It was so obvious that Emeliefe was doing bonanza with our treasury. |
chaloskyx:Most of them japa to were employed in menial jobs or jobs less than what they left in Nigeria. |
Agreed, 100% |
Museveni launches portal to protect investors from corruption Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday launched the Electronic Investor Protection Portal (EIPP) that is aimed at helping investors, both foreign and local, to report complaints about corruption, bribes and delays directly to the Office of the President. The State House Investors Protection Unit headed by Col Edith Nakalema worked with the National Information Technology Authority (Nita) to develop the portal. The portal enables the president to directly monitor how government agencies respond to complaints raised by investors. https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/news/east-africa/museveni-launches-portal-to-protect-investors-from-corruption-4465310?view=htmlamp |
Afterall, the japa syndrome is not totally bad, just that it will give more opportunity for people who didn't go to move to middle class income |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:The law of the land doesn't permit you to revenge but seek justice in a court of law if you feel cheated or wronged. |
World Bank should please stop up and let us be for some moment mah |
Why is this matter of discussion on social media?? Truly social media is creating a new generation of everything you can think of including gossipers. Haha, kilode! |

stormborn28:Believe me, I didn't follow the Wike - Amaechi saga or I better say I was not interested in Nigeria issues then. But with this event that I am following, pulling the House of Assembly or any other public building down by whosoever did it now or in the past for personal reasons amounted to gross abuse of immunity and such immunity should be removed or reviewed |
stormborn28:We are talking about public interest and you are still stuck with personal interest. Smell the ☕ coffee nah |
It is high time immunity clause is removed from some of our office holders. He demolished it to avoid impeachment sitting against (a personal interest) him but he will build it back using public fund and not personal fund. |
Ebeano49:When we were about getting out of SAP, they sold Monetization to us and turned everything that we used to enjoy for free to money and take out our resources by paying pittance . Everyone is now worried and overworked to make the money we couldn't print at our convenient time. This advise from WorldBank is another one that is aimed at finishing us completely. |
Lie from the pit of hell. Let the house pass the restrictions very fast |
I pity people like the op who have limited knowledge and forming they know it all. He mentioned about Nigeria's debt and some of other figures. I wish he could know that those countries he was advising people to go have more debt, revenue to debt, gdp to debt, etc more than Nigeria. As at Sept. 2023, USA loan to GDP is about 123% with budget deficits of $1.7 trillion. Japa is not for everyone no matter how much the exchange rate is. |
Those who live in glass house should not throw stones. Iwanyawu threw the stone first, Bode George threw his own and now one Ohanaeze (the landlord of Iwanyawu) is crying like a beaten child. Let Ohanaeze face its tenant (Iwanyawu) and not Bode George please |
stanisbaratheon:PDP Assembly members and loyalist of wike vs fubara in rivers state. Twenty-seven members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have cited internal division within the party as their primary reason. In individual letters addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, and read on the floor of the House, the lawmakers attributed their decision to the ongoing tussle for the position of the National Secretary of the PDP. They argued that the dispute has created confusion and hampered communication channels within the party. According to the lawmakers, the ongoing dispute over the position has fueled a legal battle within the PDP, with various members filing lawsuits in different courts. This, according to the defecting lawmakers, has created “confusion” and “sharply divided the party.” https://politicsnigeria.com/just-in-why-we-defected-to-the-apc-rivers-lawmakers-opens-up/ |
I don't think this can fly because the cn laan on the excuse that there is crisis in Rivers state PDP |
GSK quits Kenya 4 months after Nigeria’s exit BusinessdayDec 11, 2023 5:16 PM GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a British pharmaceutical multinational, has quit Kenya four months after its market-shaking exit from Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria. In what appears to be a global restructuring of its business model, the company which produces prescription drugs and vaccines is set to adopt a distributor-led model to supply the country, a similar approach adopted in Nigeria in August. GSK hinted that the operation at Nairobi’s Industrial area plant will remain open under GSK’s stand-alone affiliate, Haleon. According to a local news outlet in Kenya, this consumer healthcare venture deals in products like Sensodyne and Panadol. GSK in July spun off the consumer healthcare business and listed it separately as Haleon in shake-up to focus on the lucrative prescription drugs and vaccines business, which has brands like Augmentin, Zentel and Ventolin. “The production facility in Kenya is a Haleon facility, and is not the subject of the update that GSK gave in Kenya this week,” GSK said. “We announced that for our GSK business, we would move to a direct distribution model. This means that instead of having a GSK commercial operation in the country we will supply our medicines and vaccines through a third party.” The exit of GSK comes as the firm races to overhaul its global business in shifts that led to the spin-off the consumer health unit. GSK turned down a £50 billion bid from Unilever for the unit at the end of last year, arguing that it undervalued the company. The review of the Kenya operations comes nearly five years after the pharmaceutical giant announced it was cutting back operations in Africa. It stopped marketing medicines to healthcare professionals in 29 sub-Saharan African markets but continued running local operations in Kenya and Nigeria while retaining representative offices in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana. In Kenya, GSK has made a bigger impact with its malaria and HIV/Aids drugs and antibiotics such as Augmentin and Panadol. The pharma created the groundbreaking malaria vaccine, Mosquirix, piloted in Kenya last year, aimed at taming deaths, especially among children. Its exit follows disappointing sales for many regional multinational pharmaceutical companies in the face of competition from cheaper generics from India and locally manufactured medicines. |
Surveillance should be higher now because some people will import some liquid contents now and call it LPG just to escape VAT and custom duty |
I love what happened in this case of P&ID. It is a lesson for both Nigeria, leaders entrusted with authority and those multinational who are here to manipulate our weak system. It wouldn't surprise me if the outcome of this case is what is making some multinational companies to vacate because of the fear of prosecution/persecution for system manipulation. Companies coming to Nigeria, Nigerians in position of authority and the country Nigeria should have good intention, walk the right path to avoid a repeat of this scenario. |
It's high time to be looking inward now, no more joke or lip service about changing Nigeria's economy but government commitment to see it happen. |
Call for concerns |
With this policy, the traditional banks may finish themselves as people will switch massively to these psb if those people raise to create their own interbank settlement like the traditional banks that created NIBSS then. |
Reference:I got your point but the investors we need now are the one that will be ready to use our resources to create their own product. Let the research and setup lab to research and adopt our raw materials or we develop it ourselves. And if they aren't coming, we should wake up to our responsibility to develop our country and industries by ourselves. |
Any company that want to go should please be fast to go. Out economy don't need rent seekers anymore but those with genuine interest that will use our local materials to develop their products not those who transfer money to their foreign parent companies in different frivolous way. |
Those refineries equipment are obsolete and need new replacement. |
SoNature:What do they expect when such a huge money is given to fresh graduate who have little or no experience about running business in Nigeria or anywhere else. These guys should not spoil the funding market for us, the genuine and experienced Nigerian entrepreneur because they havent fund most of our sustainable business o. |
