BusinessRe: Bank Recapitalisation: Presidency Backs CBN, Investors Rush For Mega-Banks Stock by Cmeo(m):
Who are these investors ingesting to these banks at this time?? My guess is the profiteers of fx speculators and the bank executives. Don't let them trick you into dumping their share for you at high prices. Don't allow them lure you into making gain from you through share speculation after Cardoso has busted their bubble and trying to strain them of their gains from fx speculation. I strongly support the recapitalization, but allow them to go and recapitalize themselves from their founders wealth, their other gains and partners.

My advise for average Nigerians is not to fall for this tricks, don't buy any bank shares at this time. Let them recapitalize themselves first to avoid losing your money to merger, acquisition, or outright bought that may happen during the recapitalization process.

History of Nigeria Stock Exchange has shown that after every recapitalization of these well regulated sectors, their shares performed badly. Beware!

Bro, seems you have good knowledge about this topic.
Please what is recapitalization? And how will it improve the economy?
Recapitalization is when you as a business person needs to add more capital into your business so as to help you meet your business goals and customers needs.

Having more capital in your business will not make you to lose customers as you will have the goods they needed, help improve your sales and business. Doing these will help you as a businessman put your kids in better life, make you life a good life, help your brothers and other multipliers effects

Let me remind you some of benefit of the precious recapitalization, It creates more jobs (contracts and permanent) in the banking sector, we see banks opening more branches, make them beg you to open an account with them, improve their power to borrow customers, businesses and even governments money etc.

Odidigboigbo:
Every here and then, almost all big cooperations sell shares, how many Nigerians do buy shares when they know fully within a short time, their shares will reduced in real value. I can bet you, if recapitalisation is announced today, 95% of commercial banks won't realise the capital from capital market. The big boys will continue to ball while the small players will be consumed. These are prayers of the big boys to to reduced competition.
Nigerians were buying shares very well until they did exactly in the stock market what they are doing now in the forex market and then the crash of the stock market. If Nigerians didn't recapitalize them, let foreigners recapitalize their banks and take over ownership nah, that is what they brought upon themselves as a result of their speculation action for dollars against naira. They were able to escape running the stock market with their actions and want to do same in the money market and escape, it won't work. The chicken has just come home to roast. Large corporation o, small o, they will be forced to bring out their gains in fx speculation to up their capital or they share or lose the control of their banks. Emefelie was setting all of us up while thinking he was protecting them when he allowed them to be doing fx "buy low, sell high" marketing and they were happy, now that Yemi is telling them to go back and make their capital better they should be ready to do "invest in our business" marketing nah. The cross of it is it that it would be difficult for them to go back to average Nigeria that they have burnt their hands during their reins in stock market, so it is much more easier for them to go their fx speculative partners /shareholders and ask them to invest in their banks or they lost their banks. The reality is that it will affect all but it is important that we all learn our lessons. Cardoso should please bring this recapitalization fast, the faster he brings it, the faster exchange rate coming down

be chasing shadows you hear? You better tell the trial and error government you voted in to do the needful. How come the people that wrecked the economy are walking around freely and are well known? Instead, the government is begging them to release part of the stolen funds. They are buying yatch and chasing wetin no lost. Are you guys ok at all?
But this your comment seems to come out of frustration?? Sorry, I hardly respond to frustrated people.
PoliticsRe: Fresh recapitalisation: Bank CEOs, others In merger, acquisition talks by Cmeo(m): 12:54pm On Nov 26, 2023
Odidigboigbo:
Yes, your are right that there are a lot of things to be done to put the economy in a proper shape BUT recapitalisation is not one of them in this material time that our economy is in shambles. Reason being that a lot of jobs will be lost. In this country, we like doing this without putting the adverse effect of our actions into consideration and putting a measure to cushion the effect.
Recapitalization is definitely one of them. If your cooperatives are not meeting the aspiration of it's members to finance it's members monetary needs, what do you think such cooperative society needs? Definitely recapitalization i.e. to shore up it's capital by holding debtors well, get new members, bring in more fund anyway to meet it's members momentary needs nah.

