DadR: Help is still needed here please.... 1. Send a mail to your fund manager/institution and specify in the content of the mail the requirements of CIC (on their website). Many of them are familiar with this once you tell them it's for Canada immigration. They know what to give you. 2. Better to submit the statement along with the letter. That's the perfect combination. 3. I wouldn't worry too much about a lump sum cos it might as well have come from your other account. However, if you borrowed the money or someone gave you out of charity, you can do a gift deed just to be on the safe side. 4. I don't know how to answer this question perfectly, but I'll give you my own experience. I opened a second mutual fund with Stanbic in June by depositing a one-time lump sum. In September I got a letter from them and a statement of account. This was one of my POF which I submitted. So, invariably, did a lump sum transfer about four months before obtaining a letter. I submitted my application in October. Now I have PPR. |

I'm really feeling generous this evening and wanna give out free call credits of 100 to 50 persons. Just post your number, and once you received the credit please edit your post and take off your number. I know the mods may say it's not allowed to post numbers on NL, but then chill a bit abeg. We should do things like this from time to time. No strings attached to this offer.
Let's start.

umazigy: My Advice to prospective applicants. 1. DO NOT SUBMIT FALSE DOCUMENTS – You may think you are smart but they are smarter, they can see what you cannot see, these guys are meticulous and they leave no stone unturned. If we can go through the process without issues, I believe you can also so just do the RIGHT thing. 2. Be Patient – We never bothered calling London office after we sought info on where our documents were being processed (London). 3. Make sure you follow-up with your transcript from your school. 4. Study hard for IELTS so you don’t write it over and over again, and if you are married ensure that your spouse writes to help boost your score. 5. Advise all your family members to apply. Impressive! Good job. Congrats man! |

kissoflife: Hello All,
I just got PPR and I was told my passports should be valid for 6 months. My current passport expires in June 18th 2018 which is now less than six months.
I have an option to take the risk and send my passport or renew .
Now the question;
I am given 15 days to submit my passport, how do I ask for extension to renew my passport?
CC: cochtrane You needn't be so pedantic about it. If I were you, I'd sent my passport. It's still some six months away from June 18, isn't it? If you'd like to extend though, send your mail to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca |

TEECANN: @cochtrane,
Wow...how did I miss this golden piece of information.
1. Like seriously? My good friend, are you saying in the event of receiving the PPR mail, I can mail the Visa Office and inform them that I cannot submit my passport within the time frame given due to so and so reason and it will be honoured without me loosing the intended CoPR that has been fought long & hard for?
2. How does this affect the general rule which says you must be on your way to canny before your medical report or passport expires, whichever comes first?
So let's say hypothetically you delayed getting stamped and issued a CoPR and your medical report (which suppose to last for a year) expired mid way, what can you do in that event or should you just plan the whole arrangements to fall within the currency of ones medical report? (What is to be done where ones medical report expires before exiting to Canny?)
Pls help me to shed light on this in detail as this info may afford one some more time to gather a lil more fund before exiting which will be very useful for a fresh immigrant family in Canny.
It will all end in praise IJN! 1. Yes. You surely can write them to extend the deadline for passport submission. I think you'd need to provide valid reasons for this though, like evidence of travel, etc. One certainly can't send a passport they don't have yet. 2. I think the rule about medicals still stands. That one is set in stone. Well, about the medicals expiring mid-way. I'm guessing they'll probably request that you redo it. They often require this of people whose medicals expire before issuance of PPR. So, am guessing that'd be the way to go. |

Nozzle: @Cochtrane How did you manage to pull off this passport submission deadline extension?. I need your advice on this matter. I am not in the country right now . I don't see myself landing till end of February. I have not gotten PPR yet but I think it's pretty close( by his grace), do you think this guys can give more than a 30-day extension? I am planning to write after PPR but someone insist I write before it comes. Even if you are a 100% sure you'll get PPR, you definitely should write after. There's no justification for writing before. Simply send them a mail and inform them that you have traveled and will be unable to meet the 15- or 30-day deadline (whichever comes), attaching the evidence of travel. That should clear you. That's what I did and that's what I read off canadavisa.com was done by some other guys. |

RandV: Hello All,
Please I have a few questions to ask for a post-ITA status
1. Is it a must for a family of 4 to have their medicals done at the same hospital at the same time? Kids and spouse are in abuja and I am in lagos. So we want to do the medicals at different hospitals, but we are being advised against this.
2. Must you have your International Passport ready before you get to do your medicals?
Thanks Not sure about your first question, but I'd feel you should be able to do your medicals in different hospitals. I saw some guys on canadavisa.com who had their medicals at different places. You may want to check out that site. Regarding your second question, yes you'd need your international passport before you can do medicals. |

optionese: ADVICE ON POF
For those who haven't submitted , if you have more than one account showing you proof of funds make a table / front cover explaining. This mistake by CIC has robbed so many people . I know someone on another site after 8months rejected , he wrote to CIC and was given PPR i think a month later.
God give us our own testimony This is good advice. Also suggested it someone who had his POF split in five different vehicles. In such cases, this is surely the way to go. |

Obi1conte: He is worried it would lead to a failed medicals Disclosing a recently diagnosed case of diabetes shouldn't make your friend fail medicals. Some have been in worse situations without any effect on their application. In the case of diabetes, they'll only focus attention on the patient if there is end-organ damage. In this case, the diabetes has sailed into the organs. As long as your friend is still healthy and has been managing his situation well, he should have zero problems. Check this link here for what they do during screening. If during screening they don't run additional tests on him as per the flowchart, he's good to go. |

sleekchic: Hello All,
I just need to vent for a second. I am preparing for IELTS in January and I am finding listening practice test rather challenging. I have done over 40 tests on YouTube. My issue is that I don't even know which ones are real because when I do the ones posted by some channels I rarely get higher than 34, they are wickedly difficult but when I do the ones by some other channels I always get 39 or 40 and I feel they are too easy. It's confusing, how do I know which ones are real? They all have similar patterns and voice recordings. I really need to improve my listening. My husband that I am the one that tells him what they say in Oyinbo films(he doesn't hear their accent) is even getting higher scores in d practice tests. Any tips Pls helep. Practice with the ones on IELTS official website. They have the perfect difficulty level for the exam. |

Threemg: 1. Do I need to get all reference letters from all the companies I have worked after NYSC? You really don't need to. You only need reference letters enough to justify up to 3 years work experience in order to claim max points under express entry. If it doesn't pose problems, then collect as many of the reference letters as you can. 6 years experience will enable you score max points under eligibility for FSW. You can read more about that here. 2. What do I do in d Choice of NOC? I am an Electrical (Power systems) graduate and I hav e worked in 3 different companies with different roles : Please what should be d yardstick for my NOC , is it any of the previous experience or the current one? You can easily derive your NOC from what's stated in your job reference letter when you get it. That's sometimes the best yardstick. 3. My ND n HND ECA is currently handled by WES, I have a B.Eng too but NOR is not yet out and that's y I proceeded with d aHnd, do u think I should evaluate dt of the BEng too for more points? Thanks fam ND/HND will give you the same points as BEng + ND/HND. So, you might as well just stick with evaluating your ND/HND. |

Will I just say travelling or what? Pls its urgent help. If you wanna avoid stating the true facts, you could say you need it for "travel purposes". I'm sure you can draft an ambiguous email full of unclear details about the nature of the "travel". Put it at "foreign travel". If it comes down to it however and you are asked point blank if it's for immigration, it's better to not deny. Who knows, CIC may be sending out an inquiry regarding your job reference letter. It rarely comes to that though. |
