray is sin. Sin separates us from God and makes it difficult to relate with him. So, I'll advice you to examine your conscience to see if u r living an ungodly lifestyle.
However, when it seems hard to pray, just acknowledge the greatness of God and thank him for his goodness. Playing and meditating upon a gospel song that expresses your feelings is another way to speak to God.

MrMystrO: I believe there is A cause, An ultimate cause of All Things to exist which we Cannot Explain but is very visible if you study the natural World and eventually the universe as a whole. Religion is NOT finding this cause but an Attempt to find this cause. Most of the religions we have today are attempts of Men who lived thousands of years ago to explain this cause with the Limited knowledge they Had and they tried to the best of their understanding like they always did, to explain things which were beyond them. But then The world Moves in an evolutionary circle. Everything, including the knowledge of Man evolves and so Things that were once considered "Permanent Truths" today might not be seen the same way 1000 years from now, eg. back then people thought the earth was flat, and that the sun revolves around the earth and everyone believed this to be True when in reality, they knew almost absolutely nothing about the way our solar system works. But they had questions and needed to answer them one way or another and so they "Tried". At the end of the day, You are free to search for "Your Truth" Depending on the level of Evolution of your Mind. So if people have found peace in Christianity or any other religion, i believe we should let them be to follow the path they choose, As everyone cannot be on the same stage of Soul Evolution. Your understanding which u have explained above is your religion. The only difference between u and Christians is that you do not follow 'organised religion'. |

MrMystrO: I am not a Christian neither do i belong to any Religion whatsoever, but i do believe Religion is still an absolute necessity For a lot of people, especially those from Third world countries like Nigeria! Yes, and here's why i think so: : I am a deist, or theist at best, But contrary to my previous beliefs, i don't think our people, that is, ordinary Nigerians are Ready for the Raw undiluted truths about Reality and Life just yet. Religion was designed by a Group of Extremely smart men as a Tool for General mental slavery for the masses by playing on the mind of the individual, Providing them with easy answers to the most fundamental questions we ask as humans, Thereby keeping them all away from seeking further truths, and instead more concerned about other less complex things. The Truth is that this has really helped in keeping the masses in a tightly controlled state and also helped avoid the chaos that would occur if people discovered the real truths about Reality and Life itself. I do think the decline of Religion is inevitable and someday, our future generations to come will look back and laugh at how stupid we were for actually Believing some of the most unrealistic, extremely obvious fables man has ever known, and still claim to be advanced people. But That is still a long way to come and as for now, people especially in countries like Nigeria don't need to know the Raw truths just yet, Imagine a Murderer or a kidnapper,or a robber or rapist eventually turning to an atheist?? Doesn't sound too Nice right? What will be the inner force that will torment their conscience after committing Horrible acts? Some people haven't developed stable minds up to this time, to be able to act Right and possess good moral standards without religion just yet. So most people still need Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed and the rest in their lives for now before they can talk about moving on to deeper truths. So contrary to my previous beliefs that we as a people need to be free from Religious slavery, I now realize that Religion is absolutely necessary to Help maintain Order in the Society so for now, Daddy freeze should let Christians and other people practicing their various religions to be. This is my own take on this issue. How can u be a theist without being religious? Once you believe in God you will certainly find a way to reach him, that finding him is what religion is |

At the meeting, which lasted for about five hours, were more than 70 eminent politicians drawn from all the states in the South-West.
The purpose of the meeting, Sunday Tribune gathered, was to inform the former president of the aim of the group and seek his elderly advice.
The former leader used the occasion of the visit to bare his mind on the debate of the possible emergence of a third force, as the march towards 2019 general election progressed.

4. That Catholics worship images
Well, there are a lot of statues that can be seen around and within a Catholic Church. One thing is certain however, No priest will ever tell u to give them worship. The statues basically help to remind us of what they depict. Nobody goes to the Church to worship any statue there but to pray and offer worship to Yahweh through his son Jesus Christ. I will explain it this way, when a Catholic enters a Catholic church and sees the statue of St. Michael the archangel, with Angel Michael holding a sword and crushing the satan under his feet, he/she immediately is reminded of the defeat of satan as recorded in scriptures. He therefore connects with the scripture even before opening the Bible. |

The answer to this is that Catholics are generally not hypocritical, they are more practical in their faith. It is not those that shout Lord Lord that will necessary be justified |

2. That Catholics don't read the Bible.
Another false claim. Everyday at Mass passages are read from the Bible and one of them must be from the Gospel i.e one of the first four books of the New Testament. However, the Church does not depend on the written word alone but also on tradition. It must also be noted that there cannot be a contradiction between the written word and tradition. The critics of this must realize that the Bible is a product of tradition. I will explain this if anyone argues against it |
Christianity Etc › Entering The Mind Of A Traditional Catholic by clefstone(op): 10:20pm On Oct 24, 2017 |
I have come to realise that most of those that bash the Catholic Church's teachings know very little about the Catholic Church and what a practicing Catholic believe. I, as a life-long Catholic will try to correct some misconceptions here
1. The believe that Catholics elevate Mary to and above the place of Christ. This one is straightforward false and you just need to attend a Catholic Mass to disprove the above notion. The most important celebration in the Catholic Church is the Holy Mass. The Mass is 100 percent Christ Focus. The Mass is actually a prayer of the faithfuls to God while offering Christ as the victim. He is both the victim and priest. We believe that the Mass is the greatest prayer because when God sees the Christ offered he pardons and answers just like he passed over when he saw the blood of the unblemished lamb on the door post of the isrealites. The entire teaching of the Catholic Church is summarized thus; Jesus Christ born of the virgin Mary died to save mankind. Catholics spend 40days reflecting on Christ's ultimate sacrifice during lent(we preach Christ and him crucified). Yes, Catholics rever Mary but never above Jesus. Mary's greatness comes from her important association with Christ, she therefore derives her greatness from Christ. She is the God bearer, Mother of God, the Ark of the covenant, the greatest woman that has ever lived(blessed are you amongst women and blessed is the fruit of your womb), she therefore shares in the blessing of Christ. As an analogy, I would love readers to imagine that it prophesied that Jesus will be born again by a girl in Nigeria, imagine the reverence that you will give to that girl. |
