tolue42:"Government don't have business doing business" that is the word. Let government regulate and make money from regulations and violations. Modern government has moved away from doing business but to give enabling environment and regulation businesses |
The European Union is set to launch a new mission in West Africa in the fall, a combined military-civilian operation aimed to prevent instability triggered by jihadi groups. EU foreign ministers will announce the start of the "civil-military" mission at a meeting in Luxembourg in October, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper has learned. DW reports that the mission in the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa will be with police and soldiers deployed to Ghana, Togo, Benin and Ivory Coast. The governments of Benin and Ghana have already sent formal invitations. Senior EU diplomats who are familiar with the planning told the German paper that the mission stems from "concerns of the EU that jihadist groups could extend their activities in Western Africa from the Sahel region to the southern coastal countries off the Gulf of Guinea." https://saharareporters.com/2023/08/28/european-union-launch-civil-military-mission-west-africa-report-0?utm_source=operamini&utm_medium=feednews&utm_campaign=operamini_feednews |
Seems revolution is finally here now in mother Africa (especially in French Colonies). I suspect this is coming because the oppositions have no voice again, citizens choice are override and citizens are silenced when they raise an eyebrows. The military seems to be intervening for the citizens. |

It is high time Nigeria apply to be a member of BRICS. Most of our major traders are there now. This will help safe our currency exchange crisis. |
Putin's word "God is the person that will forgive terrorists, but sending them to God is my job." |
I laugh at most people calling out President Tinubu and not Emeliefe cum Buhari on this outburst by JP Morgan. Those with sense knows that the recent time different outburst had President Tinubu underhand, this including the release of CBN Annual Reports, etc. I believe more is to come. Pres. Tinubu is stylishly making people to know the rot he met without those words coming out from him or his office. |
For me, I have come to conclusion that Nigerian middle-class are the problems of Nigeria. This means those people are useless-ing our productivity and Naira to purchase other currency to pay school fees, japa, buy foreign goods and the rest. Naira fall is a result of failed Middle-class development. The Consul-General of Ghana in Lagos, Samata Bukari, says Nigeria has played significant roles in the 75 years of University of Ghana delivering education and research. Bukari, who said this during a news conference on Monday at the Consulate General of Ghana in Lagos held alongside its ongoing students’ recruitment drive, stressed that Nigeria had contributed to the achievements of the University of Ghana. She said that Ghana and Nigeria had been in education cooperation for years, and there was need for continuity. “The University of Ghana is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and we are using this opportunity to acknowledge the role Nigeria and Nigerian students have played in our existence. “I think my choice of the University is worth it. The environment is okay, the people are friendly and I have a well-grounded knowledge of my discipline,” she stressed. Meanwhile, Mr. Emmanuel Dankwa, the Recruitment Officer, University of Ghana, said that despite the decreased admission numbers in the past five years, Nigerians constituted 60 per cent of students in the university. Dankwa noted that Nigerian students had been outstanding, adding that the overall best medical student a few years back had been a Nigerian. According to him, there are also Nigerian lecturers in the University, while many alumni are working in reputable companies. Dankwa stressed that the institution was generally impressed with Nigerian students. https://barristerng.com/60-of-students-of-university-of-ghana-are-nigerians-official/ |
Do we have 2 Ministry cum minister for Innovation?? 1. Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy 2. Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology |
This is very disappointing, especially as it it coming from polytechnic education regulator. It is a sign and admittance of their failure to do a good job as a regulator. The DG or Executive Secretary (or as the title of the head is called) should be ashamed of himself for accepting this program (not to talk of advertising it), instead of ensuring the abolishing of HND, BSc dicothomy. A serious HND graduate would not go for this top-up graduate. I am one of the graduates and will never subscribe for any top-up degree. |

