Abbylee: Hi guys!
I finally got ITA.
I was wondering, when filling my application; travel history specifically: I travelled to Ghana by road 4 years ago with my old passport, passed through Benin and Togo boarders to get there and of course my passport was stamped anyhow.
Will I need to include Togo and Benin in countries I have been to? Even though all these stamps are on my old passport and Ghana was the destination?
Do i need to include scanned pages of stamps and travel history on my old passport?
Thanks Include only travel history on and scans of your current passport. If they need more info, they'll get back to you. In that case you can then scan older passports to them. In entering your travel history, pay attention to how your passport was stamped. That is, if your passport was stamped at the Togo border during entry and exit, then you've traveled to Togo, even if was in just one day. As the scan will show this, it's better you enter it. If your passport wasn't stamped at all in Togo, then you don't have to enter it into your travel history. |

Bimpsy99: Please when was this evaluation done? Asking because someone on this thread once posted a screen shot of a favourable evaluation by WES for ICAN which is what changed my mindset about whether it leads to a favourable result.
Some school of thought even has it that WES gives favourable assessment to people who assessed ICAN post 2011 under the new syllabus.
Please has any one recently evaluated ICAN? What year did you finish, when was the evaluation done and what was the outcome??
We need to know what is truly obtainable so that people can be rightly guided.
From what your friend has..it can't be regarded As a Canadian certificate and no point can be earned. This is curious. I'd have thought they'd evaluate that positively. At the same time, we've got only one case of positive evaluation for ICAN and several cases of negative evaluation, if I'm correct. I find it difficult to believe it's down to the officer assessing the qualification, as WES should have a standard they abide by. Surely we need more cases before saying anything further on this. |

Thanks @codebrew85, @TEECANN, @blessings2017
@TEECANN, regarding "working smart" as you say, you need a PDF editor. Acrobat or Foxit, or any other good one. I know the Foxit pro is really good. It allows you to insert text into any field (for PDF forms without pre-formatted text fields) or into any regular PDF with formatted text field. It also enables you insert images from clipboard. That way you can add your signature into any field and resize it to fit. You won't be printing out the pdf forms at all; everything you'll do with the tools available on the editor. It also links easily with MsWord and other generic doc & image formats.
So, the first step is finding the right editor. |

And finally @GlitteringStar. She has the most beautiful mind I have ever seen. She is a special one. Thanks. Some quick unique things about my application
1. I used OND (National Diploma) & BSc to obtain "Two or more certificates". I remember coming to this thread and seeing instructions that only "post-Bachelor" diploma was allowed by CIC. It took some research to find out this is false. I urge everyone not to take at face value what they see here. As Canadianfly has always advised, do your own research. Only take the stuff you get here as where to set out on your research path. You could even ignore it all together!
2. After filling in my background details, including personal & educational history, I got ADR to do this again. Unfortunately I didn't take snapshots, so I'm 100% sure I got some dates mixed up in the repeat ADR, like starting an activity in April 2008 in the former & maybe September 2008 in the latter. I simply couldn't remember. After submitting, I found that I did take snapshots. Checked and saw I had filled some of the background ADR wrongly. Didn't bother to raise CSE as I expected the VO to give himself brain and understand April is not so far from September, lol. Well, it was a chance I took.
3. They didn't ask me for language details and I didn't claim points for French, but I put my french certificates anyways and added a LOE. I had filled some of the info in my personal history and thought to furnish details with a LOE. Now that I think about it, that was completely irrelevant. You really shouldn't put things you don't have to.
4. I got IP1 before getting "Medicals Passed". I honestly don't know why, but am guessing every application is just unique in its own way.
5. Initially, I submitted only current passport. Shortly after I got ADR for travel history and had to use an extra sheet to complete the information as the document did not fit in all travel information. I then added stamps & biodata page from all my passports (3 in all). But I carefully inserted hyperlinks in the cover page such that clicking each link took will take the VO to the respective passport pages.
6. I added several info on work history in addition to the requested letter. I have easy access to a lot of my career information (from coy database), so it was pretty easy to add so many stuff to prove I have the required work experience in the specified NOC. Added payslips for a year. Was easy to get from coy database.
7. Used digital photo (softcopy) from Studio 24.
8. Used Mutual funds only as POF (Stanbic & ARM). Didn't use anything else.
I hope these details help someone Thanks again to everyone! Thing now is, I've traveled and didn't make arrangements for this 15-day deadline. I'll have to find a way to extend this. |

wale006: Hello All,
I have been reading this page for over two months but I didn't comment or asked any question, I simply read and learn. I discovered a lot of people ask very advance questions when they are actually in the embryonic stage of their application. So I decided that until I have the basic I will not disturb you all.
Now I am here. I checked my IELTS yesterday and it was 8.5,8.5,7.5,7.5 for LRSW. I have also commenced my ECA process but yet to get the evaluation.
Now my question is, what exactly is step by step process and what will I be needing at each step. I am the kind of person that like getting things in order before even starting.
NOTE: I used the CRS tool and my score is 441 with the result above.
I have all my cash which is sufficient in mutual funds and I am single (Lone Ranger)
I await your responses, Thank you all. 1. Obtain you ECA. 2. Submit your EE profile on CIC's website. If you have rightly calculated your CRS score, you should get 441 and easily obtain ITA 3. After obtaining ITA, submit all your docs. By now, you should know what you need. If you don't, refer to Page 1. Basically this is where you submit POF, ECA, IETLS, medicals etc. 4. Once profile submitted, you await CIC's decision on your application which can take anywhere from 1-6 months. 5. Decision can either be positive or negative. |