Your analysis is not right. To your mind, if Banks were asked to recapitalised, Those hoarding dollars will bring it out to reinvest right? The same way you guys said when Subsidiary is removed and Forex is allow to float, Naira will appreciate. Six months down the line, what's the outcome?
Forex floating and subsidy remover are not just the two things that would make the economy better. Things musr be done across board, and there are some things that are important more than the others, one of them is subsidy remover and naira floating. However, time will tell

yes let them bring their gains.....they posted gains from the fx so that shouldn't be a problem for most of them.I pray the share price doesn't drop.

This policy will expose some of them.....
If their share price drop, they invited it. Firstly, the bank executive/owners and key members of the board are the highest shareholders in most cases and they are also the benefactors of the naira crash too. After all they have played and enjoyed their roles, let Cardoso plays and enjoy his roles too as their capitalizations setter nah, not everyone would be like Emeleife
PoliticsRe: Fresh recapitalisation: Bank CEOs, others In merger, acquisition talks by Cmeo(m):
Bizibi:
it is good but the cbn governor has to weigh his options, this move have its consequences because Nigeria economy is really bad and only this policy can't just turn things around.
Nigeria economy is bad because alot of money that needs to go around from the genuinely rich and corruptly rich are being used to chase dollar speculations and stacking/storage for a gain, but with this recapitalization, banks that helped them in this "buy low, sell high/stacking" adventure will now go back to them and be begging them for Naira to help increase the capital of their bank or they go into extinction or merger. Mind you that those so called bankers are also part of the big speculators, let them bring their gains out to recapitalize their business and not to be betting on dollars gain/Naira fall venture.

The lesson from this would teach all us that extremism is evil. Infact, Cardoso should please make this recapitalization big and fast abeg.
PoliticsRe: Fresh recapitalisation: Bank CEOs, others In merger, acquisition talks by Cmeo(m):
I said it that one of the best way to stabilize the economy is recapitalization those banks. Yemi Cardozo is very right on this move. This way the bank executives who are well into fx speculation (buy low, sell high) marketers would now be turned to "invest in our bank" marketers thereby reducing money for fx speculation and force them to bring out their gains on fx speculation to the make their company and the country better. Luckily, banking does not need much buildings these days that will cause them to be adding overvalued buildings as part of their capital and Cardozo should watch out for banks using overvalued internet infrastructural to claim capital.
PoliticsRe: Emefiele Pumped ₦‎10Tn Into Economy Through Quasi-Fiscal Activities – Cardoso by Cmeo(m):
This is a smart strategic move, I swear.

Through this, Yemi Cardso has given them a job to be looking for investors that will help shore-up their capital instead of looking for people who they will help with dollar speculation (as most of their top icons do now). Yemi has turn them to "invest in my business" marketers now instead of the Emefiele's style "buy low, sell high" marketers. This will help our naira in the mid-term as they will be forced to approach their dollar speculator customers to help their capital thereby reducing the fund availability for dollar speculation. I pray it is implemented soon.

Good day nairalanders.. please I need advice on what to do.. am married with three kids, 5, 3 , and a year old.. I own a bussines.. but for now my bussines is down, the has been very good and lucrative.. but due to lack of capital to invest more on it. It was now shaking.. but the thing now is that.. I have the capital to invest on the bussines.. but now am saying should relocate abroad with the money and leave my 3kids and wife back home or invest on the bussines.. cus am traveling with a tourist visa and it’s a Europe country and I don’t how long it will take to get my papers over there please Nairaland I really need ur opinion not make future mistakes

Thanks
My candid advise would be don't try hustling abroad with visiting visa and leaving your young family behind.

Concerning your business, don't expect any business you do at this time will be profitable as it used to be and business nowadays requires higher capital to survive. I will advise that you look into a new business that requires like 500k to 1m that make a reasonable profit and
start it. Then grow the business to a higher height and become a major player in it as you would still have more money to play it big at a later time
TravelRe: Categories Of Nigerians Who Shouldn't JAPA Abroad (especially UK) by Cmeo(m): 4:29pm On Nov 09, 2023
To be honest japa is for those at the bottom of the pyramid but it is unfortunate that the cost involved now is beyond those category reach.

Best thing let's stay back and develop Nigeria without leaving everything in the hands of corrupt leaders within our system while we should also double efforts to sacrifice and be productive