Let me help your curiosity a bit. I am from yoruba ethnic of Nigeria/ Africa. Yoruba ethnic group are majorly in 6 states in Nigeria and minority in state like Kogi, Delta and Edo. Yoruba are also in Benin Republic. We are known by our language (Yoruba - even though there are a different Yoruba dialets(, dance, tradition of respect for elders, fashion sense and food. In terms of respect for elders, females are expected to kneel down to greet elders while males are expected to prostate to greet elders. Our foods are majorly swallow, processed and combined. For example we have preference for mixing soups. Our fashion sense is iro and buba (wrapper and blouse) for women. Our native cloth is Aso-oke/Ofi regularly matched with fila (cap) for men or gele (head tie) for women. |
The real middle class in Nigeria are the japa's or school abroad syndicates. |
Tunechi5:I concur with you. China's is another good example to prove that huge population is not a problem. |
LegendHero:Most likely the oil companies within the Port Harcourt domain generate their own electricity, hence the reason for their low revenue generation. |
Salewa97:No be today now, Dangote even confirmed it. He said 60% of what is called Nigeria's economy is centered around the 6 South West states of Nigeria. |
So far those generals couldn't win the war of terrorism that was before them, then there is no need to keep them. A private soldier is better than a general who could not win his enemies. Incase the war of terrorism gets worse than it is now, DSS should not forget to invite this man for questioning and investigation. |
Which retired corps are they talking again when there is Nigerian Legion. |
This development is not bad. I think its part of the plan to help our credit system. With this, it will be easy to use vehicle to access credit/loan so far your proof of ownership is established and current. |
Trust me, our export is not so much a problem but our undying appetite for foreign goods. Those days when the economy was good, there was little or no appetite for foreign goods, so our foreign currency earnings then were with us and was not pursuing foreign goods, unlike now. |
Nigerians are significant part of the problem of this country. Why would everyone be commenting on international currency than those who really need it? It is a sign of failed economy where what should be a majorly local economy has been over exposed for dollarized consumption. |
Sorry, but I believe that the former President Buhari had no balls to do the main thing (petrol subsidy removal), instead he was hitting it from the sides, attending to minor issues. Garba Shehu statement sounds like giving credence to statement made by former Governor Baguda on Arise TV about subsidy thief and a former president. Anyway, all has finally worked for good last last. For Nigeria to work, don't subsidize consumption, instead let's subsidize production. |
Since the sack of Service Chiefs, I observe that our roads has been de-militarized which I think is very good for our democracy. Our roads are clear of those military checkpoints systemically instilling fears in our lives like it was done to our forefathers and my generation. I am happy because for this development because our children won't share in those threats posed by military presence in our society. |
2times2:You are wrong about the immigration. I can tell you that is Nigerian Legion (Retired Soldiers) regalia. For the Orange regalia, I honestly don't know and don't want to guess. |
Tinubu as President is not a person that any world leader can ignore at anytime. Even before he became president, these world leaders have been sending their country ambassadors to his house yearly for courtesy calls. |
Adidee:Thank you for the response and the alternative you provided |
Adidee:Thank you for your input. I have looked into EB 3. Do I need to WES evaluation for US degree equivalent as I have my educational qualifications from Nigeria. |

I would like to ask the following: 1. Is WES evaluation compulsory as part of my application exhibit? 2. Which role (entrepreneur or programs coordinator) will give my application a better chances? |
I have the option of putting in for EB 2 NIW as a entrepreneur or as a researcher/project coordinator. I have ND, HND and PGE qualifications from Nigeria and resident in Nigeria Please, I will like ask the following questions: 1. is WES evaluation a must for my application? |
This data should be verified because some people are hellbent in using misinformation to frustrate efforts of those they consider opposition. |
The best thing about this census thing is that it will not be conducted under Bihari Government. |
PrinceOfLagos:Now, I beginning to believe that some people are just bitter out of ignorance or hatred. If not for bitterness and ignorance combined, Why would anyone say that Osun state is one of the poorest state in the country when credible sources has rated Osun to be one of the state with high standards of living in Nigeria?? |
