ibkayee: I’d be in tears everyday, one of the reasons I never pursued a career in the medical field, I know myself.
Shoutout to all the medical workers <3
Usually a lot of things don’t get to me. I actually started my career in the ICU so pretty much life and death everyday and the type of setting I’m most proficient in.
But if ever the situation involves a parent losing their child, imma be an emotional mess for the rest of month. Exactly why I don’t do the mother-baby unit or pediatrics.
I’m currently nursing oncology patients with cardiac complications. So basically cancer patients who have gone into heart failure and there’s no day my heart doesn’t shatter into a million pieces because there’s a mom sitting by her once healthy 19 year old who’s about to chose end-of-life care instead of pursing various cures because they’ve accepted the reality that the kid is going to die. It’s usually not even the patients themselves but the pain in the eyes of family that will have you sobbing in your car on the way home.
Klass99: I just heard my classmate's 10 year old daughter is on life support machine for kidney failure and your post immediately sprang to mind. You were so right!
I tend to take my good health for granted but no more. 10 years old . Is this is even medically possible? I think it is but my brain is struggling to process it. Please what would cause kidney failure in such a young child? The news just dampened my Christmas mood/spirit.
You think you have problems until you hear someone else's story, then you realize you were doing just fine all along.
GboyegaD: Does Costco have the 5 dozen eggs? What I usually see at Costco is the 10 dozen ones in brown boxes and the 2.5 dozen. Will check when I go to Costco for shopping. Besides, one thing I like about Costco is that they sell box of tomatoes and bell peppers unlike Sams Club. Might drop my Sams Club membership but my challenge with Costco is the long queue for gas compared to Sams Club.
They do have 5 dozen depending on the store.
Long line because their gas is the best. Premium for the price of regular
Try Costco. The membership costs in the beginning but it saves in the long run. I have the executive membership and I get more than half my membership money back by the end of the year. So in truth I really pay like a regular member. Sometimes if I had a lot of shopping I needed to do that year, my membership ends up being free and everything is significantly cheaper if you measure ounce per ounce with other stores. Plus they have things you can’t find elsewhere
The downside is that everything comes in big sizes lol. If you don’t have enough people in your family to eat it, it might go bad. Just invest in garage freezers. I put two in my garage and nothing goes bad now unless I don’t want to eat it.
Let me tell you, Walmart eggs piss me off now. Talm about some $20 for the largest pack of eggs.
GboyegaD: I guess it just seemed funny how price of eggs went that high relative to other food items. Chicken still sells around its usual price. .
I’ve seen people add cayenne and black pepper. They say it helps when you have a cold. Next time I’ll add black pepper (this lady says it helps with turmeric absorption). But I probably won’t add cayenne I prefer it more sour than spicy.
GboyegaD: Abeg, egg price go up for una area? In the last 6 months, price of eggs has almost tripled. Abeg, they kill all the hens wey dey lay eggs for Christmas ni?
descarado: People are doing Christmas shopping, this na my own
Have you tried blending it with turmeric and lemon and maybe a bit of honey if it’s too tart or too spicy for you? It is good for the tummy. Blend it with small water, sift and take the liquid in small quantities. Great for the digestive system.
Klass99: Oh but I did and for good reasons too, one of the ways we overcome the devil is by the words of our testimony.
Apart from Satan there are other devils here who believe;
1. Women are evil. 2. Women are their own worse enemies. 3. Devils who insult/diss you and other women endlessly, unprovoked and without justification.
It feels good to put them to shame, most won't have the liver to slide into your DM or mine with a request because of their shitty behaviour and past antecedents.
There's a lesson to be learnt from my experience/narrative - engaging respectfully with others on a public and anonymous forum, even when you disagree with their views, will not demean or diminish you. If anything, it may help you in your hour of need.
Klass99: Ditto . I can say the same thing about you. I couldn't resist the urge to publicly acknowledge you here, I hope your DM is not over-flooded after this.
You know you didn’t have to but I totally understand.
My inbox is broken and I’m blind. I see nothing I don’t wanna see
I’m grateful for another year of being in good health. Being around a lot of sick people makes you appreciate health. It’s truly the greatest gift life can give anyone.
Girlfriend everyone has needed some type of help at some point in their life. I have and I’ll always pay it forward. You have a good heart and that’s what attracts great people to you.
Klass99: I am grateful to God for the gift of these wonderful people I crossed paths with this year;
1. Cococandy - She came through for me during a demoralizing time at work when I lost a superior's £4,000 put in my care for an FX bank transaction. The loss wasn't as a result of my negligence, someone actually broke the lock on my office drawer to steal the money, I replaced that 4k pounds from my savings (it's good practice to have savings ooo, it is called savings for a good reason) but doing so wiped me out completely.
Then I needed funds to get by till my next pay day but none of my close relatives or friends could spare cash at the time. I reached out to Coco, told her my dilemma and she came through without delay. I will always be grateful that an internet stranger helped me when family/friends couldn't.
