5minsmadness: Exactly, we are in synch now! If you won't walk up to an agbero with a chest the size of a trailer to insult him then why do same with your husband at home? Women who abuse their husbands until he strikes should have no one to blame but themselves.
WE AGREE! Muhahahahahahaha There's is no justification for verbally abusing your spouse. I didn't even imply that in anyway. We would be in total agreement if you drop your belief that verbal abuse justifies physical abuse. That's not my belief so I don't see how we agree. |

5minsmadness: Your mind-reading abilities suck. I thought he meant equal power, as in physical power. He went on to specify strength and i decided to ask the same question using 'strength' instead.
Do you feel men and womoen have equal strength? Maybe you made a typo but you asked two different questions. But that's by the way. No men and women don't have equal strength What's with you and funny questions today. On average men are physically stronger than women. Ok ask me the color of the sky. It Is blue |
Family › Re: The Wife Beating Campaign On Nairaland by cococandy(f): 10:39pm On May 08, 2015 |
5minsmadness: In other words you dont know the answer I've answered. Violence is not a response to verbal assault. If you won't hit someone bigger or physically stronger than you or someone who can retaliate and defend themselves match for match with you when they insult you, then why hit someone else. Men who hit women do that because they percieve they are weaker and seek to suppress them. Women who hit men do so because they believe the men can't retaliate hence they hope toget away with the violence. There's something wrong with such sick mindsets. |

5minsmadness: So are you saying on average that men and women have equal strength? Gosh. First he said equality isn't about equal power. You thought he meant 'political-heirachy' power. He said he meant strength. Meaning equality isn't about equal physical strength and you're asking if he means men and women have equal strength. Lol |

Can also be two eggs fertilized by two sperm cells in the same monthly cycle. Like me and my twin. Yea about that, in this case, the woman admits having had sex with someone else that same week as the baby daddy. Besides they can use the mom's DNA to know If she's the mother. If she is and the man is not the father, then case closed bebe2: How? I thought twins are one cell dat divides?
Dats why i hate hospital nursery, like they do in in America.
I prefer the UK system, once ur baby slips out, they put him/her on ur chest.
Take her two feet away get her dressed, put her in a cot next to ur bed.
The baby is never out of ur sight. |

Osisi, Efe, chilli, LaurenCoco, damiso and ya all please share. Kale? Collard green? Those are the only ones that seem close to ugu to me. Collard greens taste a bit like garden egg leaves. But they are strong in texture like ugu. But nothing pass ugu sha. I've searched high and low |

How about they get a doctor to help the man with his drinking? You know "AA programs", "help for addicts" kind of things? The solution can't be for the wife to keep quiet and watch her husband drink his liver away. Believe it or not her talking is because she cares about him. Besides drunk people mess up the house when they drink; sometimes throwing up and throwing things. She's supposed to keep quiet and clean up all that mess everyday? This analogy(should I call it that) is as lame as they come. The person wey think am no think am well. It just goes further to buttress the point that no matter what a man is doing wrong, people like you will prescribe the wife to shut up and act like she doesn't feel it even if it kills her. If she does talk and he waxes violent, it is her fault. Sigh. Now think of another story that will help your stance. This one removed points from your argument. 5minsmadness: A woman goes to the doctor, beaten Black and Blue.
Doctor: "What happened?"
Woman: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk he beats me to a pulp."
Doctor: "I have a real good medicine for that. When your husband comes home drunk, just take a glass of sweet tea and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow until he goes to bed and is asleep."
Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.
Woman: "Doctor, that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with sweet tea. I swished and swished, and he didn't touch me!"
Doctor: "You see how much keeping your mouth shut helps?" |

I haven't done it but I just want to encourage you that you can do it I hope that's ok. Well I've a friend in Texas who did her two kids omugwo by herself since it hasn't been convenient to bring her mom or MIL over. She's not the most hardworking lady I've ever known. So if she can do it, I think you can too. As for your mom, you can't avoid her visiting forever. For now you may not be able to afford it, but when you can, just put your foot down like you are already prepared to do. By the time you've made it clear to her that she can't disrespect your spouse, she will hopefully get the message. |
Family › Re: Why Do Kids Obey Their Father More Than Mothers? by cococandy(f): 11:56pm On May 07, 2015 |
Maybe the parents have unwittingly demonized the father. So the kids are more afraid of the dad than the mom. Then They obey out of fear. (I know some guys may think this is a good thing, but it is not)
Or maybe the air around the house portrays that their mothers opinions don't matter so they don't obey as much as they obey their fathers. |

Same ol back and forth arguments with pages stretching to 20. To what end? Will all the arguments stop feminism? Will arguing about this change anything or change everyone's perception about feminism? Why waste so much energy on this? Nigerian youths are in soup! FG provide jobs for all biko. All the best brains are draining everyday. who knows maybe the nairaland tearing of clothes by anti-feminists will make some governments reverse their women's rights laws and send back women to the kitchen, deny them voting rights, deny them education, deny them freedom to do what they please with their lives and generally maybe put them back in the position where only men decide what's good for them. That could be the hope behind the tiresome incessant threads. |

vicoson: The reason why we have so many failed marriages is because we have more sick people than normal, healthy and mentally stable people. Having said that, this is what I think of @ nairalife and co:
1. Unaccountable: Those women that could not give you the other cheek are bad people- it couldn't have been your fault.
2. Too proud: Women should not desire good partners
3. Hypocrite: You can give but cannot take poo.
4. Morally bankrupt: Who can put up with
my bad character. After all we are a reflection of our partners.
I may be wrong though. But under normal circumstance, just being good should be enough to keep a family together.