Dannyko: Good day all,I just got an email from WES and part of the content reads "This is to advise you that photocopies of your documents have been sent to University of Lagos for verification and that your file has been placed on hold until we receive their written response."
Pls how long does Unilag respond to WES?I just want to know what my waiting time will be from now. Thanks all for your usual help.
@kontagious @glitteringstar @hephgirl and honourable elders on the thread kindly respond Unilag will usually respond in 1-2 weeks. But I've seen cases where they don't respond at all, cos they get several verification requests. In other instances, they could take longer than 1-2 weeks. Personally, I had to have the verification request sent twice before unilag responded. They simply didn't see the first one, according to them. So, you may have to follow up. If you go to the Senate building during visiting times, you should be able find someone to talk to who'll tell you if your verification request has been attended to. Unilag typically responds by email. |

mosbiod: Just a quick question to help me plan my POF. Must the monies be complete in the account 6 months before ITA or just before ITA? If you can get it to be completed 6 months before ITA, that'd be great; or six months before submitting your application, would be fantastic. However, we've had a handful of cases where guys had POF completed only 1-2 months (or less!) before submitting application or getting ITA and still got PPR. So, just do what you can and cross your fingers. The whole six months thing evolved from CIC's requirements that the letter you obtain from your financial institution should show your account with, among other things, "the average balance for the past six months". Nothing however says the average balance for these past six months should be greater than the mandated POF amount. |

This is mostly what happens doing Medicals at Children's Practice, Ikoyi. Of course, this will vary from person to person and could change completely in the future. -You walk in to the Visa Medicals section. Instruction is to get there before 10am.
-Inform the person at the desk you want to do upfront medicals for Canadian PR (Express Entry)
-You'll submit a passport photo and a copy of your international passport. You'll also show your original international passport. So you need to go with 1 passport photo, a copy of your international passport & your original international passport.
-You'll be given a GTB bank teller and instructed to go pay 28050naira at GTB. A GTBank is some walking distance from the hospital. If you didn't drive there, you'll find some hangers-on taximen around the hospital for maybe 500naira (see attachment for how far GTBank is from the hospital; it's some 10mins walk).
-You return to the hospital and hand the teller to the person at desk, confirming that you've paid.
-You will be given two tags (a red & a green tag) with numbers on it. You will also be given a paper with instructions (some sort of legal agreement) that you need to sign. I guess this is to absolve Children's Practice from any fallout following your medicals. It also gives them the right to disclose your medical situation to a third party.
-You sit in the waiting room and wait to be called on. Your number on the tags will be called out.
-Usually red tag is called out first. With the red tag they do blood work on you. You walk into a small room where they take your height, weight and siphon some of your precious blood into a syringe. You will also be handed a small container here to "pee-pee" in. All of this could take about 10mins. You might want to drink enough water before going so "pee-pee"-ing is easier for you.
-You go back out to wait with your green tag. Sooner they'll call out the number on your green tag. With the green tag, you do X-ray in another room.
-You'll have to pull your shirt/top off in order to do the X-ray. Don't know why they go this length. I have been to other clinics where I didn't have to practically UnCloth to have X-ray done. But what do I know! I'm no doctor.
-Once done with the X-ray, you go to a second building where the next stages continue.
-You sit in a waiting room and wait your turn to be called.
-Firstly, you are called into another smaller room (there seems to be no shortage of small rooms in this place). Here, you sit facing someone on a computer. They collect your passport and enter your details into a computer system apparently connected to the Canadian portal. They ask you questions, collect information from you and at the end print you a nice white paper which is your medical form to be uploaded onto your EE placeholder. This is basically what you came for.
-After this, you go back into the waiting room to resume watching long faces who are all also waiting.
-You wait your turn to see a doctor. At the doctor's (another small room, evidently), you get to do the eye test and physical examination, have a chat with the doctor and answer basic questions. This is where talk about medical history & previous surgeries could come up. Doctor also enters info into a portal apparently connected to the Canadian EE system.
-At the end of this, you say goodbye to the doc and return to the original building where you started out from. Here, you hand the white medical form you got from Block B to the X-ray specialist in Block A who collects some info from it and then return it to you.
-Once you get your medical form back, you are ready to leave. That's the end of your medicals.
-All of these could take between 1 hour to 4 hours depending on the number of people visiting.