2. Major T - T is a childhood neighbour I lost touch with for ages after our families moved away from the town/estate we all used to live in. I ran into him when I first came to Lagos years ago to join my sisters and start my job search, but we lost touch again until this year. He invited me out to lunch recently but had an emergency last minute and couldn't do lunch, so he sent his driver to my office to give me cash for lunch.
Lunch money turned out to be $1,500. I immediately called him to ask why are you giving me so much money for lunch? He said it wasn't just for lunch, it was a gift to appreciate me for helping him at one of his lowest points in life. He said when we first ran into each other in Lagos years ago, he was broke and jobless the day we saw, but I invited him to my sister's crib, cooked a meal for him and gave him cash afterwards for transport, which he used not only for transport but bathing soap and other things.
He had never forgotten that day! I could vaguely recall the events of that day but he vividly remembered and recounted the exact location we met and my sister's exact home address back then. I was shocked and overwhelmed by emotions, but mostly touched by his generosity.
3. Mr. B my ex-boss - A former boss from two years ago whom I thought didn't like me, credited my bank account at the start of December with a sum of money that left me in shock and awe. I no longer had his phone number sef, I had to call former colleagues to get his number. I called him and surprisingly he still had my number, the first thing he said upon answering was - Klass, Christmas came early, right?
I laughed and said oga did you mistakenly credit my account? He said no, he knew what he was doing, it was a xmas gift with no strings attached he felt led in his spirit to gift it to me. I was taken aback but I profusely thanked him, we even had a good conversation before the call ended. I've been invited to his end of year party, along with another former colleague. This could be the start of a friendship or better relations with him.
Losing that £4,000 in this economy devastated me, I lost about 20kg in one week . But good people happened to me afterwards.
simplepee: This one go explain tire till his throat ceases to produce saliva . It’s not a bad thing, rest kwanu. Why disturbing people with series of explanations and defenses?
hardon1: Secondly, The man didn't saw her through school to be repaid. In my opinion, they should find a way to settle
This is kinda my point. If she’s talking strictly financial, then they are even. So of course it has to be something else because marriage is more than just money and who spent what.
They way it was elaborated in her title and story shows that it’s probably the main thing influencing her to stay. When it really shouldn’t be
If the finances is the issue why you can’t leave him, you already paid him back x10. What’s your real excuse for not leaving? It has to be more than financial. Do you still love him? Are you staying for the kids like they say? What’s the main issue? Because you’re not financially indebted to him so I don’t see why that’s in your topic
piecuntie: HI NAIRALANDERS ; I am about to seperate from husband who sponsored me in school because I am fed up.
I came from a very poor family. I met my husband when I was 19. He wasn't doing well either, he told me he was an engineer in a public hospital but as time went on I got to know he was a level 3 plumber in the civil service.
Well I was young, naive, hungry and blindly in love. He went to trade school and I encouraged him to go back to school for HND or bsc but he said he was going to sponsor me first. I got pregnant for him in my first year in school when I was 20yrs old, my mom was against it. I got to know he was 13years older than me while pregnant. HE TOLD ME HE WAS 26yrs old.
My mom wanted me to abort it, instead i packed my things and stayed with him. He abused my mom and I defended him. I gave birth while in school and he continued to support me both financially. We fought during those period, series of red flag but I decided to ignore it as long he wasn't beating me. He abused me emotionally. He knew my family was poor and there was no where i could go.
I finished school and my friends told me not to marry a plumber, I declined and told them he promised to go to school.
I finished school and i was scared of depending on him with my child, we were not doing fine at all.
I had no choice than to date a rich guy who helped me with a good job in the year 2017. HE got to know about the guy and i broke up with him. I apologized and we GOT MARRIED LEGALLY and got pregnant with my second child. We spent only 150k.
All the money i made from my salary, I made sure i supported him, i moved out of the family house in the year 2019, we have been there for 8yrs, he couldnt afford to rent a house, I spent 400k, both of us had no friends, we only had each other. I helped my brother and they did well in business. I asked my husband to go back to school, he was still adamant.
We went to a traditional person and they told him there is a curse on his head that i should bathe and do some sacrifice for him, which i did.
By year 2020 he was doing fine, we didn't even go hungry during the lockdown, I supported him with 2million naira and we did our traditional marriage.
IT was his business patners who were notorious cheat and neglected their wife that did his groom men, They introduced him to an association, i have asked him what is the aim of the association, he cant tell me, it is a secret.
3 months after the wedding, he started cheating and even beat me for the first time on our wedding anniversary becaus of the girl, When he saw i withdrawed all financia assistant like paying half of the rent and paying one of the kids school fees. he called family members to beg me and we settled and i bought a family car for us to use.
Since then i have been walking on eggs around him, he tells me i should respect his age that we are not mate, he beat me again last 3 months saying i am as proud as my mother and i abused his mother back.
