Good day all

If ITA comes few days before ones birthday is this an issue, would i have to reject it as my documents would probably not support the age ITA was issued?
If ITA comes few days before birthday, you can still apply. There's an exemption for this scenario.

Consequently, scores will rise like soaked garri. Let me know which score address I belong to first by Friday, so as to channel my ITA visitation prayers well grin
I think it's more likely the rules will change in some way. That's almost certain. Whether it'll allow more people or not is what I can't say.

Thanks so much Cochtrane for this information, but with regards to the bank statement to be attached to the POF, the only bank statement I currently have with an average inflow is my company account. I don’t have a personal one I use actively. Is it very necessary to attach the bank statement? Or can something else be attached. A letter of explanation maybe?

Secondly please what do you mean by tight documentation under travel history?

Thanks
I meant you should use the bank statement from which you are gonna extract the fixed deposit money. Or how are you gonna get this money?
Yes, you can use a letter of explanation.

By tight documentation, I meant putting everything in order.

Can't wait to see 2017 figures. Na bomb! CIC should also be ready to employ more VOs for 2018 work o..., because ALL my siblings, and Hubby's siblings are turning in their applications next year plus interested friends and colleagues. If u see d way I market this Canadian PR, you will think CIC is my employer and like I'm on a kind of marketing target to bring in customers. grin
Lol. Correct. And I'm sure you ain't the only one. Many skeptical people often become firm believers once a member of the family secures this PR thing. And because it's all online, it's far easier and more convenient than the earlier application methods. 2017 numbers will definitely be off the roof. Nonetheless, I suspect India will still carry the day.

Meanwhile, fun fact. The majority express entry applicants come from India. Nigeria, on the other hand, is rather well represented. There was an increase of over 900% in applications from Nigeria from 2015 to 2016. We could be seeing an even bigger increase by the end of this year. And to think there were people from France too!

Most people's points will be automatically deducted. @Bolded, was it before getting an Invitation to Apply?
It would seem for some people their profiles are automatically updated after their birthday, but for others they have to change it manually. In all, the instruction on CIC's website is for every applicant to ensure that any change in circumstances is updated on their application before accepting ITA. Changes could be related to family composition, age, etc. Not doing this could amount to misrepresentation.

Hello everyone

I’m new here! Been following your threads for about 4 days before officially joining. Kudos to this platform and those assisting people on here.

I am one of those anxious few who have recently gotten their ITAs and are trying to make sure they get it right for a PR.

I would also like to ask questions and I’d appreciate a kind reply.

1) in relation to the POF (my major worry), I would like to create a Fixed deposit of about 1.5m with gtbank and my mum wants to gift me with about 2.3m. My major concern is, would the creation of the new fixed deposit raise a red flag? If that would be the case, what is the most advisable supporting document to attach to the new investment report? Secondly for the gift from my mum, what would be the best way to present proof of the gifted amount without further questioning from the CIC Official?

2) I had been denied a UK visa about 4 years ago. Is this likely to affect my application in anyway? And will they require further documentation for my other travel records?

Can someone please assist with these difficulties.

Thank you
Welcome to the thread!

1. Attach your bank statement to your POF. That should sort your worry about creation of the fixed deposit. For the gift from your mum, use a gift deed to take care of that. Check here for details on gift deed and for templates you can use.

2. A previous visa denial will not affect your application. Just make sure to answer "Yes" under the question requesting this information while submitting your application. You may also have to provide the reason you were issued a denial. It doesn't affect your application anyways. Since it's a UK denial, you may end up with the dreaded London Visa Office. Nothing to be scared of; just put together tight documentation under travel history.

Wish you the best.

Congrats to those who got ITA. As expected, score was a bit on the high side. Hopefully there's gonna be another next two weeks. Score should be lower then.

Single people may be scared to testify so that that they can separate the chaff from the wheat i.e. they can decipher who likes/loves them for themselves and who may only be after them because they now have JT’s ‘pali’

I noticed that most of the testimonies here are from married people.
Perhaps only because many more skilled workers in Nigeria are married. The application itself does not discriminate between married & single applicants

Good evening to you all..
I made an observation, it seems to me that this Express Entry favor couples or couples with kids more. Why's that?
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
You are wrong. If it favors anyone more, it's single applicants. As a married person your points drop so that those of your other half can add to bring it up.

Hello everyone.
I have been a silent reader on this thread and i must say that the contributions are simply invaluable. Anyway, after much thought,my family decided to start the EE process. I scored better in the IELTS and i have a masters degree which has also been evaluated by WES as a masters degree. The CRS score is way higher with me as the principal applicant. The problem for me is in the area of work experience. The company i used to work for folded up years ago,and i haven't worked for some time, though i still my employment letter. My hubby on the other hand has a steady day job with regular salary and can easily get the required evidence of work experience and POF all but his education and IELTS drops the CRS score. We are confused on how to to go about it . Please advice.
It doesn't matter that the company you used to work for has folded. You can still attempt getting the work experience letter from a former manager or supervisor. Check out this post by GlitteringStar >>https://www.nairaland.com/3999848/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/129#60331417

Great house here.
Please, I have a peculiar issue of POF. I am planning both the EE and PNP route.
However, my wife is the one that have such amount that can be use as POF and she is about opening a Mutual Fund account with another bank (18% interest, you know). I want to know if depositing the cash in a Mutual Fund that might be barely 6 months during application will be accepted?

Please kindly answer me bosses @TEECAN @40manlappy and all other ogas.
If it's your money I don't see why this should be a problem. I think we have all been stressing out too much over this 6-month thing.

If you follow other posts on Nairaland, you would notice threads don't usually go beyond 400 pages... Part 1 was an oversight.
I can count a dozen threads on Nairaland with pages over 400. I don't see any difference it makes in allowing Part 2 run as long as Part 1, except there's something happening in the back end I don't understand.

NB: back end = data access layer of a piece of software. The software layer you don't see.

Please if one gets a visa denial after submitting documents do you need to inform CIC about the visa denial again? Or it does not count since documents av bn submitted. Thanks in anticipation
Though it's not explicitly required to notify them of situations such as this, you should know that you need to inform them if the reasons for the denial is security-related. Usually they want notification if there are important changes to your application, like marriage, divorce, family composition, address maybe, etc. But if there's a security situation (or development) causing that visa denial, you'd need to raise a CSE and let them know. If you don't and they find out and have to investigate, it could delay your application significantly.
