kkonsults: The Existing Structure and Proposed Design. No image shown sir. How did u check the strength of the foundation and other works on ground already. Is the client the original builder or it was bought as carcass? |

pmil: Hmm...@ Engr. Cleric...lol!Lol...I am no engr. but an accountant. However, on nairaland everyone seems to be an engr. ![]() Neways, I think you misconstrued me. I was very impressed with segcymoor's response which was why I gave him a cookie. I was also impressed with his last two posts which elaborated how serious he takes structural design. More so, I am impressed with the fact that despite spending close to 13mil on the foundation alone, the project is expected to be completed with 40 million and sold for 50 million. I am one of those looking up to God so I am the engr and supervisor of my project. I come to nairaland to learn. By the grace of God, my project is already at the roofing stage.

Aventures: This land is not regular in shape, considering its area in square meter, it is about a plot.Good progress. |
mufutau55: Thanks. I have received it and I must say the price is very, very affordable.. very nice price.Noted but do let us know how neat their fixing job was. |
Onuokwu: That gate house looks like an executive BQ. Na gate man go dey there or is it meant for rent?My broda, I tire o . |

azimibraun: There will be an appeal and also most likely not a single Dollar in cash will be given to the Woman(widow) bt its a fact she went to court and won her case. Naija ppl don dey already look hw if na dem, na poster straight. " Widow for President". because with that amount of money you can confidently invest in Nigeria's presidency win the election and steal $1thrillion dollars in return on investement.

segcymoor: Anyway, the guy made mention that the foundation may crack as a result of not using hardcore unless the over site conctrete is thick. segcymoor: 250 mm depth ground slab considering expected load.Very good job. Thumbs up. I am especially impressed with the job done at the estimated cost of delivery. |
segcymoor: Hello cleric, I guess you expect me to respond to this. Please do study the tread as I have already attend to it.No sir, I was actually giving you a cookie but earlier on,the system refused to quote you in full so i had to paste all your comments. Hence it is now your full response. |
segcymoor: Good job Segun, my only observation was that your foundation @ the DPC level does not include hardcore which may likely result to crack in the ground floor flab. Except if the foundation thickness is adequate enough. yong_noble: Hello Segcy.moor segcymoor: ....Good observation, in the first I refer u to critics in my other project just rounded up. Unlike u, the guy ask why I did nt use hardcore(there, I used only reinforecement but no hardcore) However,if you observe the level of casting of d Ground beam, u will see those concrete caster did nt cast to acceptable level, some place ve 300mm above d concrete and according to Structural details, we may cast within 150mm to 200mm. I need to pity the client hence use Hardcore to make up but that doest reduce slab thickness. Bros, I tell u, I ve never spent money like this on foudation(13m) we use pure imported iron throughout even in d suspended slab. 2 trailers(1200) of cements for foundation alone.

ayusco85: 2.1 is 2.1. whether 3.50 or 4.49. its a range for crying out loud. ur cousin was just fortunate and lucky. his cgpa wasn't the reason why he's had what he's had after service.

martyns303: A lot of ppl don't understand where the poster is coming from. She is not a fully dedicated Christian, she's just a regular person like most of us, goes to church on Sunday and that's it. Marrying a pastor puts her under the microscope. She can't dress in certain way, talk or act in certain ways without people judging her actions with "see pastor wife". It's like being confined.I agree, the poster is unequally yoked with her spouse hence feeling like she is caged.

Aventures: I have sent the update on the foundation cost update to my client after perusing it i want to believe he will grant permission to publish, cos he actually encourage me to open the tread for people to learn as he had learn on NL and he is still learning. When we lost the tread due to the attack he also boosted my courage to reload. Thanks man. |
AmenJoan: Respondedokay, please check again. ![]() |
Aventures: The budget is exclusive of the roof. We deliberately remove roofing because as at the time of working on this estimate we have not decided on the type of parapet we want to use ( as we are considering the latest parapet in town; aluminium parapet very light stylish and easy to fix) also the roof covering has not also being decided on. What we have is a budget to take the building to carcass to roof level and add flesh to it (block work). At the permission of my client i will post the stages actual cost at the completion of each stage, otherwise i will keep it to my self and disseminate on a special request.Great! Thanks for the clarifications. How high was the ground beam used before you started using blocks? I would love to have the cost of the foundation (if client permits). Overall, i must say it is a very tidy job. You have very good iron benders and bricklayers. Do you use same guys or source for workers in the area? I mean do you have a standard team or do you employ new hands at your various project sites? |
segcymoor: If I may answer for him I will say yes. Carcass does include roofing .Even more impressive. Thanks segcymoore for the reply. I will stay posted perhaps to ask very lame questions as I learn more but most importantly to learn from some honest builders here. I have been silently following some building threads and I must say that I was highly disappointed at the 'thiefery'. |
Please, respond to the e-mail i sent you. |

Aventures: Project Brief:Very reasonable budget. Let's see what this does. But does 'carcass' include roofing? |
Aventures: At no reason ,and at no time are we going to compromise quality. What you saw is not a crack caused by structure quality or failure but as a result of form work for the short pillar casting nailed firmly to the block wall. This is one of the reason i prefer doing my columns before block wall after foundation (i;e framing the structure with structural members first before partition wall).Understood and following. |
Take legal actions. ![]() |

Aventure, I know u for quality. I am not one of those who subscribe to using blocks. I can even see that a block is cracking from the foundation already in the pix above^^^. Did u fill the blocks with concrete? I am subscribing though. |
Aventures: I have uploaded the designs previously, i will do again. The POP Guy has worked for other Nairalanders even as at presents. His contact is 08067848083.is this POP guy trust worthy? |