This monday i had to run after bus to go to work because i told im i was looking for mOney, and he said i just call him a thief. I had no money on me i had to call my brother to give me money. He wasnt even bothered. He doesn't call me again, WE DONT GO OUT AGAIN
I don't stress him for expensive outing our wigs or phone. I bought my phone or trip myself out. He would rather hang out with his friends. He tells his friends and the kids i wear cheap outfits.
My mind is now strong. I don't cry again if he offends me nor complain.
I want to divorce him , sell the car and use it for this UK study route and take my children as dependent without him knowing. I am tired of the marriage already. He is 44 while I am 31. i want to move on with my life.
tctrills: It's always interesting to hear someone who knows little or nothing about business giving business advice to one of the greatest entrepreneurs in human history.
And the kinds of people who support them also fit a certain stereotype. Life is really fascinating in that some things never really do change from century to century.
WillyCassey: Musk, Trump, Putin are textbook narcissists. All the characteristics you named are typical of narcissism.
Huge ego bigger than mansions.
They can never accept being wrong. (Remember when Trump gave a wrong path for a hurricane that hit Florida I think, he is not a meteorologist when meteorologist gave the actual path which did not include some of where he stated, he had to use sharpie pen to add his own path.)
They lack the ability to emphasize.
They don't love because they lack emotional connections, if you watch they always have many ex or have cheated on their wives. Their emotional growth stopped at childhood.
He can't self reflect because he'll see those emotions he tries to lock out.
They always have a cult followership.
They're crass, degrade and talk to their employees anyhow, cut corners.
They're mostly rich, this is to allow them buy people to themselves.
They're impulsive leaders, they're like gunpowder waiting to explode.
The pathology of the ailment is they were shamed, ridiculed and maybe rejected as children. They copy their abusers and replicate it.
Trumps father was a racist, bigot and evil person. Musk father is irresponsible, even till today he says it openly that he prefers his other child to Musk. That alone can make a child narcissistic. So both parents were toxic, I don't know about Putin's parents he must have been toxic too. See the pattern?
Sirseedorf: Elon musk na no nonsense billionaire you do anyhow, you go collect anyhow, as his employees just follow his rules and regulations hence you are going to the firing line.
pocohantas: Always good to see we still have a minute responsible men in this Nigeria. It is the fact that they can almost die trying to convince you that their randy pricks are the standard.
That’s why my empathy cup for them has run dry. I only hope whenever their wives cheat, they should make sure 3 out of the 4 kids belong to other men. You know just let them have one for a bit of dazzle dazzle
Mercury12: Hurry up with your plans and join him asap. Body no be firewood
That’s if he doesn’t make up a story as to why she can’t join him yet. Then he’ll come home, get her pregnant and go back. Come back the next year and get her pregnant again and then the rest is history. She’ll be stuck here in Nigeria and he’ll be with his harem of concubines over there.
OP if you know what’s good for you, get on some serious birth control until you decide if you want to stay in the marriage or not
Igiaruwe04: I'm not Justifying cheating. But the lady should not allow a small issue to scatter her marriage. You know how things can get lonely abroad and you want the man to die of loneliness.
keep the same energy when she gets lonely all by herself
Now he tells me dating app is a norm in the UK and everyone is there. He said he's only there to socialize and meet people, especially Nigerian, but not for dating.
Everything is an opportunity for you nitwits to hate on women. Just shut the fvck up or go tell it to the ladies in your family. How many women do you know that wear this? Xtupid ass
ValCon888: Tomorrow if we say Nigerian women have nothing to offer, they'll say we are haters.
The only reason why the typical Nigerian woman will buy this product is because she uses her body as a commodity for the transaction of sexual goods and services.
Tomorrow they'll complain about being seen as sex objects, but they continue to sexualize themselves.
Ironically, it was the flat-assed Chinese woman that designed this product for the chicken-brained Nigerian woman to wear.
Girl, We can’t talk about fragrances around me. I have a problem. I can’t list all I specifically use because it changes daily. But BR540 by MFK, Black orchid by Tomford, Angels’ Share by Kilian Paris and Alien by Mugler are usually always in my collection regardless of whatever else I buy, I still go back to them. I hope you like them If you try any of them.
As per general suggestions, anything from Chanel, Dior, Armani and Tom Ford are good designer choices if you are into designer brands.
But if you’re a fragrance snob, you can look into Maison Francis Kurkjian and Kilian Paris. They are not designer. Frag head’s usually rate their products more long lasting than designer products.
When it comes to drug store brands, Victoria’s secret and Bath & body works are some of the few that have amassed a lot of loyalty because of the variety, affordability and quality of their products. And during the holidays, they bring new holiday products as well. There’s always so much to choose from between these last two brands.
folake4u: Magnoliaa Thank you very much for sharing this picture. I ABSOLUTELY love it.
Happy December ladies.
Let's talk about deodorants, perfumes, body sprays/body mists.
What brand of the above do you use or once used, that is longlasting and would recommend for any lady?
